Great videos, you have given me some awesome ideas. I have a 2002 Z06 with BC coilovers and upper and lower control arms poly bushing, front and rear. Very happy with the suspension performance and control of the car, handles like a gocart.
Very nice for what you describe as a value-based set of eq. Liked how how you set the rears diff than the front for a specific street ride. Thanks for your time in making these videos...they mean a lot to me!
Thanks for the super quick reply. I have wanted to buy a set for my Z and have asked around but no one could answer my question. I need stock height as I live 15 miles out of the city . This out in the sticks and roads have bomb craters in them here in south Texas. Lol
I’ve had my BC coilovers in for about a couple years also and holy crap. That. Car doesn’t get unsettled in turns anymore like it did with the leaf spring. Totally love it and highly recommend. I’ve had it on the track too. Had to soften the front and stiffen the back quite a bit (from center of adjustments) because the car didn’t want to rotate at all. Was under steering pretty bad. More than what it should be probably. I couldn’t get it to rotate, short of being a fool with it. But I mean 3/4 throttle holding in a turn and it wasn’t breaking loose (cam and 315 Falken 615k in the back on F14s).
Thanks for the update. I was wondering about these. I plan to get coilovers and these are on my list of great ones available. The polyurethane bushings you mentioned for the front, are they available when you place your order or did you get them separately from another company?
I sourced the bushing separate from the coil overs. The BC coils I got in Amazon & the bushings are from Summit I believe.. I could be mistaken on that
I'm about to do the same coilovers and poly bushings can't wait to feel the difference. I have a 97 that someone put a 02 z06 under with a 7.0 427. Oh yeah
Great video. Did you find the front spring hard to remove ? How far down on the stock bolts are you? That is my main concern. PS - the car is looking awesome.
I was shocked how easily the old setup came out honestly. On my old stock bolts I was pretty much maxed out. On the coils I could easily go another inch.
Specifically, which BC product did you install? I've got a '99 M6 coupe. I've mostly been focused on power (heads/cam/blower LS3 swap) and it's time to upgrade the suspension.
Hello iam from the netherlands and love your nice good videos......i have todqy my new Bc racing BR series...QUESTION IS IT POSSIBLE...to share how many clicks you have now front and back ..thnks keep going😂
Do you have a list of all the mods on your car? Also, im looking at C5Z's, how much is too much to pay? I just don't want to overpay too badly. An 04 C5Z with low miles people are asking $30k nowadays...
The last 2 years the c5Z has skyrocketed in value. It is worth it though (great light weight platform) with tons of power. I will definitely compile a complete build/ price list video soon. I still think you can get a low'ish Mile c5Z in the mid 20's though.
@@VetOnVettes Thanks! I think that would be a good video. I found a stock (mostly) 04 with a spare set of wheels with 21k miles asking $30k. An 02 with 50k miles and cam/I/E/Heads and other things for $27k asking. It just seems crazy to pay $27-28k even with only 21k miles because it will probably need a few things. Anyway, im trying to wait a bit and see if prices come down in fall/winter.
@@VetOnVettes My biggest concern other than overpaying is that its a 20 year old car so some things are going to need to be replaced. I can do a lot of my own work, but a clutch im not sure, and thats a $3k job almost if you go to a shop...But you could easily drop $1-2k on bushings, and parts worn after 20 years. Maybe if it sat in a garage (like most have) those parts are ok...
If they're _only_ asking $30k that's a good deal today. And I don't see prices moving much over the next 24 months. They started to come down some several months ago but it was just a tiny dip. I'm currently looking at a C5Z and a C6Z and prices are just what they are. I don't like it, but I'm now at an age that waiting will reduce my ability to enjoy the car. This realization is clashing heavily with my natural conservatism!
Not harsh at all. Just different. Car feels more composed and proper. If that makes sense. Now on the very firm setting it's definitely stiff. But on the very soft setting it can be too floaty at highway speeds
I saw this video by another C5 owner about the long term viability by using coil overs in a C5 vette with its current mount point. (th-cam.com/video/pztbC_DIMu4/w-d-xo.html). Any thoughts on this?
I need to give it a watch. Ironically I'm filming a complete suspension upgrade completion video on my C5Z today. It's been about 2 years since I've done my coils. One of the best upgrades I've done.
If you find value in my videos and want to support a small channel feel free to buy me a coffee! (or not..) www.buymeacoffee.com/markalafrer

Outstanding. Poly upper and lower control bushings are definitely on the docket!
I got rid of the nose badge… best update I did… no more wax buildup on the nose…EXCELLENT content !
Thanks man 👍🤙 appreciate you tuning in.
What about the locating holes?

You bet. You might not be able to get exactly stick height, but pretty dang close.
Good to hear you’re enjoying the coil overs. Hope they last as long as you keep the Vette. (:

Coilovers are a game changer, When that leaf spring comes off it releases a whole different monster of a car
Do you have a part number for the poly urethane bushings for the front coil overs? I cant seem to find the online.

Looking to get bc where do I get Polly bushings?
I'm about to do the same coilovers and poly bushings can't wait to feel the difference. I have a 97 that someone put a 02 z06 under with a 7.0 427. Oh yeah
Thanks for the info, trying to decide on the BCs, where did you get the poly bushings?

Did these work for you at the track? I heard of horror stories of BC racing breaking.

It's a bad time to buy a vetted. I bought my Z06 4 years ago, with 34000 miles on it for $18000. Keep looking

Also are these the BR series or ER series?
Quick question,c5 or c6 for comfort ,not going to race c5 z or C6 base
I have a 2001 z06. With the BC coilovers installed will it lower the stock ride height, or can you set to stock ride height?
Correct. You can set it to stock height or lower it roughly 2"
Is there a significant weight difference between the coil overs and the leafs?
I forget the exact figure, but you save roughly 20lbs total between the leafs & old shocks.
What spring rate did you go with?
“Hope you can hear that.”
Brother I had to turn the volume up just to hear you😭
5:29 *turned it down💀*
Hey I'm in Newport news 01 yellow coupe will c5 zo6 fit my coupe
