Hello, Ms. Jo, I truly admire your advanced artistry in leathercraft. You're simply a genius!!!! You're also a role model for many, many future crafters all over the world, past, present and future. Please don't quit...................................OK?
Thank you. As a newbie leatherworker with a little over a year of experience, I'm always intrigued by your subtle actions. I catch little tricks by watching you and wonder why I didn't think of that. Keep on craftin'!
I do a heavier bag based on a Western Saddle Bag, but this is better, and lighter. I love the piping and the asymmetrical attachments of front and back. Brilliant. Tell Sky I said Ruff-rrrrrufffff!
Hello Jo. I'm a new member of your channel and I found you looking for leather tools, so I found you and entered your channel here on youTube. I want to tell you that you really helped me in what I was looking for but also confused me somewhere :). I also want to tell you that your constructions are excellent. Maybe at some point you will allow me to send you an e-mail to ask about some things I want about leather tools. Congratulations on your work and your help to us. My name is Sakis and I am writing to you from Greece. Jo… .. thank you Sakis.
Hey Jo, can you tell me what style of awl you are using while stitching at 11:10? I'm trying to search for a flat awl like that but I am having a hard time finding one.
Thank you Brent 🙂 I say double hand stitching as that's what I know it as, it's the same as the saddle stitching method with 2 needles on one piece of thread.
Buongiorno e complimenti per i tuoi lavori! Volevo chiederti se quello che usi per tingere i bordi del cuoio è lo stesso mordente per il legno. Grazie tanto e buon lavoro!
*Quick Question* - I'm new to leatherwork so I'm wondering what I should do with all the scraps I'll be generating. There's only so many key fobs I can give away as gifts. The only thing I can think of is some sort of firm stuffing? - Cathy (&, accidently, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown/Pimisi
Yeah you can use them as fillers, zip pullers and covering press studs. I also keep some for when I am sharpening tools as I can use them to see if the tool needs more work
Just absolutely amazing work! I'm curious as to the retail price of such a bag. That's the problem with making things by hand, you can't really charge what it's worth! I think that bag would easily command $200 or $300 dollars (US) or more!
@@JHLeather I used to be a juried woodcarver, made spoons and walking sticks. Selling through a local art gallery sure jacks the price up but of course they take a hefty percentage. It was nice side money but no way to make a real living, for me anyway. You do great work, thanks for sharing your expertise.

Beautiful bag , on my Santa list with the leather. Ho ho ho.
Well described process-and a lot of work. Not sure how your hands are lot lacerated from all that stitching. At any rate, well done!
Thank you 😊
Nice bag, love to watch you stitch!
Thank you

Great project!
Thank you 👍
I wish I had a decent french skiver. I use a Japanese kiridashi for most of my skiving. A french would come in handy pretty often tho
Yeah they are pretty handy to have around 👍
Beautiful bag, can you tell me what glue you use?
Felicidades excelente trabajo👍👍👍
Great work 🏵🌹🌺🌷🍁🍂 Good luck and best wishes to you 🙏
Thank you 🙂
Great video as usual, how many layers are there when the gusset, with the piping, is stitched to the outside?
Can you please make a pattern and do a tutorial for how to make the coach revel handbag not the one with the pattern, but the black leather one

Like always ty❤️
I wanna😍😍
Months ahead of my skill..can I use print scaling to adjust the size of the bag? Or would that be all over the place?
I am not sure to be honest, I haven't tried it. I think it should work if you scale all the pages the same though.
Very nice and instructive. Thanks! Why do you also glue some of the pieces as you will sew them anyway?
It is so it all gets held together for when it is stitched in place
👍❤ very nice
Thank you 🙂
Hi Jo from Huddersfield.Great video thanks and lovely bag. Do you get chance to make many saddles these days?
Thanks Andy glad you like the video 🙂 I have not made a saddle since doing my exams 😂
Hello, I’m new to your channel and absolutely love it and your way of teaching! I’m new to leather work and not sure what you mean by double stitch.
Thank you Brent 🙂 I say double hand stitching as that's what I know it as, it's the same as the saddle stitching method with 2 needles on one piece of thread.
@@JHLeather that’s what I thought! Thank you so much for the reply, you are amazing and inspirational!
Thank you very much 😁
Hi Jo, did you use Lamport for this project? If so, which colour? Thanks :)
Yes, its the Chocolate one 🍫

Lovely work as usual Jo. Where can I purchase some of that material webbing? Thanks :)
Thanks Sam 😊 it's from Abbey England www.abbeyengland.com/4960.html

@@JHLeather Great. Thanks!
You could possible make knife/tool handles with them.
Soms knives have stacked leather handles, like the famous ww2 ka-bar.
Vore nice clean walk excellent
Hermoso trabajo ,hermoso perrito ,felicitaciones
What gauge leather are you using?
Beautiful lady 💚
Very nice , big enough to make your shoulder sore if you empty it.lol
Lol yes, I managed to easily fit 100 rounds in and that was quite heavy so stopped there!
What type of leather is best for this bag?
All the info on the leather is included in the pattern pack 👍
I would say something like 8oz veg tan leather. But that's me.
Could I just suggest that you can print on heavier cardboard and just cut out and use...most printers can do quite thick weight of paper.
you are right. I do sometimes. But I use paper with glue(just peel and glue it).
Great
muchas gracias hermosa...
What sort of cartridges is one supposed to carry in such a bag?
This type of bag is usually used to carry shotgun cartridges on a "traditional style shoot"
👌👌👍
Thank you 🙂

As long as you have the right target audience you can make money selling handmade products no problem 👍
