One of the biggest reasons why I find reonagi so compelling is that their personalities make the relationship drama make total sense, especially with Reo's emotional breakdown. Nagi's the first thing he's ever wanted and had to chase to get. He has no idea how to handle not being able to give Nagi what he wants or be what he wants, and in his eyes, if he can't do that, then Nagi won't have a reason to stay with him. It sends him into total panic, and we GET why it would happen. We see in his backstory that Reo lives in a world where love is conditional. His parents spoil him with things and expect obedience in return. His classmates want his money and time in exchange for their friendship. So even though he's spoiling Nagi because he loves him, he's also doing it out of desperation. He's trying to ensure that Nagi will put up with the 'trouble' of being with him and doing what he wants, in return for the benefits. And at least in the anime, he's still stuck in this mindset. He believes he needs to be 'good enough' for Nagi, which is really not the kind of mentality you should have in regards to your partner. It's definitely not Nagi's fault, or anyone's fault for that matter, because he has a good point that they need to be apart in order to grow, but dear lord he does NOT convey this properly, and he definitely had no idea just how much Reo truly loves him and how much their separation hurt him, especially with how he does it.
I was surprised to see Khun/Bam here! I'm happy that they got a chance to shine this video. Also yes, Nagi/Reo is one of the most explicit couples without actually being together I've ever seen in a non-BL

Where have you been all my life!? Began watching anime in the 90s but mostly lapsed in the early 00s cause life and other priorities. Last year i jumped back in the deep end and... OMG, i fucking adore the depth of analysis you do into but also the sheer volume of titles you cover.
I beg you to start reading Tower of God from the beginning, not only will you see how Khun & Bam interact with each other in a deeper level but also the level of detail, yearning, and devotion there is on Khun's side as well as how strong their bond becomes as the manhwa progress. It's honestly top tier writing because i don't ship character easily and by the time i knew it i realised they're so good together naturally and subtly. Not to mention the anime didn't do Khun's character well the development in his character regarding being close to Bam psychically is gradual. Also the manhwa itself is top tier world building and characters and the anime didn't do it one bit of justice except OST.

