Hi Great video, I have a 2005 exc 525 which was leaking a little oil from this seal so I replaced it, but it's still leaking even with the new seal. I didn't have any issues swapping it out, the new one seemed to install just fine so not sure why it's still leaking. Anything that you can think of that I should try differently if I go ahead and buy another new one? some sort of extra sealant perhaps? thanks in advance!
*Alex Foster* - No you do not need to split the crankcases. You will just need to remove the Right crankcase cover to access the kickstarter mechanism. Thanks
I have a 98 rm250 and it’s hard to start without standing on a stand or something carb is fine has good compression the kick start bolt is broken can be removed still starts with it in but how can I make it easy to start sitting on
You will need to locate it in the OEM parts finder. Just follow the link below and enter your bike year and model, then click on the kickstarter schematic to locate the seal. www.rockymountainatvmc.com/oem-parts/KTM
I am trying to replace my kick starter seal on my 2008 ktm xcr-w 450 but I can’t find a part number anywhere. Even the parts diagram for the Kickstarter excludes this seal. Is it the same part number as the countershaft seal?
It's probably the pivot spring. I'll link you to our kickstart maintenance video that you can check out and that should help. th-cam.com/video/8YwON21-pTg/w-d-xo.html

Anyone know what size the kickstarter pivot / retention bolt is? Looking everywhere for a replacement for a RHK kickstarter.
Is this the same for a yz 250
So what happens if this method didn’t work out for somebody? Is there a alternative way? Asking for a friend.........🙄
Hi Rocky Mountain ATV, Do i have to drank the gear oil/engine oil before i proceed with this?
*Shi-Ping Lim* No, you do not need to drain the oil to replace the kickstarter seal.
