London never stays the same. All over the English speaking countries, there have been tales of "London burning." Imagine that, even after all these years, we English-speakers remember. Most recently, there was the 2nd World War and London absorbed some considerable Luftwaffe strafing. Much of old London went in that war. Imagine what it'd be like today if that war had never happened. We'd be having London still a Victorian-ish but sophisticated city. But I digress. London has been rebuilding itself for centuries, not out of whim but out of necessity. Remember the tower of London? Cause you do. Well, look's to me like London's obsession with high-rises is coming full circle, don't you think?

Always loved tall buildings from childhood. I used to wish London had more tall buildings. Guys Tower seemed quite impressive at the time. The Nat West Tower seemed a great step forward. But now I think you can have too much of a good thing. Nearly all the towers now are weird and bent shapes as they all want to be iconic. The square mile skyline looks a mess. There are too many clusters scattered all over the place which spoils the character of some areas. If this was a sim city game I would go back to 1980 and start again.

Then you must stay there, and continue to celebrate your good fortune in living somewhere that gives you so much pleasure. I'm sure it must have improved greatly since Mugabe was removed from office, after 37 years, in 2017. Talk about overstaying his welcome!
I hope the population and birthrates are recovering from all the famine-related deaths linked to his economic and agricultural policies, not to mention his outrageous attempt to defrauding the electoral process, which seemed to fail badly, marking the beginning of his end. Still, a military coup isn't the ideal way achieve a change of leadership. But if needs must! Anyway I'm sure that's all in the past, and the future will be abundant.
With kind regards from London 🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇬🇧
