I want to RE-Open my BBQ STAND... except this time have a Food Trailer and the main thing I want to Smoke is BEEF JERKY I have done extensive research and Beef Jerky per Ounce makes the Best profit... plus it sells really well.. I do not want to use a dehydrator... I have been around BBQ for over 55 years and all we have ever used is Real Wood. I have really seen a lot of smokers... and I think I have decided on Smokin Tex... This company has been around a LONG TIME... It is just Simple and Good... and you're not paying for some fancy name... What Smoker did You decide on?
Hey can you just light the wood chips inside the smoker box without using the propane & keep adding wood chips to it after half hour 45 minutes or do you add the wood chips & have to constantly have the burner on
In my experience you will have a hard time keeping wood chips burning if they are not over a heat source. You might keep it going for a few minutes, but after that it would go out.
My gas NexGrill has a big gap between the lid and the actual grill allowing the smoke to leak out rather rapidly. How would I keep the smoke inside the grill long enough to smoke my meats?

All gas grills have a gap to allow some smoke and heat to escape. Lower the temp just enough to smoke, and try to maintain it for as long as possible.
