How to use Sat Nav on driving test UK // Driving instructor talk-through

It's been a few years now since the introduction of the Sat-Nav into the driving test. Some people still find the thought of them scary.
That shouldn't be the case. If anything, having a Sat-Nav on your driving test will make it easier as you will be able to see where you are going in advance, a big advantage if you're not familiar with the area.
Not all tests will have Sat-Nav. Currently, about 4 out of 5 tests will have a Sat-Nav and the rest will have the traditional independent driving where you will be asked to follow a set of directions or signs.

Some really useful info there good video. Ironically following the sat nav on test, is probably the only occasion you follow a sat nav without knowing your destination, i e, in real life you know where you want to be but not sure how to get there.

Ive got a question. Do satnavs lie interms of distance. (Ik its dumb) but sometimes the yards it desplays are way shorter than the actual distance. Like i saw a road sign that said traffic lights in 150 yards and i looked at my satnav and it said at the lights turn left and it said it was in 290 yards.

As long as you don’t make driving faults, you shouldn’t fail or get a fault.
