okay so, since you're playing ULTRAKILL, here's some hints:
-Using only one weapon/weapon mod makes your "weapon freshness" go down, which can half/negate the amount of style you gain from killing enemies, so use _every_ gun/gun mod while in combat.
-if an enemy flashes yellow, that means their attack can be parried at close range(although, some enemies are harder than others). for example, Malicious Faces flash yellow before launching that lazer blast, and hitting them will deal damage and negate the attack. Filth melee attacks can also be parried.
-those enemies you dislike have their heads on their shoulders, so shoot the shoulders for maximum damage.
-coin shots automatically target weakpoints, like head/limbshots and certain enemies' weaknesses(see above, the guy with the shoulder-heads).
-certain enemies are weaker/stronger against specific weapons, so pay attention to their descriptions.
-speaking of descriptions, you should *probably* read them for more tips with certain enemies.
-Cybergrind graphics can be customized with _any image file_ from your computer. do with that what you will.

ok not every weapon, there are 2 weapons that are not good, the green railcannon and the alternate marksman (coin gun).
the green railcannon is bad because its not hitscan like the other versions of the railcannon, the damage output is slow and the only thing good is for healing.
the alternate marksman is hated cause it cant multi-shot (splits your shot into 2 and hit 2 enemies at the same time) and its inconsistent meaning you cant constantly use coins cause the shots are slow adn there is prob. even more re4asons why its bad but thats all that i can think of

The green railcannon is good for bosses because it heal and it deal more damage than the blue and red railcannon overrall, + it could be going infinitely if you parry the drill to another enemy

Tip: You can parry almost anything in the game (including the shotgun's primary fire) and if there's a yellow flash it means you need to be at close range to be able to parry the attack (like Malicious Face's beam or the Swordmachine's sword).
I don't usually comment on Merg's videos anymore but seeing Merg playing ULTRAKILL unexpectedly suprises me.

If your planning to continue this playthrough, try to shoot ur shotgun and then immediately press f to punch, it will make the shotgun bullet explosive

This was so cool merg. Here's some very useful tips to become *god*. I know this might look a bit overwhelming, but I think you should really check out the style and the shotgun sections specifically
*STYLE*
- There is a weapon freshness bar below your style. Pay attention to that. If you use the same weapon/weapon mod for too long, you won't be getting ANY style from it. The multiplier there shows how much style you're getting. Switch weapons and weapon mods very frequently and you'll be styling on 'em
- Switching weapons frequently is essential for being stylish, But moving around at high speeds and parrying stuff is also very important :)
- You can parry almost EVERYTHING in this game. Every projectile, the melee attacks of the "frogs" :) and boss attacks with a yellow flash can be parried to deal them a lot of damage. Also, you instantly heal to max hp when you parry.
*SHOTGUN*
- The shotgun is extremely powerful. Try punching immediately after shooting it and see what happens ;)
- Hold down shoot and press "E" rhythmically to switch weapon mods. You'll be firing MUCH quicker and dealing enormous damage.
- You CAN use the overpump explosion of the shotgun. The dash gives you invulnerability, so dash just before exploding it and you'll completely negate the damage ;)
- You might have noticed, but malicious faces die extremely quickly to point-blank range shotgun shots. They die to it in 3 hits. So, get up close and personal to those bois and blast them in the face >:)
*MARKSMAN REVOLVER*
- The coin is the single most complex thing in the game, which creates many opportunities for combos. But they're also kinda difficult to use, so don't get upset if you can't get the hang of them yet.
- Try getting a hang of the trajectory of the coin. When you're moving, the trajectory of the coin will be different. For example, if you're moving sideways, the coin will also go sideways. If you're going forwards or backwards, so will the coin
- When an enemy is charging up their projectile, shooting a coin at the right moment can make them go *BOOM.*
- EVERY hitscan bullet will ricochet off of the coins. Even things such as the yellow explosive projectiles of malicious faces. The bullets will increase in damage with each coin. Keep this in mind when you unlock a certain superweapon ;)
*WEAPON SYNERGY*
- In this game, almost all weapons have some kind of interaction with others. For example, you can shoot the grenades of your shotgun with your revolver, which makes them create a huge explosion. You might wanna experiment in the sandbox, as there's so much to be discovered, and the game doesn't really teach you those things.
Of course, you don't have to learn everything immediately. Take it slow. I wish you good luck with ultrakilling

Why not shoot a husk but shoot a thing in a size of a coin? - max0r also aim TO OR FOR THE COIN
Also Merg don't forget to always read the Tip of the Day in the terminal at the beggining of every single level, the hints there are pretty helpful and may teach new tech for you to do.
For example try parrying your OWN shotgun shots, shoot and immediately punch
Fun fact about the coin revolver:you can bounce ANY hitscan projectile (the only one you have rn is the revolver shot the shotgun doesn't count) meaning you can utilize the charge shot of the piercer to bounce off the coin and it does more damage (coin mechanics are very interesting and complex if I were to tell you about dead coining we would be here a while)

