Up until 20 or 25. Years ago you couldn't have walked those streets without getting jumped or at least robbed, now they even look like pleasent places and no gang members around pretty much at all. Times have changed a lot.

MrCowboys2288 same shit is happening in San Diego. All the gang members or retired ones are moving to Tijuana becuase rent is much cheaper which in retrospect leaves the turf inactive or the varrio "dead". You also have to consider that alot of Gs are moving to cheaper locations and those cheaper locations happen to be in enemy territory so they automatically have to stop banging or keep a low profile especially if you have no car. Higher rent prices are making all thr real ones move out the hood and just visit the hood every now and then until that every now and then turns into a couple times a year. Thats how varrios end up dead with nobody to put on the pewees anymore.

thats good. gangs are stupid anyways. nothing good came from gangs. you either die young and never do anything with your life, or you live a longer life, as a bum asking for change and trying to tell stories about how they refused to change for a street that will never be theirs. true story.

Before Clanton was 14th St gang which ran from Clanton to Mateo's neighborhood and the Neighborhood Settlement's neighborhood aswell. The Chief of Police in the 1940's stated he was from a gang in Boyle Heights and fought against the 14th Street gang and Dogtown gang amongst others in 1910. Clanton put under their wing many groups /gangs in Lafayette Jr. High(used to be 14th St Elementary ) in the 1930's . As that vato was standing in the original barrio he pointed to a placaso from pre '45 with the name Ralph ~C~ (the C had the pachuco cross) but if you notice there was no 14th St next to it right? That's because it was implemented after the City changed it (Clanton Street )14th Place . After 1945 you start seeing C14. We've traced Clanton back to 1922 can't find no one older than 88 years old many have passed away. The Original Gang were we get our name from goes back to the 1880's to Tombstone Arizona their family bought land were Clanton Street was and was named after them.
Dogtown name was giving to that area back in the 1890's by the people working the railway and it was noted that a gang from Dogtown raided Schuetzen Park were Hebrews (Jewish people) were attending in 1904.
White Fence started as they claim 1939 ,in the 1920's Mexicans worked there it wasn't until the late 1920's until Raza moved in the area. Hoyo Mara wasn't the Oldest from the Maravilla's.
These are my oldest list :
    Sonora town
    Alpine St.
    La Macy St.
    Dogtown
    Chavez Ravine (3 barrios )
    Clanton
    Temple
    Belvedere
All 6 Camps Hayes ,Hicks ,Flores ,Wiggins, etc.
    La Mission
There are several defunct barrios I'm not going to mention cause it'll be here forever lol but look at it like this many of the oldest barrios surrounded the Plazita a core center for Raza.

    • @AlexAlonso101
      @AlexAlonso101 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

jose h Wasn't dealing with defunct neighborhoods like Macy & Alpine. If HMV is not oldest in East LA / Maravillas, which neighborhood is? What's you oldest list for active current street gangs in LA? Alpine, Macy, Belvedere (?), Sonora been gone.

I see reckless comments on here about the History of Hispanic Gangs. ..but who you running to when it comes to purchasing a brick? Or who you fear the most when you behind enemy lines? When it comes to this Gang Culture, every Color plays a huge part. Don't every forget that. That's the problem nowadays, cats wanna run around calming sets or repping a Flag but clueless to its origins. Pay Homage if you REALLY about that life.
    Peace Infinite

I did some research.Mateo was a thriving Mexican immigrant community that existed in the south east corner of downtown up until 1962-63. Unfortunately, Mateo and it's gang had to make way for the 10 fwy.

thank you for some history of the oldest gangs in los Angeles but you don't have it exactly ..because the first structure and building built in los Angeles is in fact the San Gabriel mission
The heart of the San Gabriel valley also San Gabriel is one of the oldest cities with a gang . the Sangra gang is a well known still active and and has been since my father who is 86 years old says you shouldn't leave out his varrio Sangra The real VSGR I have many of pictures from the 50s. and 60s and70 s of clicks and photos of jackets graffiti from the Sangra clicks of generations the reagents,,the jesters ,,,the nite owls,, the chicos, the cyclones, ,,the wall boy's,, the malitos,, and now it's the sickos.
6 generations of clicks from probably the oldest gang in the SGV and are surenos with shot callers in the sur 13 from San Quinton and pelican bay -from Sangra
    and you left them out
    My question is why

      Sangra and lomas gang
16 year old David alcon aka puppet
killed in drive by shooting by marcilno from lomas gang in 1971 drive by shooting
before it was always rumbles say my father it's documented in books like always running and in news articles
so why are these gang not first on your list my uncle silent from white fence who IS 79 years old asked the same and everyone who is over 75 years old knows of the Sangra gang why don't you ..you're video is great and I thank you for sharing but it needs to be updated or to make another one there's a lot of homies from the SGV who agree

@@jt6761 a real Temple St member named Baby Boy from LA got deported and came back to Manila and set up Temple St click there. So at least that click has a real LA OG. Other LA Temple St members got deported too and set up clicks in other areas. So its about the same as MS13 and 18 st in El Salvador. Theyre still considered Surenos too right?

I thinks so, but not sure, I suggest you to read La Eme about Rene boxer Enriquez a leader of Mexican Mafia some decades ago.
