I got into the habit of always taking my pocket knife out of my pocket when home for the evening. Not only to avoid a possible oops moment such as yours, but to also may sure it doesn’t get tossed in the washing machine! Be careful y’all!
Glad you're okay. One time I cut myself badly because I was carving a hiking staff and started laughing at something (slipping off and slicing myself). At the Emergency Room, when my wife wasn't in the room, they asked me if everything was okay (domestically) and really pressed on me to make sure the wound was a self inflicted accident. ~ LoL
Tip up! I worry about getting cut or poked through the pocket so I won't buy a folder that won't have the blade held closed in my pants. It's a deal breaker for sure. Glad you kept the leg.
(^^^) This - I really couldn't care less if a clip is TU or TD. But, when the blade comes open by itself - even a little (obviously), it becomes dangerous, imo. If it's mine, it's probly time to either repair, retire and/or replace it. If it's not mine, I won't buy it
Glad your ok and did not lose something more important! It is always good to go and eat ice cream after a visit to the E.R something in the ice cream helps. I eat a lot of ice cream. And you will always have a great story, nurses always tell me women love scars I think it's something they just say. GREAT job Frankie on your nursing skills. /// PEACE
The same thing happened to me a few years back. We were in the mountains on a river. I stepped out of my camper and stuck my hand in my pocket and zipped my middle finger open. There was a lot of blood. Luckily my friend had been a military medic and he fixed me up. Glad he was with us. Then back to fishing.
I can't tell you how many times I've cut myself over the years, probably had stitches 6 times maybe. Nearly cut my left thumb off, with the blade of my MiniBuck tool. Just glad to hear you both are okay. Thanks for the update and for letting everyone know you're still doing what you do.
I carried a tip up button lock in my pocket. I was riding my Harley and hit a bump. Apparently that was enough to pop out the blade a bit. I got home and put my hand into my pocket to get my keys and the very sharp blade cut the tip on my thumb and right through the nail like butter. I feel your pain. Carry on!
I bought a knife about 2 months ago from Amazon and within 10 minutes of flicking it I very adequately opened my thumb up. Took forever to heal! Good to see you folks back! Stay safe!
I did it his once with my Manix 2. I didn't get stitches but probably should have. It split my finger tip down the middle. To this day, I rarely carry that knife anymore, but I still carry my other manix knives.
Good morning Bird and Frankie. I have seen this before and seen this before and seen posted videos of this kind of issue. Pulling up pants or shorts a weak detent is usually responsible as once the blade past the detent and then the bad part ensues. I have had some cut issues when I was on blood thinners (not a smart hobby to be into LOL!) Stop bleeding products are a smart thing to have on hand. Glad your injury wasn't worse and glad you can talk about in the past tense so openly. BTW I had a feeling you were in good hands with Nurse Frankie (are you Nurse Jackie's Cousin) Love you guys Glad all is well😼
Ouch! Glad y’all are back and Bird is recovering. Had a knife open in my pocket and stab my leg (Buck idk the model). Luckily it wasn’t as bad as that!
Good to see you back and glad you didn't hurt your self worse, I got my first stitches last year at 50 cleaning fishing string out of my 4 year old boys fishing pole
I’ve got scars all over my body from different types of cutting implements. Twice I’ve had a run in with table saws. Razor knife cut scars like crazy and knife cut scars as well. One of my fingers is crooked because I cut a tendon for it. Both legs have multiple scars when a knife slipped and I sliced into my leg. Palm of one hand has multiple scars from knife or razor knife cuts. But I’ve never gotten stitches. I always used super glue and paper towel. Whiskey makes a great painkiller too. Get to feeling better dude!! Glad you didn’t reach room temp.
Oh wow. That’s why. Was wondering what happened. That’s a story I have heard before BTW and that’s why I never ever leave a knife in a pocket when I put away my pants. All the best, Bird and „well done“, Frankie.
Ya it’s been awile I miss your videos glad your ok 👍 I’ve gotten stitches a few times I just tell my wife I’m Off the emergency room again lol she just rolls her eyes
Good clean cuts from a good sharp edge. Going to heal faster that way too. But good that you didn't try to just take care of it at home, lots of people do that and they are silly for doing that.
“Looks worse than it is, got a bunch of stitches” Not sure how getting a bunch of stitches can look much worse??? lol Glad you guys are ok though. Welcome back.
One more thing! I had one of my knives open up in my pocket like that one did. Fortunately, I just felt the edge with my hand and didn't cut myself! Can happen to any of us!
My worst cut was actually with a mandolin slicer (not a knife), I was cutting thick potato slices (1/4 inch).when my hand slipped, I sliced a chunk off my thumb (to the bone)…blood everywhere. My poor wife was 7 months pregnant with twins and had to take me to the ER…LOTS OF STITCHES LOL
