Beth, the show runner, said in an interview that in previous seasons that they felt they had to write in a flashback in every episode even when they didn't actually need it. And she didn't want to be tied to that with the flash forwards. So they're only putting in flash forwards when it works for the storyline.
Oliver stabbing those guards was one of the most intense moments and goes to show you don't need the flash forwards to make this show amazing, this season seems fire I hope flash can gain even more momentum as well.
I honestly don't like the flash forward as its either a red herring or something completely pointless or completely stupid. I'd much rather watch Prison scenes than anything else at the moment cause Felicity us just annoying.

It’s very possible that Stephen leaves and that they kill his character this very season or he remains locked up and the next season would take place in the future. Stephen stated in an interview "I want the writers to treat this season like if it were the last" so I think he might have been talking about himself and wants to move on. He’s been playing this role for quite a while now. Personally that’s not what i wish and I’ll probably stop watching if he leaves but it’s very likely.

Goyer ( Man of Steel & The Dark Knight writer ) was developing a Green Arrow film, in which Oliver was imprisoned and had to get out of a huge Max prison (named "The Slab" aka Slabside Penetentiary). The writers have said that season 7 is divided in 3 story arc (prison, redemption, final boss fight).
I think that Felicity has seen results when she, oliver, diggle and the others fought crime. They took them down, saved lives etc. and to get thanked for it oliver is in jail, william is gone, and the people that are suppose to protect them don't care. I think felicity is just fucking done with the bullshit

Don't really know who could be in level 2, but if we try to pick dangerous foes who we already saw in the show : - Count Vertigo (arrested in season 3, episode 1) - China White (arrested in season 6 with Cupid and the rogue agent) - The Huntress (arrested in season 2) - Komodo (a bounty hunter archer who almost beat Oliver in season 3, episode 2) - Deadshot (wishful thinking - it's confirmed they never found his body... but I think the CW is not allowed to bring him back)
I think with this lyla stuff will lead to ARGUS becoming a villain organization. In the flash forwards why would felicity put GPS and lead william to ROY with all the green arrow equipment? So maybe in the future ARGUS hunts down vigilantes and meta-humans. Oliver, felicity and the rest of team arrow are on the run or hiding. remember in legends zari is from the future where ARGUS is like HYDRA.

Solid episode imo . I wasn’t too big of a fan of the Lyla-Diggle stuff , it felt abrupt and out of character for John to suddenly lose faith in his wife , I felt he would have understood that Lyla would have her reasons after all this time though I wonder if this “something bigger” Lyla is trying to find out is related to Diaz or maybe something we will deal with later on in the season . The Star City stuff I enjoyed . I continuously like the lack of a better word ,gimmick of muting the fights with Silencer ,it’s cool so far. I’m also liking determined Felicity and I understand why she is doing what she is doing even though she may be going too far . I was confused initially why she lied to Watson and Dinah but it all leads back to the discussion she had with Watson , she is doing things out of the system because she trusted for it to catch Diaz and it hasn’t and now she’s going back to the vigilante way of doing things as opposed to Watson who believes in the system anyway , the compound that Diaz got made a serum that gave him Superstrength , I wonder if it’s some version of Mirakuru?. The prison stuff was my favorite part of the episode ..Oliver’s stuff was nicely paralleled with Felicity and showed how far he is willing to go for his family .. it was nice to see Oliver have that ruthless edge to him again and looking forward to Level Two and meeting “The Demon

I'm thinking they're called the longbow hunters because that's the name of the comic they are in. I never read it. But I don't think they were called lbh in it. I'm probably wrong. Why do all these villains have such a hard on abt getting Oliver to cross the line, be a murderar, telling him he's not a hero??? Oliver has crossed the line many times over the years, he has murdered people before so what are they out to prove??? Diaz dosen't even have any motives to why he want's to hurt Oliver and his family, they just come off as just being crazy to me. I think Felicity is just going to get darker, she might even end up killing, if she does I hope it's Diaz, but I have this awful feeling that Diaz is going to do something to her to really push her over the the edge into the darkness , maybe he really hurts her or goes after her mom and dad or smth. Diggle questioning J.J was so funny, he wasen't the least bit scared but he was of Layla. I really love the prison scenes I think Oliver's fighting scenes are incredible, SA was def the right choice for this role.

