I knew there was so much happening in this scene but you take it do a different level. Thank you for your in depth videos and all the work you put into your videos.
This is one of the few shows that you can watch 20 years later and it’s just as good as the time you first watched it! Tried doing that with other shows that you may have liked when you were a kid like Beretta Starsky and hutch or Miami Vice Kojak or the Rockford files None of them compare
I just started a full re-watch of this show with my wife, the last time we watched this was over a decade ago. This go round, I'm kind of shocked (all over again) at just how much sub-text there is to this show. I had remembered and really appreciated the fact that the show purposely doesn't give closure to almost anything that happens to our characters out in their world (well, right up until the last closure these guys ever get) - but the writers', actors' and directors' ability to speak volumes metaphorically, while really saying nothing on the surface, is astounding. It's one thing to state that this world of theirs (LCN) has a whole series of specific, usually unwritten, rules about behavior - and even beliefs. Turning that nebulous reality into a show that is so compelling is just masterful.
This is legitimately one channel that if there is a new video I click!!! Love the content, it makes me appreciate the Sopranos and The Wire even more than I already did.
Outstanding commentary, especially the first 3.20mins and I'm not one for the preambles. CineRanter, you described this little sit down better than Notre Dame predicted.
The scene with Tony and Johnny in the limo would always be my favorite. Great job analyzing this scene. It ranks up there, and it gives you further proof that Tony never had the makings of a varsity athlete.
Obviously that it ended up being Vito was probably the best decision Ralphie made, but it was obvious none of them actually cared about Jackie Jr. they just didn't want their own reputation to be hurt
This is dope. The scene, the analysis, both dope. You can really pick up on Gandolfini's emotes with his eyes and tone of voice. Another scene I'd love to see you break down is T's and Carmella's dinner negotiation on the conditions for marital reconciliation. Gandolfini looks so sad and defeated when he hears that he has to buy back into the marriage with a 600,000 lot (and presumably the capital for building the house). Lots of subtext. In fact, you should've done that video to begin with! Now you can't sleep! J/k do it next, it will be another fukkin money machine.
Two HOF actors in an unforgettable scene! Also, the analyses are always great - the sheer amount of quotes you work into every script are amazing -- bravo!
Both Tony and Ralphie are just as childish and volatile as Jackie Jr. the difference is Tony and Ralph are more intelligent in a cunning and manipulative way.
Extremely funny start, great take on that conversation between Tony and Ralph. I always thought it was strange and I don’t think I’ve ever thought “they were playing tennis trying to lay off the blame on each other”

Great analysis. The to and fro in the scene is absolutely masterful. Gandolfini plays the role perfectly there pressing home the advantage to ensure the job is done.
When I heard you were doing a video on what you considered to be The Sopranos ' greatest scene, I immediately wondered which you would choose. When I saw the thumbnail today, I couldn't argue with you at all. An incredible scene that was instantly memorable when I saw it.
I don't think Tony ever wanted Jackie jr. dead and Ralph knew this. He was desperate to get Tony's ok on whacking Jacke, the "you know who my father was?", Jr., but Tony was all in favor of giving him a pass. Ralph was even going to do it, but then Jackie reached out to Tony for help, not Ralph the step dad. Ralph got upset and decided to whack him.

This is one of the few shows that you can watch 20 years later and it’s just as good as the time you first watched it!
Tried doing that with other shows that you may have liked when you were a kid like Beretta Starsky and hutch or Miami Vice Kojak or the Rockford files
None of them compare
Rockford Files is still great.
Tony wanted him dead, he just wanted to torture Ralph first. That whole conversation was just Tony mind fucking Ralph for his own amusement.
Outstanding commentary, especially the first 3.20mins and I'm not one for the preambles.
CineRanter, you described this little sit down better than Notre Dame predicted.
You outdid yourself with the jokes and innuendos in this vid lmfao
Very insightful video, never thought of their back and forth in this way before.
Thanks for uploading
Great analysis!
The scene with Tony and Johnny in the limo would always be my favorite. Great job analyzing this scene. It ranks up there, and it gives you further proof that Tony never had the makings of a varsity athlete.
1:25 “Massive parade float” lmfao
"No more fires."
Killed over a stable arson.
