Comiso to Lamezia Terme, Italy | LICB to LICA | DA-42 Twinstar | Pilot2ATC | MSFS | VR

My 2nd to last trip for some time was a gorgeous flight at dawn from Comiso, Sicily, out over Catania and up the toe of the boot, landing at Lamezia Terme, Italy. I started setting up at 6:50AM and the sun was just peaking as I left Comiso. It was a gorgeous flight and a much more solid departure than my last flight. There was a bit of drama when part of my flight plan disappeared on approach, conveniently just as I entered some rain clouds, but I recovered nicely and brought the DA-42 in for a nice landing. Tomorrow I’m posting the follow-up where I returned 2 hours later to find all of Lamezia Terme in a downpour which made for a VERY dramatic departure, but went up the coast, took in my first thundershowers in the sim, past Mount Vesuvius, and into the beautiful city of Naples.

It looks like my opening the GTN750 at 1:12:00 wiped my flight plan. Glad it wasn’t user error, though perhaps technically it could be considered as such given that I should just be using the Garmin 1000 to program it. Sigh.
