The issue is really the games and the hardware limitations. Everyone can't stand standalone games cause they're not enough power or good games to play unless you're ready for stutter frames, lag, and terrible graphics. The Quest 3 was a step up sure, but it won't beat PCVR in terms of quality. But at the same time, no one want to buy a $2000 PC and a $1000 VR headset cause there are no games really worth while to play as of recent. The push for standalone in my mind is great, but we're in a experimental age of VR. So there will be growing pains and sacrifices needed to be made. Most gamers now using the Quest 2 or 3 due to the lack of competitors and PCVR headsets costing WAY too much. Not to mention a lot of Oculus software sucks for the most part. At this point, in the next 4 years or so, we'll see more headsets rise and try to be at least mid-comp specs wise. But until then, we'll have to deal with the awkwardness we have in VR. Or we can see these big companies, like Sony, to take a chance at gaming in VR but on console. I will admit though, it's been fun as hell playing good VR games, but none have come to the innovation of Half-Life: Alyx. Maybe some try, like Blade and Sorcery, Boneworks, Contractors VR, all these games try to capture what Half-Life: Alyx had for innovation, but can't capture that lightning in the bottle. At the end of it all, we need more game devs to push what VR can do instead of "porting" games into VR. I say porting loosely because a lot of games just go the route of "Game title, but in VR"! Which in my mind is not good. There should also be a huge push in affordability and maybe some VRs being made for consoles. That would push a hell of a lot more than having an Oculus Store.
While I was watching I had no idea this only had 65 subscribers. This video feels very polished. TH-cam has recommended small channels to me before but they were hard to listen toto. Great job. I’ll be subscriber 66 : )
I for absolute the life of me can’t figure out why a company worth billions of dollars can’t figure out that their shitty Meta Horizon Worlds is total garbage that’s only hurting VR as a whole. Why are they trying to force people to it? It’s so bad. If they were smart they would be burying it, not trying to send people to it. Every review I’ve seen for it has been negative. It’s just a bad experience that’s past the point of repair or redemption. Please Save VR and bury this terrible excuse for a game forever and redesign the entire OS with no reference to it at all ever again.
VR is at a great place for anyone wanting to make games right now. Since quality games is currently the limiting factor all the SDK’s are free and super polished. You can literally set up a simple MR environment, full hand tracking or even full body tracking, in like 10 mouse button clicks cause they have streamlined it so much. Sure, once you have your basic environment you need to get down and start coding and actually making your game, but then it’s no different to making any other game

Rec Room doesnt get enough props for being on most platforms and being the real Metaverse, Meta Worlds took that and ran with it
