The Nexus 6 Teardown!

- Two weeks ago we had the Nexus 9 tablet on our teardown table, and it scored a measly 3 out of 10 on our repairability scale due to its complicated interior, its fused lcd and it use of tons of adhesive. Well, today we are taking a look at Google and Motorola’s entry into the phablet market, the Nexus 6. Will it score just as low as the 9? There’s only one way to find out and that’s to tear it down.

***** if its anything like the moto X (which it kidna is) then there should be a hole inside the sim slot to help push up the backing of the phone rather than using a prying tool, you can use the included sim ejector tool to poke up the backing material
Hey! How about the LCD? How easy is to replace? Who wait for the teardown to know about the chips inside? Weak ...
Funny that Motorola put the low and high mAh on the battery so they wouldn't get the same criticism as the Moto 360
Most phones have fused lcds, swapping the cracked glass is not as hard as it seems but does require experience.

How are the speakers put in there you forgot to show that in comparison to HTC Nexus or the M8.
did a test next to the Harmon Kardon HTC M8 speakers are damn near equal. I'd say they were equal.
***** really that's sweet I'm glad they are up to par. I'm so happy with my nexus 6 now that I have it, the thin sides add to the perfect sized phone, only problem is its a case only phone to me I can't grip it without it falling the ground because of the back texture.

***** I have an 5.8 one (you'll know what it is) and I got sort of used to it because it an pain in the bud inside of your pants pocket.
Avi Bryan same here, it is big but I have no problem with it at all, most of the time I carry it in the back pocket of my jeans.
Only downside of the size is that one hand operations are limited...
Michal Zdunek Honestly, I need to move it to my back pocket soon. Unless I choose to put a passcode on it, I will continue to experience the dreaded butt-dialling and other pocket actions. It is always active in my pocket. (Even after I disabled Ambient Display)
