Thanks. I just took a week long trip and upon my return I can report a 1.1% drain per day. Significantly better than before when I was experiencing ~3% drain/day.
I thinking about getting an Ocean with the lower pricing do you think it’s a good buy or not. I commute about 80 miles each way for Monday through Friday. Do you think it’s reliable?
I believe that for any comparison of vampire drain, it is important to report the energy settings in the menu. I have the standby time set to 10 minutes and turned off both the AC outlets (trunk and charge port). The reason is that the inverters need to be powered for the AC outlets to function at all. With those settings I have very little vampire drain. Of course you need to have the update 2.0 for that to work!
Good point, I have the energy settings set to 30 seconds. But honestly have not seen any difference between 30 seconds and 10 minutes. How do you turn off the outlets? They will normally be shut off when the car sleeps.
QUESTION: Have you found an inside Fisker Ocean roof cover that is easy to install and take down that will block out the Sun. I have seen some for Tesla
Thanks! This video is great. Now that my wife and I have had our Oceans for over a month, all this makes more sense. Aside from going from Point A to Popint B, I find the EV lifestyle totally different, but much improved over ICE for us. Question: the rear passenger map light comes on randomly at night. Is that a part of the 12V check, or is it just the map light coming on? Everything is off when I go into the house and then, aropund 9PM, I go out with the dogs one more time and find the map light on.
Thank you! I have over a hundred videos on the Ocean, so please subscribe. The map light comes in randomly due to a sensitive switch. Notice you can turn it on or off about an inch away. It’s been going on since I’ve had the car. Some say it’s hardware and some say software. 2.1 does not fix it.
hi there....thanx a lot...very interresting.now i got more of an idea what my ocean is doing when something light up at the dash.have you experienced also the dong.dong, dong before the wakeup?greets from austria.....
Nice video. Does the display have a digital readout of the 12v batteries current charge? That would be useful to see how much charge is on the 12v between daily drives. Then we could do a graph of a one month window to see how well the battery maintains consistency.
@@MTNRanger That's a bummer as even my 1992 Jeep Wrangler has an analog gauge that shows the battery current voltage and the charging. That's a bit scary to not have that readout.
@@DaveDarin I don’t know of any EV that lists the 12 V battery voltage as a specific number. I know my Tesla doesn’t. The Ocean does give a warning when it considers the 12 V too low.
@@MTNRanger You are right, now that I think about it. I also drive a BMW i3s REX and my 12v was acting up with a variety of messages. I changed the 12v and all was right again. And I do not see any place to view the 12v status. Good to know that the Ocean will provide a warning. The BMWs warning was pretty vague.
After 2.0 update, I haven’t experienced any vampire drain. Not even 1% overnight. I normally charge the car up to 90% if it runs below 50%. I use 30 seconds standby as you. Haven’t seen any illuminating of the center touch screen after I locked the car. Is that because my 12V can retain the power batter?
Thanks - allow one question please: There is a new section with 2.0 in the settings, called `energie`. What was your setting there during the test ? 24 hours or 10 minutes or 30 seconds until the vehicle standby is switched off ? Would be interesting to see how big the differences are. Greets from Germany
Yes, I should have mentioned that in the video. For the first two weeks of update 2.0 I had the setting on 10 minutes. For the last two weeks (and this test) I have had it on 30 seconds. I have not noticed any difference in overnight losses between the two settings.
@@MTNRanger Thanks, you are well informed and always deep diving in all this things. I thought something like this. The Difference may be with the 24 hour setting
I drive a BMW i3s REX and, from what I understand, the 12v is constantly at a trickle charge. I see 0 high voltage battery drain. And here is a question or comment. If you charge the Fisker every night, as I do with the i3s, would that not ever be an issue? If you are seeing 30 minute cycles to charge the 12v and it is taking charge from the high volage battery to do so, would keeping the Ocean plugged in to the home charging maintain the 100% charge of the high voltage?
The HV battery charges the 12V whether it is plugged in, driving or parked. It checks every so often and charges when necessary. I use the same monitor on my Tesla Model 3 and it works the same way as the Ocean. Each manufacturer may use different methods on the 12 V battery.
Good info. Can you do a similar test without going into deep sleep and see if/how that's different? Would love to see that. Also, I tried to make it into the Android Automotive secrete menu, but wasn't able to do so on 2.0. Can you test and see if you can still make it into that menu? Also, FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have done this a few times and leaving the charge port open or closed, the car will still go into deep sleep overnight. The Android menu access has been removed with update 2.0.
The issue I have heard is that no more key fobs are being made. Even if they were, I have heard the car only supports on key fob with the current software. I'm hoping NFC card access and phone-as-a-key using the app will be coming soon.
Love the video brother. Thank you for taking the time to record the loss!
Thanks for this and all of your Ocean videos and useful information! Much appreciated….
Very good and informative! Thank you

The car has been reliable to me. The biggest concern is the service and software updates going forward.
Thanks!
I appreciate that!

@@MTNRanger On the same screen for the standby energy setting, below that, I find the settings for the power outlets.
Good stuff

I have only seen windshield window sun shades. None for the roof yet.

Great video, Matt. Thanks for the details. Did you leave the battery tender leads installed in addition to the BT 12v battery monitor?
Yes they are still there along with the monitor. Can’t hurt to have it just in case.

With the 2.0 update it has been quiet during the startup (unless I don't have my sealtbelt on).

The car has no info on the 12 V battery. The app I use in the video has 1 day, 7 day, and 15 day charts of voltage.

My Tesla also losses HV battery over night 1 to 6%. That is why I believe in ABC.

It works 100% percent, sometimes I have to press to wake it up.
