I confused on how this fits into the BotW timeline, the egg guardian awoke when Zelda saved link in the past but the descendants are coming from the future those events should happen yet. This makes less sense than the original Hyrule Warriors

Probably because the future stayed the same the champions died in there etc

AoC whole campaign takes place in the past a couple of months before calamity meaning everything takes place in the past meaning the time era the egg guardian comes from still is in the past he awakens when Zelda awakens her sacred powers so how are the descendants travel to the past if that era was never shown

@@Omnitrickster0207 the egg going going back essentially created a alternate timeline that’s parallel to Botw.
So, Timeline A: events leading up to the great calamity, the great calamity, link in the shrine of resurrection for 100 yrs, Botw.
Alternate: Egg activates during the great calamity in timeline A, goes back in time which creates Timeline B where age of calamity takes place. Nothing changes in the timeline that Botw takes place in and that’s why the egg is able to bring in the descendants and they all recognize Link even though he doesn’t know them.
