"You also add two cloves of garlic, this is a very French recipe as I said."
This really made me lol. But I love Delia Smith, she is a treasure!
french onion soup is the best!!
me and my friends stopped at a restaurant on the way home from a Gordon Lightfoot concert in Calgary, and I wasnt all that hungry so i just had me some french onion soup. it was excellent. lol my friends kept saying how much it stinks. well they're right, but it's awesome stuff.
And yes, I'm a huge fan of Gordon Lightfoot; and one of my friends was awesome enough to plan a surprise trip for a bunch of us to go see him in concert, in Calgary, 500 Km away.
yummy, french onion soup is sooo goood
I've noticed with Delia, since I've watched a lot of her recipes, her fav things are "special" cheese, wine & garlic !
Wow you deserve your benefits this week. Well done
Scottish Lass I grew up watching and learning from Delia, which probably explains why my favourite things are special cheese , wine and garlic!
Got to love the 17th century.
Two cloves of garlic...whoa! steady!! ;-)
haha yes this cracks me up! also the way she excuses that by saying "this is a very french recipe, as i said"!
@but ton I'm pro-garlic and proud.
😂👍
I just made it with a whole bulb!
@@iraceruk Man/Woman after my own heart.
@@Korea4Me My husband hates garlic! 😂
That literally made me LOL. :)
Lub the accent❤
the worrying thing is, I wouldn't be surprised if you could! Nice band by the way! Have a good one mate
💖💖💖💖
For her first book Delia was quite unable to make some of the recipes it contained, so received assistance from two of Fanny Cradock's former trainees.
wow this shows its age by the fact that she has to describe what a crouton is!
Song ID?
She doesn`t like stock cubes...listen up Marco!
I wasn't really serious about that but i like cheese :p
You can tell this dates back a bit because she has to semi-apologize for two bits of garlic... :)
I agree, We shouldn't have to endure comments like yours.
Oh my GOD you're RIGHT I'm SO IGNORANT of the truth about melted cheese. *eye roll*
I give you permision to use water...
wow
Water?! Well there goes the flavour. Stock cube, msg, vegetable juice - anything but nasty water.
Please don't just use water, that would be horrible. Stock cubes & pastes etc are much better these days. And for God's sake, reduce the wine a bit to mellow out the harsh, fumey taste.
This thing all things devours;
Birds, beasts, trees, flowers;
Gnaws iron, bites steel;
Grinds hard stones to meal;
Slays king, ruins town,
And beats mountain down.
When I saw this video I was reminded of Tolkien's riddle about time from the chapter "riddles in the dark" between Bilbo and Smeagol in The Hobbit. Time destroys, or certainly changes everything. When I was growing up Delia's method was how to cook this meal. Now Alex French Guy Cooking has something more authentic on his youtube channel and the way the world gets recipes and consumes media is very different and than it was when this first aired. I suppose if Bilbo had some French onion soup in his pocket things may have turned out rather differently.
nice dress
It's not french without the cheese :p
What she up to these days then?
anians batter 0:21-0:26 lololololol
dont fuck with delia when it comes with cooking. 5*
um, yea....you're SUPPOSED to melt it....to anyone who knows and loves french onion soup, the MELTED cheese looks far more appealing!
The cheese topping looked so much better without being melted under the grill. Ew.
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm :p
let's NOT be 'aveing ya
Well i must disagree with you here Delia with the sugar not needed.Spoils the flavour i myself agree with TheShadowyPhantom the more cheese the better and don't watch her videos and say she is a bad cook in the first place dont click the video
deliah's too good for stock cubes,yet she supports Norwich city? Sounds like a contradiction to me...
Are/were stock cubes made in Norwich?
lol,how the hell do you know what dead people flesh looks like?
that is one ugly shirt hahahaha but the food is yummy
It's a dress
3:40 looks like dead people flesh in a pot
Somebody call the fashion police! What is she wearing?! 👀Bland looking video, bland looking soup. But never mind it's our Delia.
