I’m sorry I don’t have much to say about it. It took me from 1995 to 2007 to find the main problem is Windows. I then switched to a Mac and never looked back. They just work.
when you have the window up for the com port also look at the far right tab. It is 'Power Management'. Open it and turn off "Allow Windows to shut unit down when not in use' or similar words.
Thanks Tom, I’m using Flrig and hopefully I got my issues fixed. Flrig works fine with radio and computer but I’m getting intermittent issues where the radio keys up but no audio is getting to the radio or the Rigblaster Blue.
Hamlib works. What is more, I have not looked up to see my rig transmit again. Since I believe that every transceiver deserves finals that are not burnt up, I will stay with Hamlib.
Well hello again. okay with FLRIG setup and on a blank spot I tested triggering PTT and it did key the TX. FLDIGI indicating rig data but now to find a quality USB cable. Waterfall nothing showing and yet FLRIG shows signal strength. No time for quitting so the project continues. Many thanks.
Hi. My way to use fldigi is to let fldigi to control the rig. Yes, it is not convinient as flrig, because we cannto change/control much of the rig, but for the fldigi purpose, it is enough to change frequency. BTW, we still can change the rig's settings, such as filters or RF gain, directly. One more thing. make sure only one application is accessing the com port, or you can try to set flrig and fldigi to access the com port at the same time., at the same baud rate. Thank you and keep safe, 73.
Hi Tom, I have learnt the best way to sort this is to save every different software interface package into the memory on the SD card of the 7300, I just pull up whatever I am using, WSJT etc. saves a lot of heart ache at least for the rig, it also seems to set the software back to the settings you had initially, however some like your COM port very occasionally do get corrupted but at least having the rig settings always correct helps. Never really had a problem since I started doing this, better than writing the settings down in a note book.... Cheers Malc PS Have you ever tried FreeDV.. if not then for a brain puzzler this cant be beaten... worth a video. Ta
I enjoyed the video, but the only way that I can get FLRIG & FLDIGI to communicate is in fldigi RIG CONTROL to check the box that enables flrig xcvr control with fldigi as client. But, even when I get flrig and fldigi to communicate with each other and the rig settings are both the same, now I can get no output on transmission. So, I'm working on that. Thanks for you efforts es 73.
Using version 4.1.18 and using IC-705 alpha config. The program seems to working fine for me, sitting here decoding CW on 14.057.50. Hope you get around to doing a video on Dstar and the IC-705 settings. I’m registered on Dstar and been trying for about two weeks with no luck with Dstar. Once again thank you for your very informative videos, you produce excellent videos. 73 wd4dda
Tom I am running the latest version of FlDigi and FlRig, I have my comport set for 9600 Baud on my comport and in FlRig my 7300 works with this setting. But I find almost every time I take a windows 10 update some of my sound settings get changed between FlDigi and my computer so I have had to change settings every time there was a major update to windows 10. 73 WD8JVV Ed
Hi Taino. Unfortunately, FLDigi does offer way too many options for this. I need a little more information to offer any help on this. Are you using FLDigi stand alone? Or, are you using it with FLRig to control the radio?
Hi there, I have latest fldigi, but when I got to weather fax I dont get all the normal buttons for alignment and the signal bars like in other videos, what could I be doing wrong, cheers Col
Hi Colin. I'm afraid I haven't played with the weather fax functions in FLDigi. So, I'm not really sure what your issue might be. If I get a chance, I'll try to check it out.
My Fldigi controlled by Flrig works well enough. But as it sits idle the screen fills with garbage. The other problem is greatly reduce transmitter power when transmitting. Win 10 Xiegu G90 and latest Digi programs. Anyone help? Thanks
I had a corrupted video driver and in Device Manager, it said the device was not working properly. That's the only time I have seen this. I reinstalled the driver and all was fine.
I’m sorry to hear that. I never did make a follow up to that video. I installed a newer version of FLDigi at that time and that solved my issue. I recently made a video using FLDigi in a RTTY contest and it worked fine for me.
@@HamRadioA2Z a friend of mine had a similar experience on Ft8 with WSJT recently. He installed the newest version of WSJT and worked like a champ. I just have very little patience with computer stuff. Thanks for posting the videos for sure. I’m about to start down the 705 trail next.
It looks like a good software FLRIG and FLDIGI but it's not so straight forward, I have JTDX, WSJT-X, CWSkimmer and others working with the radio and all of them are able to comunícate with radio this one it doesn't. Another thing, on Device Manager / Ports the speed is not relevant, the APP Speed overrides this one.
I am glad I am not the only one that has these troubles.
I’m sorry I don’t have much to say about it. It took me from 1995 to 2007 to find the main problem is Windows. I then switched to a Mac and never looked back. They just work.
And the good news is that FLDigi/FLRig are available for Mac and Linux.

Have you done an update to this video? I'm having problems trying to configure FLDIGI for decoding CW.
I had my PC set up for Winlink. There was an update to Windows 10 and I hot been able to get it to work after that.
thanks

I can’t get the 7300 to work on Fldigi no matter what I do. I’m going back to another radio with a signaLink. It just works.

I made that video quite a while ago. There have been multiple updates to the FL series of programs since then. I should probably do an update.
My problem was the same EXCEPT the computer is Raspberry Pi