Hey Merg! I'm glad you like this game, it's one of my favorites, and there are some tips you can use, mostly for style.
-Below your ranking you can see a meter that changes depending of how much you have used your current weapon in a row. Switch weapons when it reaches Dull to ensure getting more style points
-You read this at the beginning of a level, but dashes make you briefly invulnerable to damage. If you time it right, you can use the pump charge's explosion without taking damage, but it's pretty hard so there's no need to use it now.
-Don't worry about using points on weapons, that's one of the main things you use them for apart from customizing colors
-You can parry almost anything (like you did with the bullets), you actually did it with some enemies but didn't notice.
If it doesn't have a blue flash before the attack (for example, the flamethrower guys had a blue flash before attacking) you can probably parry it by punching just when the enemy attacks you.
Also, try to parry your own shotgun when you fire it (any of the two) if you think you can get the timing right, that might help on some hard bosses, but again, the timing is hard.
I hope that helped at least a little bit, love your videos!
Quick addon to the last one:
Any attack that flashes yellow can be parried if you punch the enemy at the right time.
Also, if you swap between both shotgun variants at the right time, you can basically cancel their windup and chain rapid-fire shotgun shots.

Merg playing more shooter games is something I didnt expect but I'm glad is happening, Merg is gonna have alot of fun and *salt* with this one hehe.
I doubt you'll read this, but this game has crazy strategies & synergies, and coin gun is probably one of the best weapons, but its hard to use :)
As for some tips, the coin you throw have the same momentum as you had when you threw it, so if you're walking left and throwing a coin, the coin will be thrown left .
You can chain coins, the more coins you chain, the harder the redirected shot will hit
You can deflect a charged shot from the revolver on a coin, and thus you can coin-chain with a charged shot =)
Actually, the overcharge on the green shotgun can be good because as the game said, you cant take damage while dashing
You can parry most of the attacks by melee-ing (even melee attacks or boss attacks)
You can parry ... your own shotgun shots . (Shooting with a shotgun and punching just after will parry your bullets, accelerate them and make them explosive)
You can shoot the core from the core ejector shotgun thingy
There might be some tech idk about the crazy red pistol cuz I didn't even know it was in the game
You can punch your coins, they will go right into an ennemy's weakpoint, deal damage, bounce and if you shoot it, its damage multiplier will be bigger
If an ennemy's charging an attack and you shoot it at the righr timing, it'll explode
There are also many movement tips, but I'll pass on these ones for now
If a challenge seems impossible, its because this game has MANY tricks (or there might just be a way around it)
Style is designated by how much you use different weapons, if you're moving while shooting, or in the air, if you're parrying attacks etc ...
This game can be REALLY HARD ... but it is hella fun

Welp, I think that's it for now, you do not have to know everything to even finish the game (for now at least), but it makes the game more fun & fluid IMO.

Edit : another trick (I don't even know if it is a usebug or nah) is that you can shotgun swap, which means shooting with a shotgun, swapping to the other and you should be able to shoot again, that way you shkip the reloading animation
Kinda late but an easy way to ULTRARICOSHOT is to use the sharpshooter on coins. You should have it equipped after the marksman for it to be easier.
Finally, I can see this video! I wondered why the ultrakill playthrough started with limbo.

About the Pump Shotgun Explosion: I've never done this myself, but you can use the dash's invincibility to dash through your own explosion if you time it right. Dash then shoot, and you should take no damage.
If you make it explode in front of you you can't dash thru it, but you can if it's like above/below you but it's very tricky. It's easier if you dash behind while you do the explosion.

Saw this in notifications and dropped everything I was doing and immediately clicked to watch the video. Absolutely love ULTRAKILL. This game will drive you insane in the best way possible.
Some tips;
You're able to use your dash when you overcharge your shotgun to avoid the damage of the explosion entirely, while still blowing up enemies.
Basically all projectiles are able to be parried. While most weapons are hitscan (fires an instant ray that does not count as a projectile), your shotgun's own shells count as projectiles which can be parried, as do coins.
Coins don't just reflect your Marksman Revolver's bullets. Anything that's hitscan (the charge shot from the Piercer and the ricochet shot from the other revolver) are also able to bounce off of coins.
Wow. Like actually wow I'm so excited and surprised to see you play this. Can't wait for you to experience the slightly more "difficult" levels as well. Good luck!

