People who call anything a trash fish is bc they’re expecting it to taste like one of three fish they buy at the supermarket. Mackerel doesn’t taste like tilapia, but it’s better than tilapia in certain ways of cooking. That’s like having a bison burger and calling it trash because it doesn’t taste like chicken tenders

I saw how long this video was so I watched it on the couch. Went out on the kayak for the up swing today at mission bay. Solid hook ups on the drop shot with a 2” easy shiner. Lots of halibut biting. Fun day. -toilet gang

Nice work on the intro the "b" roll footage. I wish I knew about your channel I would have hit the strand side and Around IB for surf perch and halibut for sure man. Your spots on that side are sick. The episode you had waders on was my fav! I drove that home from a bar near Coronado for work, would have been great fishing, even back bay bones area I would try. So much good fishing in Sd
The fishery in San Diego is amazing and we all should never take it for granted. We are lucky to have so much water to cover along with a beautiful view at every single location. Get out there and get bit!

Hey don't feel bad about the gas prices, not too long ago here in BFE NorCal 9 miles from Beale AFB and 25 from anywhere else it was $6.95/gal for regular.. needless to say I haven't been going anywhere lately when the only vehicle I have access to gets 11mpg. (yeah I don't own my own car.. I'm autistic and physically disabled and have IBS, I don't have a job.. and the state hasn't labelled me disabled so I don't get money either. Yeah.. life sucks when you are stuck just existing.) UH.... you might want to read the PDF for sport fishing regs.. It suggest women 18-49 DO NOT EAT for Mackerel out of San Diego Bay.. I can't believe all the ocean species that have no size limit. Try putting a quarter oz egg weight before an 8 inch leader when you want to use smaller lures.
Hello, cool channel! Are these mackerels and bonito in all year round or only during a specific time?
Mackerel usually comes around late Winter into Spring & they usually stick around until the cold weather comes in. As for Bonito, they can either come in during the Winter or full blown during the Spring into late Fall, it really depends on the water temp and the so-called El Nino.

That's very unfortunate. Every state in the US is different. Different wages determine prices of goods etc.
You are so stoked its only 9gallons to fill up … over here costing me 120$ to fill up 😭. Gonna invest in a moped and tow a kayak with a sail for bluefin this year haha
Also bring some ice, scoop some salt water into your cooler and make yourself a mini RSW for the macs and they will be even more fire!
@@BryanTimm I mean, it costs my daily driver $100 - $120 to fill up from empty depending where I go. My work truck takes $115 - $135 every week also so yeah, if you're trying to compare haha. Yes, a moped would be best but it's not a family vehicle lol.

TBH, I do not know, they come randomly throughout the year and they never stay in one spot.
