I remember as a little kid buying this with my pocket money from my local Asda, as soon as I bought it, I took it out the packaging, accidently activated the explode gimmick, lost the chest piece and cried for hours.

This is one of the lines I always wanted but never had as a kid. Getting dodgy copies of 18 rated movies was an important part of growing up.
God, I actually watched the movies first when I was a wee girly girl. My parents just had a thing where they'd tell me to "Close eyes" during any really bloody bits (ie chest burstery), but yeah, I loved these toys all to hell. I still have my Flying Queen on display because she's just wonderful!
The Scorpion Alien was a gem, used to terrorize the G.I Joe figures that I had that resembled Colonial Marines (Sonic Fighter Dodger for example). Good times.

That segment on the gimmick brought back So many memories. I remember that barely working when the toy was NEW.
I have to admit, I loved how detailed all those toys were.

haha i remember seeing The Toxic Avenger on tv when i was 8 and being horrified by how violent it was. 8 year old me wasnt prepared for how different i was expecting it to be based on the cartoon and action figures.
Neither were my parents, lol! Within minutes of the reality of what the movie was, that VHS was out of the player and back on the rental shelf, and I was left wondering what the heck I actually saw minutes of!
It wasn't just me that had problems with the explodey gimmick, good to know. I did get it to work a year later, though.
I need to find a Scorp on eBay sometime. I kinda miss him.
AW YEAH SCORPION ALIEN, I've still got all my Kenner Aliens figures and the Scorpion Alien is still my favorite. IT FREAKING EXPLODES.

Thew, if you love the aliens franchise, I think you should go with NECA, they make some fantastic aliens, predators, and even eggs, face huggers and humans!
YEEESSSSSS I had these toys! They were so great. I had the Scorpion Alien, Flying Queen Alien, Snake Alien (Probably the most badass), Ripley and Power loader. She didn't fit well into the loader though :(
Thew not sure if you've seen it but there was an even more accurate screen representation that came in a twinpack as a 'Warrior Alien vs Renegade Predator' (this was well before the movies, around the time the comics/novels came out).
Just checked on Ebay and they go for NEARLY A 100 POUNDS! Jesus christ...wish I'd kept mine cherry now...but alas...young me still played with it.
I had most of those toys cause I watched the films way too young, and this guy right here was my absolute favorite. Had a couple predators, too, I did AVP before AVP did AVP in my room lol
Such a fun and proper childhood I had during this time. Between these, TMNT, G2 transformers/beast wars, Power rangers, and Star wars, I was able to learn good vs evil, Flesh vs Machine and of course Awesome vs Awesome. Odly seeing the Aliens films never phased me since I knew that the Aliens were the "bad guys" so I expected them to be brutal and not nice. Silly me..
Huh.. Never knew that Alien had toyline.. Well, as I was born in 1991..
He's becoming the heavy-metal Failtoys.

Wave two with the Predators was awesome. I spent six months waiting for the mail-away "invisible" Predator. Six. Months. But it was so frickin' awesome!
It was strange because I never owned any of the marines, just the aliens, but who needs marines when you had hundreds of GI Joe figures to fight them? Yeah, scaling wasn't right, but who cared!
I told myself, back when these Aliens figures first came out, that I'd just get the Scorpion and the Queen. Yeah, that stance lasted about a week.
Hah! I had a bunch of those Aliens toys! The marines were rubbish, but the xenomorphs scaled pretty well with G.I. Joes. Throw in the Predator action figures and you've got a party!
I think I enjoyed this more than the actual Alien franchise. :D
If you do want to go beyond Aliens watch the assembly cut of Alien 3. Still not as great as the other two but it is a much better cut than the theatrical.
So... this was the only video of yours I haven't watched until now because I didn't think there was any possibility that you could review a toy I'm not really interested in and still make it entertaining to me. So yeah, I was wrong. You rock, dude. Keep it up.
Theory about the aliens: They weren't all conceived in a way we understand them to be, basically they killed some huggers, took the eggs and experimented by putting DNA in them.
I had a nerdgasm at EVERY SINGLE REFERENCE. Colour me satisfied ;)
About the explosion gimmick, can somebody please tell me how to get it to work? I've been pressing as hard as I can and nothing will happen..

Most of the people I know watched R Rated Action flicks when they were children. My generation is the last not to be coddled and secluded from the world. I remember owning Terminator 2 on the NES... it has always been my favorite movie. I think that the marketing back then was on point
I have the Ripley and Hicks figures. The latter signed by Michael Biehn.
I still can't believe I even came across that one Ripley figure.........or this one two pack of Warrior Alien VS Renegade Predator, both at a freakin' Picker's Paradise store and barely about ten bucks a piece. Still in the original packages and everything, a little bit worse for wear but still in packaging. I wish I could take them out but damn man I just dare not to it was too rare a find I'm never that lucky with these things. How? How do I even own these now?

I still have one of those Robocop action figures. At least those are somewhat defensible because there was a PG rated TV show at the time, which I did watch but I don't remember much from it.

The animal themed aliens are actually in the Aliens lore but mostly in the comics,a lot the animal themed aliens are genetic modified by humans as an experiment or to have the basically weapons,those people are idiots if you asked me,most of the characters that either genetically modified or bread xenonorphs ended up getting killed by them.

I used to have the gorilla and scorpion alien my mate traded me for whatever like of crap I didn't want At the time, we traded that toy back and forth several times, I had if for like at least ten years and now it's disappeared to wherever all the missing toys and left socks go. and the gorilla alien was rubbish. loved the exploding gimmick. my mate is mad alien and tiger fan, I have no idea why the fuck he ever traded it to me in the first place.
Every one of those Kenner Alien figures was a winner as far as I'm concerned.

Bull Alien had the extendoneck feature, Gorilla Alien was hugging..which was the same for the praying mantis alien (dats just lazy!), Snake alien just had the pop out tongue, Alien queen had pop out tongue and tail smash, King alien had grabby head mandiblethingys and water squirting, Flying Alien Queen (yes thats a real thing) had wing flappy motions, Panther Alien fired a missile thingy from its back and the Queen facehugger had a tail zipline thing which retracted and face hugger grasping legs.
Phew that was all from memory and those were all the Alien toys I had..Did have the marines, the power lifter and the car/truck/tank thing.

Back to this figure, I oughta get an Alien toy.
Be warned some of them are hella-expensive. The Toy line wasn't too popular and thus didn't last that long (maybe 2-3 years). Though I will say for action figures the Alien Queen figure is (much like the Scorpion Alien) a damn bloody good sculpt for an action figure. It also came with it's own unique accessory.
Unlike the facehuggers all the other aliens came with, She came with a Queen Chestbuster figure...so yeah...you know...for kids!

hey thew it's based off the scene where the alien gets covered in that liqued metal and was super cooled so it blew the he'll up in aliens 3, I used to have all of these guys but the bat queen. the craziest one was the Scottish dude who dressed like a queen alien ^^
also the dog alien had a gnarly parasite missile that shot out of its neck.

Amazing video
The toyline was amazing. My favourite was the dude in the Alien costume. That thing was really cool.
Found it boxed in a charity shop a few years back and he proudly sits on my figure shelf with a few transformers and PR/Kamen Rider stuff.

I find the facehugger that came with this figure (which I also still have somewhere) knocking about in a drawer now and again. I'm always like, "Hey, that thing I never had another figure to fit this over the face of," before dropping it back in the drawer to keep looking for all the armor bits from my old Iron Man figure, or like, Conan's axe. Or Earthworm Jim's blaster or buddy Snott.
"Don't worry, Parker - yeah, you'll get whatever's coming to you."
