Another week, more excellent space coverage! Thanks, NSF!
4:20 on Pi Day would be so Elon.
The time stamp is also ironic😂
Lol
i hope it gets approve it would be a great bday gift for me hahaha
1:59:26 would be better - launch time 2024-03-14 1:59:26 would go so hard for pi day
It is so good for the commentator to say the date: this is Fri Mar 8th, instead of other sites saying this is "Episode 108" (and no date) and then show it a week later as "fresh off the press". Great show Melissa !
She's Elysia, not Melissa.😉
my pet peeve too! mark the date, so that context makes more sense
Elysia is an excellent host. Great voice and personality. Great update from the whole team.
Another outstanding weekly update from Elysia, whom I'm very grateful for your enthusiasm, knowledge, and professionalism.
lol not the leg wrap around the two of them 1:39
Iconic leg wrap 😂😂😂🚀 nobody invited me though, I'm jealous. What does a space sandwich taste like?
The only professional female with space news on YT.
Thank you!
Shame to see the OSAM project get cancelled. Though I gotta admit the newer approach of a parasite satellite latching on and providing propulsion to give new life ( or just de-orbit ) old sats seems at lot simpler and safer. The KISS principle at work
It's getting exciting! Next week IFT3 - GUARANTEED excitement! And around here, at Wallops Is., we just got notice of two upcoming launches potentially this month from Rocket Lab. Those weren't on the schedules until recently, so here we go folks, strap on your rocket booties and get ready!
Great recap! I'm surprised there wasn't a mention of Astra going private
After watching this installment, I thought to myself, "Self, she certainly is doing a fantastic job!" Such good energy!
Thank you Alysia for another great update.
*Elysia
@@Wichelroede you are correct, I apologize for my fat fingers.
Matthew Domminick has been to the ISS on three different vehicles, that's awesome.
Thank you for these weekly updates Elysia. Love them!
Great to see you back Elysia! Thanks for the update. Love the astronaut earrings.
Thank you for sharing!
Wow! Super informative! Lots of stuff I had not seen on the other channels.
Thank you Alysia, you come back!
*Elysia
NSF and Elysia, y'all rock! Peace
By the way, not just OSAM-1 was cancelled. OSAM-2 (which would have been launched earlier, this or last year) was also silently cancelled a while ago. Nobody reported on it.
Thanks for another excellent update!
I had to hop on the NSF store last time Elysia wore that shirt and buy one. Wore it the other day. Totally love it!!!❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for the awesome vid!
Looking forward to the stream later and of course the launch attempt on the 14th.
I hope you will make it to 1 Million Subscribers during the launch countdown!!
Go Gilmour Space, Australia needs you! This is the best Spaceflight update there is, thanks NSF team.
Yep, so glad we are finally spreading our wings and joining the rest, just a shame we are so far behind though.
Love the ear-tethered space-walkers. 👍
Thanks for mentioning the Gspace/ASA upcoming launch at the Bowen Orbital Launchpad. As an Australian this is a very exciting time to be watching Gilmour Space Technologies doing their thing. To the stars 🫶👏👏👏
Thanks Elysia and NSF team, great round up.
Shes got the bestest earings of any space news girl
Good to hear Australia is coming up with rockets now. That's great. Very best of luck. 🦘🦘🦘😉👏
Thank you so much for this incredible content
Really look forward to these episodes❤
Making Fridays even better!!!!
Thanks! And happy women’s day 🎉
I don't watch all your videos but loving the new to me commentator. Even as far as the other space channel's hosts, this person is much easier to listen to. Previous possibly professional experience I'm guessing.
Anyway, thanks for the launch date notice.
She works for, or did work for the Intrepid Museum, she has been around on and off for a long time now, then she started hosting this (i am guessing she still works at the Museum as she isn't the host sometimes), and your right, she is easier to listen too.
exited for starship launch haha
Earings are on point!
Great update!
What a great presentation.
Great work.
Thanks you are the best.
Awesome updates 👏
FAA Launch License wen?
yeah countdown to launch
bro sounds like a 90s fighting game commentator, truly amazing
That’s really amazingly awesome SpaceX is go for Launch 🚀 mission success for the SpaceX teams. Team work great job
Does anyone have any information on SpaceX getting a second launch site at Vandenberg Space Force Base?
