@@joshuaearlmacabate-ff3rp Intelligent people learn from wrong to make it good.
Yeah also show that why Bruce has a no-kill rule because deep down he knows people can change and be better, they all deserve a 2nd chance.
@@vengeance4566 what about insane killers like Joker who had over 100 chances?
And Bruce's compassion for the very man who took his parents away proves why, at his core, Bruce is a real hero. And that there's more to being Batman than just wanting revenge.
A hero saves innocent lives. Batman not killing the joker condemns innocents to die. Batman works as a symbol and fails as a hero.
@@texteelThat’s on Gotham. He’d completely disregard the judicial system and the people if he did that. He wouldn’t be Batman if he took that option and didn’t believe his city could be better and make the correct choices.

@@Batman-ro9mjUnfortunately, yes. At this point, I think Gotham needs to disappear. It’s a failure.

Considering how over-the-top and edgelord modern DC comics tend to be, especially ones involving the Joker, this was actually pretty well-crafted and subdued. Quite good.
Well it a good well craft edglord that take itself seriously.
We need more like it.
In particular it's a great depiction of a Joker who knows who Batman is. Because at the end of the day, all he would ever do with that information is something just like this. Using Bruce's backstory as ammunition to further hurt Batman.
Modern DC comics aren’t “edgelord”. Maybe Batman’s comics, maybe the Dark Knights Metal stuff, but DC overall isn’t edgy, lol.
Now over the top, that’s a different story. Then again, it’s a superhero comics book company. It’s supposed to be over the top.

I think it's funny that no matter how pissed Bruce feels towards Joe Chill for murdering his parents, he never considered killing the man. He just lets Chill die on his own terms.
Yes. He only ever wanted to know why he killed his parents. He understands now; Chill had a darkness inside him that took control. Turned him into a desperate fool
It’s powerful having Batman see that his parents killer isn’t some generic cold sadistic killer, but rather a man like any other plagued by his own inner demons and unfortunate luck in life; seeing just how much the murder of his parents has affected both of them. That is why Bruce brought company and comfort to Chill in his deathbed symbolizing forgiveness and ofc because that’s Batman. A true hero.
It would make him as bad as the killer
Oh, I'm sure he's considered it plenty of times growing up. Thing is, here Batman *has* grown, so when he reunites with Joe Chill, that consideration is long gone. But even then, I'm sure it's in the back of his mind somewhere.
That ending gave a real feeling of inner peace at the end
For real

This is the Batman we love. Justice, forgiveness, not revenge. It's nice to see Bruce get a little closure, and Joe feels he's been forgiven. I can't even imagine living with such guilt. The writers and artists did a great job.
I think his guilt is also important here. He was practically the only criminal during Batman’s career who showed repentance.
Probably the best aspect of this story. Having read the story, I'd say it's good but not great. The Joe Chill stuff holds it up. The Joker stuff is . . . not bad, but far from the best
Joker did bruce a favor, getting him a closure to the sorrow from back then, when the crime happened. It is twisted, but also quite satisfying to watch
I feel like that’s the point, joker knows who Batman is and doesn’t care, Joe chill probably did too, but to joker why let Batman have a pain more powerful and overwhelming then himself? It’s unthinkable that somebody else had an even more restless spot in Batman’s mind
Joker's 'favor' was hilariously narcissistic in the end though. He just couldn't stand Joe Chill being Bruce's greatest obsession.
Joker is a yandere waifu. You can't convince me otherwise 😤
@@nojob16 He truly is lol.
@@nojob16 He's very jealous 😂😂😂
Joe’s remorse over the killing is what made Bruce believe more in his no killing rule. He realized that the man changed or at least tried to. That alone was worth saving his life.
He didn’t save him because he changed, he saved him because he values all human life, even the bad people. That’s why Batman would even save the joker.
@@legoalityfilms7606 I think he did it for both reasons, as Chill did change at least how it felt it, as well his rules.
Give that damn killer some respect. He created the Batman
Bruce didn't ask to be Batman, and if Joe hadn't killed his parents his life would have gone in a different direction.
The ends don’t justify the means.
We don't know what he would have been, raised by his loving parents.
This is why I never got behind the idea of Joe Chill secretly being a hired goon to assassinate the Waynes, for I think the idea that a single random act of violence creating Batman is way more powerful and thematic. At the end of the day, the crime in Gotham would have created a Batman even if the Waynes never died

@@handsuporillshoot381 If the translation from genuine article to adaptive movie turns the main man from a well thought, strong willed heavy character into a brooding, cold edge lord, then the adaptation has failed. Simple is as simple does.
Joker did all of this because he was jealous Joe Chill might have more rent free real estate in Bruce’s head than he does. That’s got to be the most Joker thing ever.
Imagine hearing the man who killed your parents basically say that he did it cuz he was petty, and broken, and yet still choosing to save him, even going to his death bed to give him (and yourself) some semblence of closure.

Very normal human behaviour, if you see the person that ended both your parents's lives laying in bed with cancer you wouldn't want to beat them up, you would feel pity and try to understand what was going through his mind instead.

I've always seen Joe Chill as the "Father" of Batman. Not Bruce Wayne: the Batman.
Batman was born in that alley, created by Joe Chill when he murdered Thomas and Martha Wayne. If he hadn't done that, Batman would not have been born. And Gotham would be without its protectors and likely in an even worse place. Joe Chill is no hero, but he gave the city something it desperately needed.
Joker could *never* be Batman's Greatest Pain, but the guy always was jealous of anyone having anything emotionally connected to Batman, and that included Joe Chill. What he once again failed to understand is that Batman *doesn't* hate Joe Chill because Joe Chill hates himself enough for the both of them.
It would be different if Joe was unapologetic, but he was. He spent so much of what remained of his life, waiting for Batman to take his rightful vengeance on him. Never did he think Batman would actually forgive him.
But that's because Batman is also Bruce Wayne, who had plenty of time to understand that all Joe Chill ever was, was a coward. He was no madman: just an ultimately normal cowardly dude on the streets. That's why Batman can't hate him. Joe's literally part of the people of Gotham he protects.
Joe Chill was no hero, but he helped shaped one of Earth's greatest

First off, this is the second time I've seen Batman showing Joe Chill mercy (with the first being from Batman: The Brave and The Bold.)
Secondly, this reminds me of a description from the knight's code of chivalry; specifically, the one regarding honor. It is an admirable act to comfort a dying friend but it is an act of honor to comfort a dying enemy
I wish I had that kind of integrity, and moral strength. God help us,
Imagine this story being an episode on the Animated Series with Kevin Conroy
I don't usually subscribe to these things or comment on videos. But... I like your style. A lot. Don't change.
Moral of the story: forgive and you shall be forgiven
This proves Batman is a hero to the core
The end scene, the ability to forgive, is what makes Batman what he truly is, a hero. This is good writing, it is how heroes are supposed to be depicted. They're supposed to be role models for kids to embody, as heroic figures and stories, ideals to strive towards.
That actually bring tears to my eyes 😢💯
Batman The Brave and the bold recreated and animates this story so well. While it doesn’t show every good scene in the comic, it shows Batman trying to save Chill after deciding not to kill him with his two consciousness. Even as a kids show this is still a very dark episode that I absolutely loved