I noticed that I only was interested in the new Arrow, this episode didnt have him, or anything Arrow related so I was kinda meh about this episode. But I guess this story needed to be told so we can focus on the better stuff, Oliver doing parkour was pretty boss tho.
Stanley = DEMON It's good to know that a break-out attempt will be made episode 6; it's called "The Slabside Redemption" a reference to the shawshank redemption :) Demon's are usually satanic and can manipulate their subject really easily. Just a thought that has been going around/
I gotta say that I'm not really feeling any of the villains. I don't want Diaz as a villain again and the "Longbow Hunters" (in name only) are pretty lame. Also are there still bows in the show called Arrow? I know we have mystery Green Arrow but for the last couple seasons I feel like the show forgets that Oliver is an archer.
Ok, so are the writers trying to make Felicity somewhat villainous? This is two episodes in a row now where she's used and betrayed someone who was trying to help her out. One thing that does make sense is that it's Rene that's working with her, as he's been a straight up vigilante since the moment we met him. Thing is, that being the case, Felicity's actions seem all the more questionable when even he's questioning whether or not they're taking things a bit too far. I mean, torture has to be the next step, right? Silencer isn't going to just tell them what they want to know. There's going to have to be torture involved, and you'd think it'd have to be a bit extreme to get the job done with someone like that. For all of the times that Felicity has mentioned justice, nothing she's doing indicates that she gives a damn about seeking justice. She's on a straight up revenge trip. The one thing that keeps Felicity from being a complete villain is that taking Diaz out would help protect her family. Then again, now that the world knows that Oliver is the Green Arrow, you'd figure his family would have a target on them anyway.

But, if you want to talk about what is different about what Oliver and Felicity are doing, then how about this? Oliver is actively seeking to minimize collateral damage. Yes, Oliver framed a guard to have him removed from the prison, but Brink and company would have straight up killed the guard if Oliver hadn't. In contrast, Felicity teams up with people actively trying to help her, only to stab them in the back.

Not because of what she said to Felicity, but for the whole sitting back and letting Diaz run roughshod over the people of Star City until Oliver gave her what she wanted thing. The only reason I brought up Felicity betraying her was because it shows how Felicity is acting. 2. Watson is hardly the only person Felicity has betrayed. She betrayed Diggle in the same manner. She agreed to work with them as a part of their team, only to betray them in the end. In Diggle's case, it was much worse. Diggle would have been killed if Curtis hadn't shoved Felicity out of the way and done what needed to be done. That would have left Lyla without a husband and J.J. without a father. Then there are all of the people who would likely have died had Diaz got his hands on that weapon. Just out of curiosity, exactly how many people is Felicity justified in getting killed in order to get Diaz? 3. Watson promised to go after Diaz. I'm sure she assumed that meant that Diaz would be captured or killed, but that's not something you can actually guarantee. You can guarantee an effort, not a result. As for the effort, we heard that they had shut down the parts of Diaz's organization that they could uncover. While Diaz clearly still has some resources, we know some real work got done. 4. Slap an FBI agent? Yeah, have fun with that. I don't know of too many federal prosecutors that take assaulting a federal agent lightly. You know, I get that you're a fan of the Felicity character. I really do. What I don't understand is how someone could become so caught up in a character that they'd be willing to go through this kind of mental and moral gymnastics to justify all of their actions. It's ok to both like a character and admit that they stepped over the line. No one is right all the time. Not all actions are justified, even if they're done by someone for whom you are rooting.
Can we get some mystery green arrow please & less Felicity? How anyone can stand her is beyond me & needs to be taking down a peg or 2. First episode she screwed up the getting the files & then could of ended the world by not detaching the train. Now she's got an FBI agent fired pretty much & gave Diaz what he wanted easier, it's at the point were I want her to die cause she's getting close to the annoyance so was a couple of seasons ago & she's putting herself in harms way, it'll also opening up for The green arrow's actual love interest in comics BLACK CANARY instead of writing crap for Felicity to hack. I'm loving the prison stuff & would honestly prefer we just focus a full season on Oliver in prison. Don't understand the hate Diaz gets, I think he was great & was always gonna be hard to beat Prometheus from the previous season. He's not like a super villain like Deathstroke, Al Ghul, Malcolm or Prometheus (they League trained fighters) Diaz is a decent fighter but he's more of a kingpin. With the injection I'm gonna say since the Bat family are now here it could be early Venom (Bane's serum) or blockbuster, could be Slade's stuff but I'd rather it be something else. As for the longbow hunters I think they are being held back for now & will get more threatening later. I mean these no need for then to go all out versus one who isn't Arrow caliber