5:40 🤣
thank you. you were missed last week Alisa
*Elysia
@@Wichelroede It's amazing how people get her name so wrong when it is literally at the start of every video, seen your correct about 6 people now lol.
i was about to angrily come down here and riot before you said "MADE in Australia, looking at you black arrow"
nice you are back
Good luck🍀Elon & SpaceX I can't wait 💙🚀❤️🔥🔥🌟💕
still want when crew go to the iss the orbit graphic has a tiny iss please
That is a lot of combat pilots for bringing peace to space
We will see
Love love those earrings!!! 🚀🔥🚀🔥🚀🔥❤️
It's been said that the first six months of astronaut training consists of memorizing the list of acronyms, then the real training can begin. After four years in launch vehicle certification my own acronym list has grown to almost 6000 entries and my coworkers ask for updates, it's bonkers.
with colder temperatures come great responsibility
SpaceX is so impressive ! I sure Starship is successful as well !!!
Still cool as the first time when these lovely tubes stick the landing. From cannons to beer to shotguns to grease guns to rockets gorta love a good ol tooooob.
the future coming so fast
Elysia’s the best!!
I was wanting to see a Starship launch in person but we won't be down in Texas in time (catching the eclipse). I guess it is pretty unlikely it will be delayed until closer to April 8...
Great earrings, Elysia!
What's the tentative flight date for IFT3? Anyone know?
14th of March on the NOTAMS.
14th of march I think
I can wait to look at Starship launch on its fourth attempt . Hope its mission can be accomplish.
The next crew is a colourful bunch, there's a navy pilot, a different kind of navy pilot, and an olympian.
But are they going to see if ants can sort tiny screws in space?
Namal sri lanka ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Curiousity: do Crew missions carry any supplies in Dragon trunk on trip to ISS or is trunk not used at all during crew missions? Seems that section is usually empty but they could take some extra stuff with them, couldn't they? TIA
I think a lot of it is packed in the Crew Dragon as it has to be kept from freezing. While they are at the ISS, I think they load all the waste into the trunk and when they get to the re-entry point, they jettison the trunk and that section gets burned up in the atmosphere.
Nothing is loaded on the trunk for Crew Dragon missions either on the way up or on the way down
I think these are your best earnings so far
welcome back alysia
*Elysia
Starship is going to launch on pi day? Awesome!
Just asking, where is starship plush? Is it sold out?
8:58 Oorah from Florida
March 14th
So pleased to see you back, Melissa. You brighten my day and make me smile. Thank you.
*Elysia
So, in this upcoming week, five of the six major space industry events (launches or returns) will be SpaceX. I remember when even two such events in basically any small timeframe worldwide would be a lot going on.
oh WOW CLOVIS,CALIFORNIA she is a astroanut candidate wow that is like right where I live! that is freaking amazing!
7:53 The what can?
AWESOME
Yay earrings, Yay launch date, yay space news
Let's gooooo
❤❤
Welcome back. You are smiling even more this week.
3:14 mistake found!!
Bravo Elon!!! You are an amazing human being to have created all of this. Keep the momentum going young fellow and let me see mankind land on the moon again and naturally Mars, of course, if I live that long!!!
1:38 . . . What was that 0g 'leg hugging' all about ? 😉🙃
6:59 Flight 3 Date 14 march
Great Video ! 3.14159... tjl P.S. Hope I remembered correctly...
You did remember correctly😊
👍👍
I ❤ Crew 8
Glad your back Alysia

Surely, Australia's first orbital launch facility was at Woomera, where Britain launched its Black Arrow 'Lipstick rocket', putting X-3, a.k.a. Prospero, into orbit, in 1971? That very successful satellite operated until at least 1998, when it was finally switched off after completing all of its objectives. The dormant satellite is still in orbit.
The difference, which was said in the video, is that this rocket is Aussie made, not UK made.
@@rjswas Thanks mate. I lived in Australia for some time, and I clearly misheard that point. I still cheer for both sides in a cricket Test Match. 😁 Whatever the details, this space news is a fine achievement.
@@locknut5382 No problem mate, glad you got some info from my comment,
Am looking forward to this flight, GET YOUR ASS TO MARS!!!!!
🥂🥂
Ass-cans? 🤣Keep those cadets in their place.
Is it possible to do without the background music, to speak a little slower and reduce applied “enthusiasm” to “nominal”. Thank you.
😮
👍👍👍🇮🇳
👍👍👍😻
I’m so angry man I have school that day so I won’t be able to watch it live 😭😭😭
Starship?
Yay
