Bangs, or fringe as they're also called, can accentuate some of the best features of your face, but only if they're cut and styled correctly. That's why it's important to figure out your face shape and get the right hairstyle, including the right type of bangs, for you. To help out, we brought in Brian Bode, the lead artistic director at KMS and owner of Oya Salon in Monterey, CA, to show us which bangs look best for a square, round, oval and heart-shaped face. Take a look and tell us what you think!

Is your width (Measure from the side of the face over across you nose, not your fourhead xD,)
Shorter than your face is long? If so, then you have a oval face shape. ^.^
If you have a round shape your width and longness will match

I am a beautician and have been practicing for about 35 years. This man is blind. He has described each face shape incorrectly. The first girl has a perfect oval. The second girl has an oblong face. The third girl has a short forehead and should not even wear bangs. The third girl actually has a round face and should wear her bangs behind her ears. Geez. No wonder so many women hate beauty shops!!!

Oval is more like an egg shape and round is like an orange.
With absolutely no experience in beauty or hair, I can tell the first woman's face shape is oval, second is oblong, and fourth is certainly not heart. I know face shape can be subjective to an extent, as I've been told oval, round, and diamond for my face, but goodness gracious!

That wasn't heart. That was pear. Heart shaped faces carry their weight in the cheekbones and temples, and have pointed chins. Reese Witherspoon is the standard for heart shaped.

I'm a hairdressing in Australia Anna...and bangs are going crazy at the moment here...Yours look amazing really suit your face shape...My wife has similar at the moment...I often look at hairdressers work on youtube and Brian did a stunning job.!!

The most important shape for bangs was missed: long face. Since this face need to "Cut" the length of the face it's usually the one that mostly requires bangs..

Celia McKinney Yeah, If you get bangs, it should be able to even out your long face shape. This guy actually didn't go over the long face shape, but bangs do help cover up the longness of your face. You should go check out some people with long faces that have bangs. Im an asian, so I would personally recommend Hani of EXID. You should try just taking your hair and lift them up to make fake 'bangs'.