20:03 I WASNT EXPECTING TO SEE THIS YOOOO THANK YOU now excuse me as I micro analyze their dynamic bc I’m having a hyperfixation with this anime and I have no one to talk about it :’) (Sorry in advance bc this is gonna be VERY LONG lmao) I ALWAYS ship the main ship, I usually like the dynamic of protagonist x antagonist but don’t see it as romantic. THIS is the only time I had questioned if I actually shipped the main ship bc of how MUCH BETTER I thought Jun’s development with Hikaru was compared to Aki (RIP Aki fans Jun stole the whole spotlight after ep 6 lmao) If I had a nickel for every time Hikaru made friends with someone that wanted to kill him I would have 2 nickel, as you can guess Jun was one of them lol Before Jun realized he cared for Hikaru (I mark that as episode 6) we still can see some obsession in the form of Jun being obsessed with wanting to have the power Hikaru has, I’ll mention that I’m pretty sure Jun wanted the trigger arm to get rid of his illness as A LOT of dialogue suggested that is the case. In episode 6 Jun states the fact that Amaryllis is just using Aki, almost in a mocking tone as he isn’t taking the situation seriously bc to him the trap is obvious and only idiots would fall for it.. So after Hikaru shows how much of an IDIOT he can be Jun says he won’t let Hikaru go with them which Hikaru responds with something among the lines of “Why should I need your permission?” We see Jun actually be taken of guard and immediately after go back to the “you’re my prey, I’ll be the one to kill you” speech. I think this is the point Jun realized that he had started caring for Hikaru and is immediately hit with the fact that Hikaru has no reason to listen to him as they aren’t even friends. Going from wanting to kill Hikaru to subconsciously caring for him, I think, makes sense in Jun’s situation. Considering he would usually stay inside and always be looked down upon bc of his illness, probably not having any interactions with people his age; when he starts spending time with someone his age that actually doesn’t look down upon him it makes sense that even if his intentions were to kill Hikaru in the start he would start to care for him as the first and only person he can barely consider a “friend”. From this point Jun starts being more useful, and also more plot relevant let’s goooo. In episode 9 after he shows off Asclepius Hikaru says that he’s so strong followed with Alma saying that he’s incredible. I think this is the only time in the anime we see Jun flustered and be genuinely happy in a way that isn’t manic, I guess having someone look up to him and compliment him would be new to him in his situation. In episode 10 we see him caring for Hikaru in the form of not wanting to leave Hikaru to Aki and taking offense to little things like sinis/dex (idk which one lol) pulling Hikaru and such. In the fight with Fist he tells Hikaru to just get out of there even when it’s pretty obvious Fist is overpowered. After Hikaru dies; which leads us to episode 11, aka MY FAVORITE EPISODE. I was so surprised that we got a more Jun focused episode after episode 9 but I wasn’t complaining tbh since Jun is my fav character (if you haven’t realized yet lol) and episode 9 didn’t have much for character development and was more about the backstory of the Kagami siblings in general. I think Jun’s development in this episode is incredible being a more slow paced episode and having, in my opinion, a really good setup that made Jun deserving of becoming a leader and being the one to revive Hikaru. I could talk about it longer but this comment is already long enough so I’ll just talk about the parts that relate to Jun and Hikaru’s relationship. After they are out of the rubble Jun asks the others to take him to see Hikaru which is when he actually gets to see Hikaru’s corpse. Up to this point the whole episode he looked really tired and sad but when he sees Hikaru’s corpse he looks DESTROYED but actually manages to stay calm and find a solution! Even asking Aki for help, he gives up the thing that he had been trying to get for so long which is a cure to his illness. Him being willing to give Asclepius up for Hikaru really shows how much Hikaru meant to him. When he gives his speech about Hikaru he mentions Hikaru always ended up getting ahead of him and now him suddenly dying is troublesome “I can’t move forward because of you” I think this can mean Jun has associated the idea of moving forward with Hikaru and Hikaru has become someone Jun needs to move forward and change, well you can interpret this line in different ways I wanted to mention it since I think it’s pretty cool. One final thing I’ll mention is when they are reviving Hikaru, Jun for the first time calls Hikaru a friend and also calls him by his first name. This might be a coincidence but I noticed Jun repeated after Aki both when he called Hikaru a friend (Aki had said “I just want to save my friend” right before) and by his first name (Aki had said “Hikaru…” right before this) I think this can be bc Jun doesn’t understand how a friendship is supposed to be built since as I mentioned he wouldn’t have gone outside a lot and hadn’t had any friendships. The thing he knows is that he wants to be friends with Hikaru and since he sees Aki can call Hikaru a “friend” he repeats after her, at least that’s my interpretation I may be reading way too deep in it lol. If you noticed I explained the situation from Jun’s perspective, that’s bc if I were to consider their dynamic as romantic I think it would be more one sided as I’m pretty sure Hikaru himself would favor Aki while Jun getting more attached to Hikaru as his only friend would make sense. IM SO SORRY IF YOU READ ALL THAT IT WAS SO LONG FORGIVE ME I could have made this even LONGER and I’m pretty sure I forgot some stuff, but I won’t torture you more. My favorite ship of 2024 in non BL was definitely Veltol and Gram. I didn't expect Gram to be so calm and mature in vision of the one that was the pure evil he once fought. I mean ofc also because of his state at that time, no longer feeling like a hero, but them bonding and starting to build a relationship through mature conversation was definitely very wholesome. It was pretty interesting how he observed Veltol and even "carried out an order" on Veltols will, without making a sarcastic comment. And for the opening: To be FAIR: The girl was ALSO naked in the changed opening for the later episodes, so that argument falls a bit off. But yeah, it was VERY WEIRD to see 2 boys in naked fanservice in a show that (i thought) would be shounen as a genre.

Khun definitely did too much when it came to Rachel personally the minute I suspected her of killing Bam, her days were numbered but it wouldn't take me 6 years to get it done.
I think it was explained that the reason why Khun didn't kill Rachel for so long was because his other teammates didn't fully suspect Rachel of killing Bam as much as he did, and he didn't know how to get them to believe him, or simply didn't trust them enough to tell them of his suspicions. Bam was the glue of the team and by extension, Rachel became a big motivator for them to stay together, and Khun couldn't afford for the group to fall apart. There was also the uncertainty of what Bam would think. As much as he hates it, she was the centre of his world and he knows that killing her would probably crush him. Khun loved Bam more than he hated Rachel, and that's why he tolerated her for so long.
I agree with all except Jayce and Vicktor, they are very affectionate and their ending is pretty suggestive but this is from a show that doesn't shy away from homosexual relationships, and as a male is good to see friends with no romantic feelings that embrace each other and are able to show more emotion to each other than a "that sucks man"

Khun definitely did too much when it came to Rachel personally the minute I suspected her of killing Bam, her days were numbered but it wouldn't take me 6 years to get it done.
I think it was explained that the reason why Khun didn't kill Rachel for so long was because his other teammates didn't fully suspect Rachel of killing Bam as much as he did, and he didn't know how to get them to believe him, or simply didn't trust them enough to tell them of his suspicions. Bam was the glue of the team and by extension, Rachel became a big motivator for them to stay together, and Khun couldn't afford for the group to fall apart. There was also the uncertainty of what Bam would think. As much as he hates it, she was the centre of his world and he knows that killing her would probably crush him. Khun loved Bam more than he hated Rachel, and that's why he tolerated her for so long.

I agree with all except Jayce and Vicktor, they are very affectionate and their ending is pretty suggestive but this is from a show that doesn't shy away from homosexual relationships, and as a male is good to see friends with no romantic feelings that embrace each other and are able to show more emotion to each other than a "that sucks man"
