जो गुलज़ार "खुशबू "मध्ये "दो नैनोमें आँसू भरे हैं, निंदिया कैसे समाए " लिहितो, तोच इथे " पानी पानी रे, खारे पानी रे ! नयनोमे भर जा , नींदे खाली कर जा!! " असं विरुद्ध अर्थाचे लिखाणही लीलया करून जातो. त्याची भाषेवरील पकड अचंबित करणारी आहे.

No, in first case he is worried- if tears are there in the eyes, how can sleep be accommodated. No place. In second song, it is other way round- sleep is already there in the eyes. So Gulzar is requesting water to get into

I was lucky enough to witness this performance live. Was looking forward to attending this particular Vasantotsav because of Prithvi Gandharv & Pratibha Singh Baghel. But Vishal ji Bharadwaj absolutely stole the show!!! It came as a surprise to me because I had never seen him perform live before and this particular segment has been etched in my heart forever and I will lifelong cherish this memory! Thanks for sharing the video.

The song Pani Pani Re is so startlingly beautiful. I remember Tabbu's face and tearless eyes which still haunt me.
Lataji's uniqueness was to understand the ethos of such songs and visibly enter the character.
This one, both Vishalji and specifically Rahulji understood Guljarsaab's words and the spaces between them to the hilt, entering the character. I can't say it was soulful, it was the soul itself!
