if your flowers lose color, that's normal. Put them in a book to flatten them, then use flower silica gel and put them in it, let them dry for about a week or so so they keep their colors and them boom. The gel works great if you want to preserve sunflowers, marigolds, leaves, anything. Sunflowers(bigger leaves, flowers, and or stems) will take about a month or so to fully dry, maybe even longer but it's 100% worth it trust me.
If you're ever given flowers then you can do this too. I press the flowers my boyfriend gives me and use them in wax seals for letters when I write to him. Or if you don't get given flowers you can always buy them for yourself or wait for them to go on sale in a grocery store near you!
The better way to do this if ur confused is to wait 2-4 weeks and pile heavy books on top. This will make sure they dry better and don’t end up as black or wrinkly