Glad it was just a break, crappy was to get time off though? And yes, being a fairly new sub, I was indeed wondering what was up? My knife goes on the night stand next to me and my other EDC when I go to bed that way I know right where it's at
From the hospital 🤦🏻♂️Holy Shi+. Well, I’m sorry you got injured but that really was a freak accident. Glad Frankie was there!!! That was a sharp blade. 😬
I have had a couple different flippers do that to me, not as bad, but I got lucky. Also had some knives with weak detents clipped to the wrong part of the pocket (so the edge/side of pocket doesn’t help keep it closed) get me before too. Probably a good idea to always remove the knife from the pocket before you take the pants off. So that its checked and set correctly before you pull the clothes on, then you can put it in correctly after being dressed.
I was looking for your most recent videos yesterday (3/31/2024) and noticed none published in 3 weeks, now this. You are very fortunate a little to the left or right, would be a whole different story. You would have been yelling to get a bag of ice,😮, they can stitch it back on. Now, about the video on Dicks sporting, you think they were listening 😂. Seriously, glad you’re okay. Peace!
I cut myself with 3 different knives in less than a week. None required stitches, and they were all fixed blade knives. Esee 6, Cold Steel mini Tac Tanto, and a Tramontina machete were the blood getters. 😆 Superglue works well for stopping blood loss on small cuts. Just make sure the wound is clean before sealing it up with glue. Amazon sells butterfly closures fairly cheap. Something like 7 dollars for 100.
Josh Balay (Jimislash) hates the Kershaw Blur. Every time he opens his up, he winds up cutting himself. I had a bad experience with my ZT 0450, but adjusted the detent to correct the problem. Just remember...be safe when playing with stabby stuff.
Ouch ! ouch ! ouch ! ouch ! I cut my hand grabing my pm2's blade. It was open. In my backpack and I reached for it. I WONT BE DOING THAT AGAIN ! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha I have never had a knife open in my pocket ? That is a strange phenomenon 😮?
Dang buddy those are real ones, the last time it happened to me it was 6 stitches ( small but deep). First William of Williams knife live, now you, As i told William they can get sneaky sometimes. But really sooner or later it happens, it happens to us all so it seems.
I also got a small cut from a Case fixed blade last night. All knives, no matter what the type, can cut you. I'll be 67 this month, so I could blame old age, but it was just me being careless each time.
That’s impressive. I myself always put my knife of the day in my valet tray at night. With no alcohol I highly doubt you’ll drop your pants for me in Atlanta huh? 🥺👎🏼
when one is young and dumb, one gets a few scars. in some places they do not fade away strange enough. have a 50 yo scar between my thumb and index finger. ten others all over has just been kind and said goodbye, but this fella, no ;)
That is why I don’t like tip up pocket knives. They are all the rave and everybody seems to like them now but I never have a tip down the knife is much safer for the user. I did the exact same thing except I put my hand in my pocket and the knife had opened since then I only have tip down Which is inconvenient because most people make their knives tip 😢up now because it’s popular.
Gotta get rid of that knife now. It has a taste for blood, it'll keep coming back for more. Glad you are ok! Question: was it a factory sharp edge or a Bird sharp edge?
I filleted my arm while opening a box of caulk at work with my Cold Steel 4max dlt exclusive had to get 14 stitches and was scared of that chunky thing so I put it away and forgot about it then a buddy of mine wanted a Cold Steel so I sold it to him.
Spent 30 minutes sharpening a knife on my wicked edge until it was razor sharp. Had the knife in my right hand as I pushed up from the chair. It buried itself an inch into my calf and I didn’t even feel it. I felt the blood dripping down my leg. The only awkward part was going to the hospital to explain that I had stabbed myself, but they did not need to consult psychiatry. Let me explain…
I heard that to summon a demon you have to offer blood and then call them by their real name 😈 just kidding we know Frankie is a Angel 😇 Glad you are healing up 🔪🪵
I cut myself with my Esse Izula the day it came in the mail. I have a scar in the same place as Frankie! Ouch! Be careful with that one. Still a little anxious every time I pick it up.
Bird if you feel like you're in danger hold up 3 fingers . I will get you help.!!! Frankie doesn't have to know..😂😂😂👊🏼🍻🍻
Tim Taylor got a safety award for "realistic looking accidents" (as examples to avoid them) :)
Glad you're ok!
Nice! the first thing that popped into my head was Doug, saying "it will Kill!" Sorry!
Glad to hear you are feeling better.
🎼Sunday Bloody Sunday!🤣 Beware of Slicey!!!🤣
They need to give you some free knives for not mentioning their product.
Byrd attempted a self circumcision lol... glad to hear your ok...
I got into the habit of always taking my pocket knife out of my pocket when home for the evening. Not only to avoid a possible oops moment such as yours, but to also may sure it doesn’t get tossed in the washing machine! Be careful y’all!
Glad you are healing well! Take care!

