My Jewish friends do not appreciate my support for Israel. I was a toddler in a civil war and I think the American Jewish community is so far removed from the plight of Israelis that they take an entitled point of view against Israel. My dad has denied his Jewish Identity ✡️ for decades, he wants nothing to do with the religion and nothing to do with Jewish Life;however, when it comes to Israel all of a sudden my dad is a proud Jew ✡️ and visiting Israel 5 times over the course of his life gives him great joy. But there is one thing that made him extremely proud of his Jewish Heritage ✡️ and that was being in Israel during the 6-day War! A Jew ✡️ who denies his roots at any given time become proud when Israel 🇮🇱 showed strength. Even growing up, I too was ashamed of my Jewish Identity because I believed my people to be cowards in the face of the Nazis and the Cossacks. It wasn't until I started learning about Jews fighting against the Romans, the Greeks, and of course the Nazis and Cossacks did I become a proud Jew ✡️ Israel 🇮🇱 always has defened her people and won it is when Israel and the Jewish people are strong do secular jews ✡️ like my father and I become proud of who we are! I criticize all the revered rabbis who pontificate on talmud but ignore teaching survival skills.
