As a Hoosier myself, I cannot thank you enough for showing all of us the cool and unique things we have here! It sure is nice to be noticed and appreciated for once - us Hoosiers THANK YOU ROGER!!!
A friend in an archeology group had recommended one of your videos. I’ve watched several and thoroughly enjoy them. Keep up the good work, and I hope you never run out of ideas. Thanks!
I’ll run out of money, before I run out of ideas, guaranteed! 😂 I’m writing the screenplay for a deep dive on mounds and artifacts, having completed a four state adventure.
@@keithingram9695 A lot of it is sheer serendipity: I’ll go looking for one thing, and find something else. Then there’s the good people of TH-cam, that watch my videos, and suggest things I’ve never heard about! The old county museums, historical societies, and library archives, have been a treasure trove.
Another of your enjoyable videos. One of these days I will be moving back north. Whenever that is, I plan to do my own tour of Southern Indiana to see these places you feature in your videos. I also love the snippets you show of the roadways you travel. I miss riding down the backroads of Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. To me, its beautiful country.
We are planning road trips for 2025 to take with our grandson and basing them on your presentations, the problem is deciding which ones to choose, since you've given us sooo many options, thanks Roger, you da man!
I really enjoy your videos. My husband is contemplating changing work location and Indiana came up from Louisville jobs and bragged how beautiful Indiana is from your videos.
I hope they erect a statue to honour you Roger 🤞 You're putting Indiana on the map for us foreigners who may have overlooked the state without your TH-cam channel 👍👌
I am so lucky and happy to find this channel. I absolutely love everything you do. I've said this before but my favorite ones are you showing off southern Indiana and up through the middle of the state. I been through there with my dad growing up he was a truck driver and every time he was heading to South Indiana I'd always go, but I also love the rest of your state. It's just so beautiful I'm glad being in Ohio we are kinda neighbors
Alexandria is also home of the Gaither Gospel group.. Went to my senior yr at Elwood 3 miles west. I still have an agate rock chess set I bought at Blue Springs cavern in 2012, while taking the boat ride they turned off the lights to show how dark it was, some one farted in the dark... laughter was louder than the echo!!!
Many years ago, a friend of mine bought a chess set from blue Springs, still has it. I’ll tell you a funny story about Blue Spring caverns. I called up the folks there, told them I wanted to make a movie and it would cost them nothing: free advertising. They told me to come early in the morning, and they’d give me a personalized tour. It was an awesome and quiet tour, just me and one cave guide, and we exchanged cave stories as we floated along. Near the end of the tour, he said, “Some people say this cave is haunted. A few of us have experienced some things.” It wasn’t too much longer, and we both started hearing what sounded like high-pitched screaming! We just looked at each other. It got louder and louder as we moved along. Finally, the source of the screaming was identified: another tour boat with a failing motor bearing! 😂 “Man, you had me going!”
@@AdventureswithRogerI trust you enjoyed it. The whole state is beautiful, really. In November, we'll be taking a trip on the Great River Hwy which runs along the Mississippi River. There should be some spectacular views. We also plan to catch some of the attractions you've featured next time we head south. Love your channel.
@@angietorok8389 I was along the Mississippi River, a few weeks ago: I finally climbed the huge mound at Cahokia! I really thought I’d done something, until this one girl did stair laps to the top, four times, while I was there! 😂
Nice video. I learned several things about my even after 65 years. While you were in New Castle, you didn't cover the high school gym, the biggest in the US. Fun fact about the shoe at Steve's hotel, the repaint it for whatever school he's coaching.
Great video! I've lived here all my life, didn't know about most of these spots. Btw Jug rock is the largest free standing table rock East of the Mississippi, not West of the Allegheny mountains.
I’ve toured the entire state, for over 50 years. Here’s my opinion for what it’s worth. Northern Indiana has its beach, excellent museums, Mounds State Park, covered bridges, round barns, Amish food. Central Indiana has many fine museums, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, NFL and NBA sports, huge conventions, and a narrow band of excellent places to hike, to the west. Three nice waterfalls, including Williamsport, Cataract and McCormicks Creek, and Parke County’s covered bridges / mills. Southern Indiana is a much more wild place, than the rest of the state. Thousands of wild caves, all the show caves, huge waterfalls, rolling hills, incredible hiking, tons of history, and many quirky roadside attractions. Not to mention: many prehistoric settlements, the largest at Angel Mounds. I know people that are terrified of leaving the city, where cell phones don’t work, and others that love leaving the city behind and seeing beautiful, untamed places. Depends on what a person’s looking for! 🙂
Rodger what makes Indiana so special there is a lot of history there what do you think brought all the history and why did the Giants settle there and why do the Native Americans have such a big presence
Not sure how I can get in contact with you Roger, but my girlfriend works with a land title association in Indiana and she's super geeky about old property maps, plats, historic locations etc. She was wanting to put together some kind of tour of historic sites in Indiana for her pals in her business who are super geeky about this stuff too...me included.
