    Glad to see you are doing well, you look great! 💕 Love how Easton came into the video to see mom.😍 I had my CT to get me ready for my radiation treatments yesterday, it was good but emotional as I used to be the one giving patients their radiation and now I’m the patient. I’m blessed that I have a good medical team and seeing your videos with your positivity is always uplifting. I agree with you totally…one day at a time, be positive, be mindful of what you eat, but hey…we’re all human. ❤️🥰
    Hope you have a great weekend!!

    Hi, I’ve just been diagnosed with breast cancer 2 weeks ago …. Also for the second time ! First time double mastectomy this time will need surgery then chemo. Has been great coming across your channel, I too am a very positive person like you , I know I’ll beat this but always good to hear what to expect with chemo etc . Thankyou for sharing , you are the only person I know that has breast cancer twice and you are doing amazingly 🥰

      Me too. Left breast in 2013 with lumpectomy and radiation then 5 years of estrogen receptor antagonist. Routine mammogram revealed cancer in the Right breast-almost 10 years to the day of my last diagnosis. I was not offered genetic testing back in 2013, and I wonder now if I could have avoided a second diagnosis if I had opted for a bilateral mastectomy at that time. This time I did have the bilateral mastectomy with tissue expanders placed at that time. I am 10 days post expander exchanges to permanent implants. I’ll tell you, I was absolutely stunned when they told me cancer was back but in opposite side. This has been quite an experience. I will have genetic testing soon, of course. Radiation treatments will begin late this month. Apparently, we’re members of an undesirable elite club. Good luck to you!

    Hello dear you are a surprise!😊 I love the way you made your video. Specific, uplifting and enjoyable. I had a cancer on my left breast with 2 lymph nodes. I had my mastectomy with reconstruction. Now waiting for my oncotype test result. I wish I do not have to undergo with chemotherapy. Radiation is definite, just waiting for my wound to be totally healed and as I say my oncotype test. I’m very scared right now, I hate pains because my tolerance is so low. I wanted to thank you with all your advices and positive outlook. Your Aura is beautiful. I subscribe on your channel and will definitely watch more. Thanks beautiful❤ I hope you had a chance to read this. By doing your videoclips keeps us moving for better life and you are saving emotional and mental depression.

    Hi Marina! Thank you so much for your videos. I really look forward to hearing about your well being. I am 2 months outside of chemo and am scheduled for bilateral mastectomy with construction as well as lymph node removal next Friday. I know you did a short video about your mastectomy some time ago. As I am closer to mine, I would really like hear more details such as preparation, recovery, level of pain, etc. I have read different things about it and am quite anxious. Actually my biggest fear is the pain of the dye injection for the lymph nodes. The first time I had this 17 years ago, the pain was unbelievable (no anesthesia). This time around my doctor promises that there will be anesthesia🙂. Anyways any tips you can provide would be helpful. Blessings to you and your beautiful family.

      Hi Charlene! Great questions. I prepared for mastectomy with having shirts I could button in front, pillows to prop myself up for healing, healthy snacks to take my pain pills with, drank lots of water lost surgery, and planning for physical therapy a month after. You’re right! The lymph node dye is awful. It’s stings! They do numb you but that can sting too so ask for a numbing cream to put in the skin an hour before. It’s goes fast. You can do it! Prayers for you!

    Hello Marina, I was diagnosed with noninvasive ductal carcinoma triple negative stage 3 last year. I am also BRCA positive. I finished chemo and had a double mastectomy. I am now debating whether or not to go through with radiation. Do you have any advice that might make my decision easier? I would really appreciate it. Your videos are so helpful.

    • @MarinaBlackford
      @MarinaBlackford  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Samantha, thank you for being here. I had a similar diagnosis and experience the first time I had cancer. I did not do radiation. It was not recommended since I had removed all of my tissue and had the pathology come back clear. I have no regrets on not doing radiation the first time. I guess it would depend on what your doctor is suggesting and why. Ask all your questions. I did radiation after my second cancer journey because of my recurrence in such high risk.

    I am on round 2 of breast cancer. Double mastectomy 1st time. This 2nd time found a lump in about same place as yours almost under the arm. This time I'm doing chemo....4 treatments total. About to have 2nd one...Taxol combined with another. Thereafter will have radiation. Most likely m-f for 4 to 5 weeks. How did you find the radiation after the chemo? Did cause alot of fatigue? Any other side affects besides skin being red and tender? You are an amazing woman!!!!

    • @MarinaBlackford
      @MarinaBlackford  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! We had similar experiences it sounds like. Radiation was easier than chemo for me. Radiation therapy is quick like 20 minute appointments and no redness or burning til after week 2. I used lots of aloe and ointment and that helped. I did 30 sessions and had skin irritation and some pain at the end. I had fatigue but still not as bad as chemo. I hope all goes well for you!

      We are a pretty normal family I think. My focus is on buying organic and helping them make better choices than junk food all the time. We eat a variety of food. I do too. I don’t crave sweets but we played the “Candyland” board game tonight and awarded ourselves with chocolate chips and mini marshmallows. It was a blast. 😊

    Hi Marina! This is sort of off topic but re chemo curls....in your experience how long does it take to get rid of chemo curls. Any secret to speeding up getting rid of the curls back to your normal hair.

    • @MarinaBlackford
      @MarinaBlackford  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Pamela! I still have chemo curls if I don’t straighten my hair after blow drying. So I feel like it gets less as the hair grows out more if the curls are not “tight curls”. But I definitely still have to flat iron it. I hope that helps.
