- One of the greatest dangers we face each day as believers is slowly allowing God’s influence over our lives to wane. This condition makes God weightless in our lives. He no longer weighs upon every thought, every choice, and every action of our day.
I wonder how many of us this morning really think that this message is for us. Before we dive in, perhaps we should do a little test for what may be called:
THE GREAT DISCONNECT
First, we think, what is the title of today’s message? The Discipline of Time: “Rejecting Profane & Empty Living” (1 Timothy 4:7a)
“Hmmm”, we think, “not sure that I am involved in anything profane (whatever that is), or that I am living in any way that is empty”.
So, that means I don’t have to really think much about the next 45 minutes. Right?
That is the exercise that takes place, almost unconsciously across America in Bible-teaching churches each week. People sit there, notice the topic, do a quick assessment, and tune in to other thoughts while they sit through the message.
But now, we need to go on and do the test to determine whether God has become “weightless” in our lives. This test is simple:
How much do God and His Word, directly challenge me,
into changing the way I think and act on a daily basis?
IS GOD WEIGHTLESS IN YOUR LIFE?

Your exactly right. Spiritual fight. Spot on. It all takes time. Patience is key. Don't give up. Look around you. See what's happening in this 8 billion people world.. The lord is near. So is his sword. Repent your sins. By the way you can take something with you when you die.... People.

Just what I’m battle right now, anger and depression and allowing negative thoughts and emotions to just drain me…I need to listen to this tonight
I am going through the same feelings.
I think this is a battle most of us are having. I too battle those feelings!
Focusing on Jesus and His Word and not on man an circumstances is the best remedy!
I think always of the vers:
"Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all the rest will be added to you"
All means All including the peace that surpasses all understanding,....
Look to Jesus! Not the entertainment of the world. 🙏♥️

I thought that I was boring and jaded for not being a fan of comic book movies, anime, whatever is trending on Reddit, social media and whatever is on Netflix. I felt like it was all pointless, not necessary, a waste of time and emotional attention. I thought, well what ARE my interests? I see by this lesson that I should fill the void with God.
Me too, we just have been protected! Only what goes to heaven has real value!

How is that an unemployed individual like myself can spend at least sixteen waking hours doing anything BUT reading/studying the Scriptures? Time to put away the distractions. Thanks for the wake-up call. God bless!

@@_ben_miller You did not answer the question. Just stated what I already know. I was eluding to the rapture or the Millennium reign of Christ. These will be the times when suffering become no more to those who are in Christ.

I’m being convicted. Thank you lord.
I know I have an empty life . I know that my relationship with God has seriously been depleting this last 6 months . I'm living with my daughter and her young family and her husband who doesn't believe in God and if I dare say anything about God , he mocks me or makes rude comments about God . This makes me very uncomfortable and I have argued with him about it in the past . I don't have much choice on where I live right now and I'm falling into depression over this . I've only been saved 3 yrs and don't know the Bible as much as I want to . Having quiet time or time alone is very hard . I need God and I want the Lord in my life so abundantly and like it was in the beginning. Full of joy and spirit filled . I need prayer . I need Jesus . I need prayer.

Praying that God and His Word become more precious to you than anything else, in Jesus' name. There's a song with the sentiment, keep your eyes upon Jesus, and the things of this world grow strangely dim. Jesus chose to die rather than live without us!!! He wants a loving personal relationship with us that I believe no human can provide us with. I'm praying we all are drawn to seek more time to be with our True Love; the lover of our souls, that we may know Him and follow Him more closely moment by moment.

I agree. Many great Christian channels are non monetized. I really like the teachings but the ads are super annoying.

I remember around 15 yrs ago watching a couple of teenage girls who looked like they were w/their g'parents. The entire time, these girls played on their tablets. Totally ignoring these g'parents, who didn't have any tech gadget. I told my wife, my gosh this is what we've become now w/techn. No interaction w/the older generation, bc they're more fascinated w/the new shiny object. We make our girls always put their gadgets, phones, etc. down at b'fast or dinner, so we can connect as a family about each others day.

The greatest gift from God, reinforced by Jesus, is our good health. This is what went wrong for Adam and Eve. They were born in perfect health but their lie began a genetic decline which we all participate in until its many faulty pathways become so confusing that there is no way back...except Jesus Christ's. We don't even know yet that it is our electromagnetic health that twists and buckles our genetics...or that Jesus will hold our many sins in abeyance whilst we repair...his way...righteously...and in time for Wormwood.
I thought how do I think on things above and I thought I saw just a flash of Jesus face mangled and dark he looked at me with one eye. He looked like He was on the cross. I hope Jesus will let me know how to keep my mind on things above especially Him. Amen

He is trying to point out that Compared to our relationship with God, EVERYTHING else is mundane. For example,
if your house was on fire, watching your absolute Favorite movie would all of a sudden not be very important at all.
I hope that helps give some perspective as to what he's getting at.
I’ve been under attack for years please help me
I am guilty of not thinking of God all day, but I don't know how. I try to read the bible, I fall asleep. I try to watch a sermon like yours, I fall asleep. I tell demons and spirits to get out of my head, out of my mind, out of my body and my home, but still I fall asleep. Even yawning watching this sermon which I'm finding interesting, but don't know how to put it into practice. I have a farm game I play on my tablet, and have been quite consumed with it but have now cut it down to twice a day no more than 15 minutes and it's hard but am trying to cut down as I don't think Half an hour a day is too much or too bad or too consuming, but what can I replace it with if I fall asleep with everything g else?
Drive,walk, ride and listen. I love driving for hour because my mind needs to be alert so i can listen to scripture for hours.🙏✝️
Talk about distractions from the Word … for some reason this pastor’s videos has more commercials than anything I watch. That just shows us how true this man’s preaching is.

What I can't grasp is no matter how much I pray and read..... It does not stop intrusive thoughts. Are any of these preachers really honest about..... And part of this title Are u letting God help you.....? They make u feel worse listening to them