Awesome to see more people playing this game! Also three thing about coins:
1. They are thrown based on what movements key you are pressing and where you look. Walk back and throw and you'll get a high and close coin. Forward, far but low. Move left or right, they'll fly respectively. It very consistent once you become aware
2.If you shoot it when it flashes or when it start whistling (After being in the air for a while) it will split into two shot that target different enemies (Both can't shoot the same target and only works with the revolver)
3. kinda spoils the fun but it might not dawn on you. Its down below

I used to watch your channel like 7 years back for a few years, found you through geometry dash but also watched some of your Undertale stuff at the time. Recently I've been playing quite a bit of ultrakill and with that also watched a lot of ultrakill videos. And somehow I found this video and the nostalgia is crazy, I'm gonna have to go back and watch some of your older stuff I missed now lol. Also NEVER played Undertale myself but just picked it up from steam summer sale and I'll finally try playing it soon now. Edit: I watched the entire video and Merg, you are a natural at this game. It's soo cool seeing you try out combos and things.
Here's some tips for you:
You can charge your pump shotgun 2 times and the press the Melee button (F) and press left click at the same time to punch your own shotgun shells.
Also with the coin gun, you can throw all 4 coins at once in the air and shoot to get extra damage. also like the shotgun, you can punch the coin when it flickers.

Some more tips
-If you time a dash perfectly, you won't take any damage from pumping your shotgun too much, but it'll still damage enemies around you.
-Use your variants! You're almost expected to swap between variants as prolifically as you swap weapons, if not more.
-You can melee any shotgun, without pumping it, to boost the main shell forwards as if you parried it. This gives tons of style points.
-You can chain the secondary shots of the other pistols off the coins, along with certain other weapons you'll find later in the game
Ultrakill is fundamentally a game progressed via experimentation. If you get an inkling of "Now does this work..." chances are it does. Try things out, and you'll be P-Ranking levels in no time.
For real, he's learning the mechanics so fast I can already see those videos being uploaded!
Btw to punch coins reliably Look below while in the air wait a bit then punch
This was a very fun gameplay, you got the hang of the game's pace really quick
It's nice to see more Wait of the World update gameplays from new players, the Sharpshooter gives a nice spectacle for these, seeing how you mainly used Sharpshooter and Pump Charge, I would recomend to you to use the terminals that are located before bossfights, so you can unequip weapons that you might not use for the battle, since the Act II update came out, the weapon freshness got reworked and now every time you use a weapon it "looses freshness", so you got change weapons to get the most style of it, using a different weapon renews the freshness of other weapons, and having less weapons decreases the amount of freshness lost
Hope you keep playing this game, it's one of the best games I've played in a long time

i swear that your tastes in gaming are aligned with mine-
Merg, not switching weapons makes the weapons you use more frequently give you less style points, as seen in the right of the screen (fresh, used, dull, etc), so try switching weapons frequently!
Also punching as soon as you shoot a shotgun will make a "projectile boost", which instantly throws a fast explosion forwards
Also dashing after a fully-pumped explosion from the pump shotgun will not let you take damage from the explosion, making it a good offensive tool
I think the first sentence might be mistyped, I'm pretty sure the ones you use MORE frequently give less style points.

Im quite excited to see you play Ultrakill. This game is just absolutely wild and has so many things that the game doesnt even explain, so id recommend to watch some stuff for beginners. Especially HerbMessia's video about the coins because those are really overpowered. Trav Guy's videos also get quite technical with enemies and weapons, so id recommend those aswell. Everything else should be up to you too learn, like movement and combos. I could probably rant for a while about this game but i dont wanna take some surprises for later away.

It's an extremely fun game but you need to be extremely good at the coin mechanics so it's very annoying, if you want you can play on easier and don't care about the coins but if you play on harder ones it's pretty much required
I recommend the game though

A point of advice for the future, Merg. This ENTIRE game is full of moments where you ask "Can I do this?" And the answer is almost always yes. If ever you have a crazy idea like, for instance, punching forward with melee at the exact same time you fire your shotgun, yes...that does something and it's amazing. This game encourages trying new weapons and their variants, and roping them into your arsenal to become an unstoppable killing machine, so don't be afraid to try any crazy ideas that may pop into your head.

Great video! ULTRAKILL is amazing and I hope you'll continue this playthrough. Here are some tips if you do, because this game has a lot of depth.
- Your shotgun pellets are projectiles, you can parry them.
- If you want the explosion from the green shotgun without taking damage, you can do it while dashing, since you're invincible while dashing.
- I recommend trying to get better with the green revolver variant (The one with the coins), as it's easily the most powerful tool in the game when you know what you're doing.
- Parrying fully restores your health and stamina.

Merg you can parry your own shotgun shells with careful timing and you can fire, press e, then fire again, then press e, this is to rapid fire the shotgun. Also you can use core eject and shoot it to explode it, and later in the game you get a powerful weapon which causes a huge explosion when you shoot the core eject

nice! though, you should try switching variants and weapons constantly, that will give you the most style out of anything, because your multiplier stays high, its the little thing below the style meter that says things like "dull", "used", "fresh", etc
