    When you have finished this series can you do a video on how many watches you have in total and how you store them e.g. all thrown in a drawer, automatics all on winders, in display boxes, combination of all or whatever?

    My first dive watch was the Casio Duro. After trying several different watches to figure out what I wanted (within a budget of $300 or less), I have an Islander ISL-09. Love, love the blue!

    My favorite dive watch is the one I inherited from my Dad who passed away 10 years ago. He bought an orange dial Seiko Arnie while he was in the Navy and it still works like a charm. I’m 34 and that watch is older than I am.

    Absolutely the Panerai is my favorite. Most unique.
    I've got a Spring Drive Tuna - wonderful watch, gorgeous sweep. I am wearing my Bathy's Bethnic Ti - Retrograde day, Big Date (quartz, 44mm). On a strap that is vintage canvas, leather backed.

    For those wondering about an off-the-shelf movement in Jory's Panerai, I wish I had made the same decision he did. I was so enamored with getting an in-house movement that I bought a new Panerai 312 (I believe the first in-house movement in a modern Panerai) and it was a poor decision. In 5 years of ownership it had to go back to Italy twice for movement failures, both of which cost me close to 4 figures and the watch was out of my possession for 3+ months each time. It would have been so much easier having an ETA-containing model that I could fix down at my local watch shop. There's a reason this dude has 100k subscribers ;)

    • @thetimeteller
      @thetimeteller  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much, Glenn! I’m sorry for your rough experience w/ your 312, I hope it was eventually resolved. Super frustrating to hear stories like that.

      The Time Teller thanks for the response. We all learn things over the years of collecting watches. It’s all part of the experience. Just picked up a new khaki mechanical in the DLC dark bronze color on your recommendation. Very different from my usual watches but you’re right that the simplicity and honesty of the watch is refreshing. 80 hours power is not bad either! Thanks for what you do!

    Panerai! Such a beautiful watch. And it really standa apart from all other divers. And of course Seiko Skx007 - I love it so much that I had to have it 🤣 I actually upgraded the movement on it and it is one of my go to everyday watches. You got a great collection, Jory. And I love the fact that you do not give a s... about all the negative or criticizing comments. These are your watches, your choices, and you wear them :)

    My dive watch is a Citizen Promaster Aqualand 2 . I use it as a backup when diving because of the integrated, water activated dive computer. I mean...a f-ing dive computer in the watch! It shows current depth, temperature, dive log, dive time alert, max depth alert, ascend speed alert....
    And from personal experience I can say it works. I once had to do an emergency ascend and was a bit to fast in the beginning and my main suunto dive computer was warning me and so did the Aqualand.

    In the UK picking up an skx 007 is around £350. Is it worth getting one as a diver at that price or is it worth getting something else (Orient ray 2 is approx £120). I'm guessing that when the 007 was approx £150 nothing could touch it for value but are there better divers for under £300? ($350 US). Thanks and keep up the good work 👍
