    I use this knot on my glide baits, never lost one yet on the knot. I trust it and it's easy to do.

    I have used this knot for the last 5 years on a #8 bait hook and all terminal tackle with 6lbs line for trout , Steelhead and salmon and is strong as hell . never has it ever failed me ever!

    I use it everything down to 2lb test. Just use more wraps the thinner you go. I do 11 wraps with my 2lb

    I saw another video, where the guy put the line through the top loop gap, then the Bottom one, WHICH IS THE WRONG WAY!!!!, You did it the CORRECT WAY. Ilove this knot, use it most of the time.

    Why not the double san diego?

      I USE THE DOUBLE ON THE PV GEAR BUT HAVE NOT HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE SINGLE AND IT IS EASIER TO TIE. HOPE THAT HELPS. I GUESS IT PERSONAL PREFERENCE. THANKS.

      @@AccurateFishingReels I use the single too. Still a reliable knot.

      It goo for 30lb and up probably. It is used mostly for 80lb and up on the long range boats.

    I prefer the San Angelo double Lyndy cross hatch east of the brazos knot myself 😅 JK great video !

    The only knot I tie period. And when in doubt just double that line up for a double san diego jam knot, the line will always break before the knot promise

      We have used the double in PV for years with good results.

    CORRECTION.... He put it through the BOTTOM One first, then the top one.

      YEP ITS A DOUBLE AND I HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE INITIAL KNOT. THANKS.

    Thanks for your video. Well explained. I prefer the Palomar because there is doubled line in the eye or ring of the lure, swivel, or hook in case of abrasion.

    • @AccurateFishingReels
      @AccurateFishingReels  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can also double the San Diego jam which we do long range fishing. Little bit more to tie though. Thanks.

      @brianmcarthur7423 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You’d do a Palmar knot with that huge jig that you need to get the loop over?
      I dig the palomar also but sometimes the hook or lure or jog is too big, or too sharp (like treble hooks. )

    So it's basically a reverse fisherman's knot kind of.

    • @AccurateFishingReels
      @AccurateFishingReels  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure of Fishermans knot. So many names so few knots. Thanks.

      @@AccurateFishingReels its more of a combined knot of a clinch and a Pitzen Knot with 2 safeguards from it slipping ever

    • @dallaswood4117
      @dallaswood4117 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s what I thought just looks like a variation on the improved clinch knot or fisherman’s knot as you call it

    Does it matter which way you pass through the last loop?
    Thank you

    • @AccurateFishingReels
      @AccurateFishingReels  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      To some it does but as long as it is cinched, its pretty strong. I have seen it done both ways. Check out the springer knot from John Collins. I use this knot with no problems on big fish.

    Can it be used for fluorocarbon?

    • @AccurateFishingReels
      @AccurateFishingReels  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes sir. Probably most used knot for big game in San Diego with flouro.

    Will this knot work on fly line bait

    • @AccurateFishingReels
      @AccurateFishingReels  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes but it is bulky. We use it when fishing 130 lb for long range yellowfins. Check out the springer knot. You can tie heavy line and I use it all the time with never a failure. Thanks.