We live and learm. From now on take them out your pockets before removing your pants. Bless you Bird glad you're ok now.
Glad you are healed up, and glad you are back! Missed you guys.

Yes, I keep a knife in my underwear pocket 24/7, unless I'm wearing shorts or pants. 😝😂😊 Glad you're ok 😁

I had a flipper open up in my jeans pocket , and when I dug in my pocket for change, I cut my finger pretty bad . I feel ya 😁
That's definitely one of the most unusual ways to cut oneself I've heard of! lol
Thanks for sharing (even if by force haha), and glad you're ok. 👍
Ouch! Glad y’all are back and Bird is recovering. Had a knife open in my pocket and stab my leg (Buck idk the model).
Luckily it wasn’t as bad as that!
My only carry now are lock backs. No swinging open if the blade breaks the detent with a lock back.
Jimmy Fallon

knife-pants?
"Everybody's talkin' bout my
knife-pants, I got my knife-pants, I
got my knife-pants on!!!!."
yeeeeeouch!
I'm in the club. Was refurbishing a Gerber multitool and slid the pad of my middle finger right down the blade. 4 stitches.
Glad you guys are doing well. But about knife safety, accidents do happen and just gotta be prepared for them.
missed you guys
Damn... im glad your good.
Occupational hazard, can’t count how many times I’ve sliced my flesh 😂
That’s some cut❗️
Alot of stitches.
I actually appreciate this , it really made me stop and think…❤
Looking forward to the solar eclipse video - from the park!
Good to see you back and glad you didn't hurt your self worse, I got my first stitches last year at 50 cleaning fishing string out of my 4 year old boys fishing pole

Off the emergency room again lol she just rolls her eyes
You can be as safe as possible but sometimes these things happen. Very freak accident from the sounds of it.
Moral of the lesson: lightweight knives are dangerous!😱🤣
You need to lobby your channel to provide health insurance 😂
Good clean cuts from a good sharp edge. Going to heal faster that way too.
But good that you didn't try to just take care of it at home, lots of people do that and they are silly for doing that.
I bet it's assisted open...
“Looks worse than it is, got a bunch of stitches”