First, felicity didn’t get Agent Watson fired. Watson wasn’t even demoted, she just got reassigned. All felicity did was demand that Watson fulfill HER part of the bargain that was made with Oliver. It’s been 5 months and the SCPD, Argus & the FBI have all failed to capture Diaz. They couldn’t even find him. Second, she didn’t help Diaz get what he wanted easier. He had a plan to break into the CDC. She didn’t unlock the doors for him, she tried to stop him. If she hadn’t brought the information she put together to Watson no one would have been there because the FBI’s research team didn’t even know that Diaz and the long bow hunters were in town. Third, it was Rene who told Agent Watson and Dinah not to bring backup. Lastly, Felicity didn’t put herself or anyone else in danger. Her plan was to monitor Diaz while he broke in and then lock him in the room so there would be NO physical altercation. Even when Agent Watson said she was going in after Diaz, felicity told her not to do it because Watson couldn’t take on all of them. Since Oliver’s arrest the crime rate has increased, his wife/son have been attacked and Quentin’s murderer is still roaming free to break into government facilities and steal drugs and weapons yet Ppl have a problem with Felicity being ruthless in her need to stop him? The entire city is at risk with him on the loose yet both the FBI and Argus have said that his capture isn’t a priority.

I wasn’t too big of a fan of the Lyla-Diggle stuff , it felt abrupt and out of character for John to suddenly lose faith in his wife , I felt he would have understood that Lyla would have her reasons after all this time though I wonder if this “something bigger” Lyla is trying to find out is related to Diaz or maybe something we will deal with later on in the season .
The Star City stuff I enjoyed . I continuously like the lack of a better word ,gimmick of muting the fights with Silencer ,it’s cool so far. I’m also liking determined Felicity and I understand why she is doing what she is doing even though she may be going too far . I was confused initially why she lied to Watson and Dinah but it all leads back to the discussion she had with Watson , she is doing things out of the system because she trusted for it to catch Diaz and it hasn’t and now she’s going back to the vigilante way of doing things as opposed to Watson who believes in the system anyway , the compound that Diaz got made a serum that gave him Superstrength , I wonder if it’s some version of Mirakuru?.
The prison stuff was my favorite part of the episode ..Oliver’s stuff was nicely paralleled with Felicity and showed how far he is willing to go for his family .. it was nice to see Oliver have that ruthless edge to him again and looking forward to Level Two and meeting “The Demon

Why do all these villains have such a hard on abt getting Oliver to cross the line, be a murderar, telling him he's not a hero??? Oliver has crossed the line many times over the years, he has murdered people before so what are they out to prove??? Diaz dosen't even have any motives to why he want's to hurt Oliver and his family, they just come off as just being crazy to me.
I think Felicity is just going to get darker, she might even end up killing, if she does I hope it's Diaz, but I have this awful feeling that Diaz is going to do something to her to really push her over the the edge into the darkness , maybe he really hurts her or goes after her mom and dad or smth.
Diggle questioning J.J was so funny, he wasen't the least bit scared but he was of Layla.
I really love the prison scenes I think Oliver's fighting scenes are incredible, SA was def the right choice for this role.

I noticed that I only was interested in the new Arrow, this episode didnt have him, or anything Arrow related so I was kinda meh about this episode. But I guess this story needed to be told so we can focus on the better stuff, Oliver doing parkour was pretty boss tho.

I gotta say that I'm not really feeling any of the villains. I don't want Diaz as a villain again and the "Longbow Hunters" (in name only) are pretty lame. Also are there still bows in the show called Arrow? I know we have mystery Green Arrow but for the last couple seasons I feel like the show forgets that Oliver is an archer.

This was a weak episode in my opinion aside from Oliver and Diaz at the end. Otherwise the B plot with the dumbass brigade was the same story twice.

Ok, so are the writers trying to make Felicity somewhat villainous? This is two episodes in a row now where she's used and betrayed someone who was trying to help her out. One thing that does make sense is that it's Rene that's working with her, as he's been a straight up vigilante since the moment we met him. Thing is, that being the case, Felicity's actions seem all the more questionable when even he's questioning whether or not they're taking things a bit too far. I mean, torture has to be the next step, right? Silencer isn't going to just tell them what they want to know. There's going to have to be torture involved, and you'd think it'd have to be a bit extreme to get the job done with someone like that. For all of the times that Felicity has mentioned justice, nothing she's doing indicates that she gives a damn about seeking justice. She's on a straight up revenge trip. The one thing that keeps Felicity from being a complete villain is that taking Diaz out would help protect her family. Then again, now that the world knows that Oliver is the Green Arrow, you'd figure his family would have a target on them anyway.
So, Oliver is right to do whatever it takes to have his family safe, but Felicity can't do that because ?