This is a masterclass to anyone wanting to write something like this
Tony can't kill anybody while he's got those half melted chocolate bullets.
Also...he's never had the makings of a varsity athlete...small hands.
POW! PING! Hitting out of park with the wise cracks on this one. I was laughing so hard I sounded like Ray Liotta.
Frankie was he shakin??
I’m rewatching sopranos rn after a 2 year break I’m on the episode where Jackie sees meadow at the college party and gives her x
got ya Willy in ya hand?
@@memedealermikey ur moms hand
POW, right in tha kissa, Gott em!!!
@Yamaha38XCRacer I saw that one comin!
I could’ve taken ecstasy but I didn’t !!
Two HOF actors in an unforgettable scene! Also, the analyses are always great - the sheer amount of quotes you work into every script are amazing -- bravo!
This was your best video by far
1:23 to 1:39 dead 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Love how the lines from the scenes were integrated in your narrative… I see what you did… you… you.
Both Tony and Ralphie are just as childish and volatile as Jackie Jr. the difference is Tony and Ralph are more intelligent in a cunning and manipulative way.
Love the commentary! Heard him do some other videos before just as funny!
Tony was upset. Jackie had the makings of a varsity athlete, and he didn't.😂
I love these videos and jokes inside of them. Thank you!
My favourite season of the sopranos. The weight is still my favourite episode but this one is only a hair behind it. Great video as always
The first 2 minutes is insane commentary 😂 pure fire
Extremely funny start, great take on that conversation between Tony and Ralph. I always thought it was strange and I don’t think I’ve ever thought “they were playing tennis trying to lay off the blame on each other”
Hes strong...that helps 😂😂😂😂 dude how did not know about ur channel!! SUBSCRIBED
Great break down of this scene.
Good breakdown nicely done👏🏿🤝🏽
I swear I’ve seen all of your sopranos videos and I’ve never seen more than season 1 because I just don’t have time. Thanks for letting me experience sopranos like this at least
The commentary! So excellent. Never disappoints.
oh shit, Cineranter posted… time to spark up
He's a dope addict! Did I already give you that?
You had me spitting my lunch all over the table with the “he’s the manager” 😂
Great analysis. The to and fro in the scene is absolutely masterful. Gandolfini plays the role perfectly there pressing home the advantage to ensure the job is done.
Brilliant analysis
"He sucked in that recoil like he sucked off that security guard" 🤣👏🤣👏🤣👏🤣👏🤣
When I heard you were doing a video on what you considered to be The Sopranos ' greatest scene, I immediately wondered which you would choose. When I saw the thumbnail today, I couldn't argue with you at all. An incredible scene that was instantly memorable when I saw it.
😂 well now it does. Great video! Such a great breakdown of that conversation 😂.
Love the breakdown of that scene. I was to much of a stoonad to realize its brilliance my first go round.
The puns are perfectly placed.
I'm addicted to your sopranos videos
I LOVE THIS CHANNEL, AND IT'S NARRATOR!!!! PURE CLASS!! THANKYOU MY FRIEND, FOR BRINGING JOY TO MY TH-cam LIFE ❤😅💯💯💯💯🙏🙏🙏🙏
I don't think Tony ever wanted Jackie jr. dead and Ralph knew this.
1:22
That was one of the funniest Vito roasts I’ve ever heard.
Fantastic breakdown!!
One of the best scenes in the show - watching the parade float trying to get into the get away car. lol
The first 2 mins of this are outstanding. 😂😂😂
Brilliant and funny analysis
' didn't ya?' Cold.
This is why the Sopranos is so beloved. I mean you could have set music to it and it would have been a ballet.
Great video CR
Out of respect for who? Lol had to. Door was open 0:59
@cineranter is pure genius. The sopranos videos are sublime and just quite literally, awesome. I live for them. What a terrific video. Bravo!🎉
Excellent video
Nice! Looks like someone read my dialogue translation on another youtube video of the original scene lol. Glad it could inspire others, almost word for word 😅!
Another amazing episode
Jokes on Tony… Ralph had the last laugh when he killed his own horse Pie-O my! 🐎🤣
You doo remember what happened to Ralph as a consequence Right?! 🙄
Never stop making this
