  • In this video I talk about protecting your comic book investment using certain products. I keep getting asked what I use on my comic books and in this video I show you.
    Foundational books video to come. Imagine only owning 5 comic books and these comics were the comics. You would have a pretty cool eye catching collection in my opinion. These books can be expensive, but if you come up with a plan on how to save up for these you can achieve them. I really hope you enjoy this video an make sure to share the link with your friends as this is a very limited time offer.
    These are Foundational Comic Books for any collection.

    Great video on how to handle and bag comics. I’ve tried the top loaders but wasn’t happy with the clarity. They’re good for the low price but there are a couple better options on the market now. Some of the newer cases are quite pricey at $40+ but the Comic Capsule just came out with a $10 price. Those are significantly better than traditional top loaders but they’re more for displaying your comic, not storing.

    I remember buying that X266 off the spinner, wished I'd bought several copies as the magazine guy had just filled it. My copy came back a 9.8 three years ago along with the two copies of Asm 252 and NM's 26 all News/9.8's.

    Thank you for the video on preserving your collection. I as well endorse E. Gerber products for backing boards (Full Back), Mylites 2 mil, but in lieu of top loaders I use Bill Cole Enterprices Mylar Guards (size #62, 8-1/4" wide x 11" tall). I use this for all my high grade Silver and Bronze-Age comic books. With this archival and protection method, I store them in Magazine sized boxes due to the larger width. Anyways, thanks for sharing your best practices and all the best. Remember the Alamo!

  • @Creaturefeatures
    @Creaturefeatures 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I love E. Gerber products. Never really used top loaders in addition but can see the appeal. However, will they fit into a comic box or would this system require a magazine box?

    Great video! I have a question,
    I collect star wars trades (they're usually 120-160 pages long). What size mylar bag and backing board would you use to protect them?
    Right now i use ultimate guard silver age poly bags with current size backing boards, but i want to move to mylar for extra protection! I like quite snug fit, and some white border around the comic book.

    • @AlextheComicHoarder
      @AlextheComicHoarder  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s a great question. I have some trades I have try to put into Mylar to test it out, but I do have some advice. For really thick books like Pulps or trades the boards need to be smaller than the bags. I am thinking for these trades you may way to try Golden Age Bags with Standard size boards. I may have that combination, so let me try. If I don’t get back with you ask again.

    • @AlextheComicHoarder
      @AlextheComicHoarder  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Take your time and be patient. If you have $100 to spend think about buying 1-2 bigger books with that money over tons of dollar books or cheaper books.

  • @d1138vader
    @d1138vader 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have used standard gerber with full backs on silver and modern. I noticed they were a little too snug for my liking. I’m thinking of using half backs from now on. Have you used half backs? And yes pull tabs on tape and I use golden age top loaders for all my keys in Mylar. Some of my modern cover buys I use just current poly and top loader. I prefer raw to graded. But great info

    Question: This video is a little older. Do you still prefer MODERN/CURRENT bags & boards versus SILVER AGE? I tend to use SILVER AGE for all ages (SILVER, BRONZE, COPPER & MODERN). I like the white boarder all the way around the book. Just curious.

    Thanks so much for the video. Really helps someone like me who is just starting out. After you're done with the whole process of the two boards, the bag, and the mylar...where do you store it? Do you use a short box? Do they even fit in a short box after this process? Thanks again!