But, if you want to talk about what is different about what Oliver and Felicity are doing, then how about this? Oliver is actively seeking to minimize collateral damage. Yes, Oliver framed a guard to have him removed from the prison, but Brink and company would have straight up killed the guard if Oliver hadn't. In contrast, Felicity teams up with people actively trying to help her, only to stab them in the back.

1. I never said I felt sorry for Watson. I don't. Not because of what she said to Felicity, but for the whole sitting back and letting Diaz run roughshod over the people of Star City until Oliver gave her what she wanted thing. The only reason I brought up Felicity betraying her was because it shows how Felicity is acting.
2. Watson is hardly the only person Felicity has betrayed. She betrayed Diggle in the same manner. She agreed to work with them as a part of their team, only to betray them in the end. In Diggle's case, it was much worse. Diggle would have been killed if Curtis hadn't shoved Felicity out of the way and done what needed to be done. That would have left Lyla without a husband and J.J. without a father. Then there are all of the people who would likely have died had Diaz got his hands on that weapon. Just out of curiosity, exactly how many people is Felicity justified in getting killed in order to get Diaz?
3. Watson promised to go after Diaz. I'm sure she assumed that meant that Diaz would be captured or killed, but that's not something you can actually guarantee. You can guarantee an effort, not a result. As for the effort, we heard that they had shut down the parts of Diaz's organization that they could uncover. While Diaz clearly still has some resources, we know some real work got done.
4. Slap an FBI agent? Yeah, have fun with that. I don't know of too many federal prosecutors that take assaulting a federal agent lightly.
You know, I get that you're a fan of the Felicity character. I really do. What I don't understand is how someone could become so caught up in a character that they'd be willing to go through this kind of mental and moral gymnastics to justify all of their actions. It's ok to both like a character and admit that they stepped over the line. No one is right all the time. Not all actions are justified, even if they're done by someone for whom you are rooting.
Can we get some mystery green arrow please & less Felicity? How anyone can stand her is beyond me & needs to be taking down a peg or 2. First episode she screwed up the getting the files & then could of ended the world by not detaching the train. Now she's got an FBI agent fired pretty much & gave Diaz what he wanted easier, it's at the point were I want her to die cause she's getting close to the annoyance so was a couple of seasons ago & she's putting herself in harms way, it'll also opening up for The green arrow's actual love interest in comics BLACK CANARY instead of writing crap for Felicity to hack.
I'm loving the prison stuff & would honestly prefer we just focus a full season on Oliver in prison. Don't understand the hate Diaz gets, I think he was great & was always gonna be hard to beat Prometheus from the previous season. He's not like a super villain like Deathstroke, Al Ghul, Malcolm or Prometheus (they League trained fighters) Diaz is a decent fighter but he's more of a kingpin. With the injection I'm gonna say since the Bat family are now here it could be early Venom (Bane's serum) or blockbuster, could be Slade's stuff but I'd rather it be something else.
As for the longbow hunters I think they are being held back for now & will get more threatening later. I mean these no need for then to go all out versus one who isn't Arrow caliber

Felicity is obsessed & has shown that she'd let people die to get Diaz like Diggle would of been if Curtis didn't step in. If it was Oliver doing this she would be criticising him for, all she does is sit & hack if hacking wasn't so op then she would be useless. Diaz got what he wanted easier too by convincing Watson to get less security on the building. My point also is Felicity has been more involved then any other character & it annoying cause all she does is sit at a computer & complain that no one is doing what she wants.

First, felicity didn’t get Agent Watson fired. Watson wasn’t even demoted, she just got reassigned. All felicity did was demand that Watson fulfill HER part of the bargain that was made with Oliver. It’s been 5 months and the SCPD, Argus & the FBI have all failed to capture Diaz. They couldn’t even find him.
Second, she didn’t help Diaz get what he wanted easier. He had a plan to break into the CDC. She didn’t unlock the doors for him, she tried to stop him. If she hadn’t brought the information she put together to Watson no one would have been there because the FBI’s research team didn’t even know that Diaz and the long bow hunters were in town.
Third, it was Rene who told Agent Watson and Dinah not to bring backup.
Lastly, Felicity didn’t put herself or anyone else in danger. Her plan was to monitor Diaz while he broke in and then lock him in the room so there would be NO physical altercation. Even when Agent Watson said she was going in after Diaz, felicity told her not to do it because Watson couldn’t take on all of them.
Since Oliver’s arrest the crime rate has increased, his wife/son have been attacked and Quentin’s murderer is still roaming free to break into government facilities and steal drugs and weapons yet Ppl have a problem with Felicity being ruthless in her need to stop him? The entire city is at risk with him on the loose yet both the FBI and Argus have said that his capture isn’t a priority.