One more thing! I had one of my knives open up in my pocket like that one did. Fortunately, I just felt the edge with my hand and didn't cut myself! Can happen to any of us!
I keep my EDC inside my pocket. That's just me. I don't know if that is better; but it's my thing
Me too. Lost a chunk off the tip of my ring finger.
MY 1ST SLEEPING KNIFE WAS V-TOKU-2 STRETCH 2, CURRENT, BHQ MANIX 2 LT. WT. W/M4 WITH A VINAGER WASH, NEXT WILL BE MANIX 2 LT WT IN S110 V
Glad it was just a break, crappy was to get time off though? And yes, being a fairly new sub, I was indeed wondering what was up? My knife goes on the night stand next to me and my other EDC when I go to bed that way I know right where it's at
When the real story of an injury is dull, always make up a wild, exotic, interesting story to explain it. You should know this.
Everyone has done it brother. It happens when you're a knife person 🤙 thanks for sharing guys.
From the hospital 🤦🏻♂️Holy Shi+. Well, I’m sorry you got injured but that really was a freak accident. Glad Frankie was there!!!
That was a sharp blade. 😬
I got myself with my krudo knife and needed to get my leg stitches up the tip is very sharp
Seems like if it was only partially opened only the tip was able to get you.
Not the best video to watch right before going to bed! Glad Nurse Frankie didn’t faint like I probably would have! Geez. Glad you’re on the mend…
I've cut myself lots of times, but I haven't cut anything off... Cold Steel hawkbill knives have got me a couple times.
Hey welcome back
Hello, Happy Easter... Never underestimate/take for granted "Murphy's Law", just say'n...😊 Be safe and take care, "God Bless", sincerely, Randy. 😇🙏👊
It comes with the territory! You should see my fingers... Heal well my friend!
Put that knife back in storage.
I have had a couple different flippers do that to me, not as bad, but I got lucky. But anyway I am glad you’re ok and glad to have your videos back!
OMG! That looks horrible 😳😳😳 Dammmmnnmn.
Geez if you need a break from making videos just say so, you don't have to slice your legs up. Glad you on the mend.
Safety tip take your Knifes EDC out of pockets at bedtime. Replace in morning. 👍
3rd times the charm, what would you do without Frankie 😎
i had a boker kihon cut through my pants and into my $500 office chair. It was retired immediately
I was looking for your most recent videos yesterday (3/31/2024) and noticed none published in 3 weeks, now this. Thank you for this. I have now removed, safely, my Osborne 940-1 from my athletic shorts with mesh pockets.
spyderco wouldnt do you dirty like that.
Josh Balay (Jimislash) hates the Kershaw Blur. Every time he opens his up, he winds up cutting himself. I had a bad experience with my ZT 0450, but adjusted the detent to correct the problem. Just remember...be safe when playing with stabby stuff.
Glad your doing well. Haven't had a major cut in a while. As I tell others if I'm wearing pants I have a knife on me.
That was the Strom howl miss
That’s it. I forget some here and there 🤦♀️ -Frankie
Ouch ! ouch ! ouch ! ouch ! I cut my hand grabing my pm2's blade. It was open. In my backpack and I reached for it. I WONT BE DOING THAT AGAIN ! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
I have never had a knife open in my pocket ? That is a strange phenomenon 😮?
Glad to see you 😊 with or without the stitches. We definitely noticed your absence
1. I don’t carry tip-up ; 2. I won’t buy/carry a knife without a detent that holds the blade closed. Get well/heal soon…!!
Cheeeebuzzz! Slicey slicey!
Oh, and yep, everyone should have a decent first aid kit at home and in the car.
Glad your okay, those stitches look gruesome. I am gonna guess it was a civivi
Dang buddy those are real ones, the last time it happened to me it was 6 stitches ( small but deep). First William of Williams knife live, now you, As i told William they can get sneaky sometimes. But really sooner or later it happens, it happens to us all so it seems.

I’m interested in knowing the lock type
It wasn’t magnacut it was magnum cut.
Glad you’re okay but please take your knives out of your pockets at night.
Was it the KwaiQ, with its weird little flipper tab?
You got stitches oh no 😮
Nurse Frankie!!! Rescued Bird from his pocket knife😁👍. Don’t stop carrying knives and keep making your ultra cool videos!!!
Yeah tip down carry justification. Glad you're OK
Maybe try an otf idk.
