    But what if you want to smoke food but only own a gas grill? Is it possible to smoke food using you gas grill? Yes it is.

    When you use the foil don’t you sent a flame to the shavings or just leave it

    Hey can you just light the wood chips inside the smoker box without using the propane & keep adding wood chips to it after half hour 45 minutes or do you add the wood chips & have to constantly have the burner on

      In my experience you will have a hard time keeping wood chips burning if they are not over a heat source. You might keep it going for a few minutes, but after that it would go out.

    My gas NexGrill has a big gap between the lid and the actual grill allowing the smoke to leak out rather rapidly. How would I keep the smoke inside the grill long enough to smoke my meats?

      All gas grills have a gap to allow some smoke and heat to escape. Lower the temp just enough to smoke, and try to maintain it for as long as possible.
