Explanation of the song for non-Filipino speakers:
The song begins with the singer recalling their childhood. The girl was beautiful and he says she resembled the celebrity Paraluman. The girl taught him to dance Boogie, Cha-cha, to name a few, but her favorite was El Bimbo. He said he was too young to understand but he was in love with the girl. His memories of them together are magical and her presence made the world simply better.
He grew up with his feelings and he regrets that he never told her how he felt.
Years passed, and they lost contact somehow. (Perhaps they are from the province and the girl moved to Manila, our capital). He received news that she is already with child but with no spouse and she was employed as a dishwasher. One fateful night she met her untimely end after being run over in a vehicular accident at a poorly lit street.
The singer's hopes and dreams with her are completely obliterated. He will now only be ever to dance with her in his dreams.
