Looks at the new set of Duty Generals that have been released by Evony and analyzes why these duty generals are practically useless for the majority of players.
I have been using Hammurabi as my research duty officer. The main reason being his higher based stats enable me to cultivate him up to Super Duty level that gives a +40% research speed bonus (I have him at level 37 where his base stats for Leadership is 930 and Politics is at 928). I still have Mundeok waiting in the wings. I could only get him up to Special duty level with the 25% research speed increase. Mundeok is at 882 and 879 for base stats for these that makes it impossible at this level to get up to 1400 point requirements.
That’s interesting. I guess in that case, it would be beneficial for you to use Hammurabi. 🙂 For reference, my Mundeok is at Lv 38 and is Super Duty, so you don’t have long to go 😉👌
You are absolutely correct about that! I focused on ascending the duty officers before all else and most of them are 8-9 stars because they give the most buffs to ALL troops! I do however want to point out that the premium Research officer does provide siege buffs that might make it worth putting him on duty during battles unless you have ascended the regular one enough to be better! 🤷🏽♂️ 😊
The premium duty generals, except for the new 3 new duty generals, who are the only choice, are intended to be on duty during PVP, while the original group is intended to be on duty during peacetime. It's like having Shajar as your wall assistant during peace but replacing her when it is PVP time. Hammurabi is intended to be the Academy duty officer only during PVP, or if he's the only one you have. The choice is whether they are better with only their main skill than the "peacetime" duty general who likely can be ascended. I got lucky with Ashoka and switch him out with Menshikov. I have Menshikov on right now. I'll switch him with Ashoka for BoG later today and switch back after it's over. I'll switch out for SVS next week. Menshikov for growth, Ashoka for battle. But Aka is right about the ascension issue. It is very difficult to even get the shards to ascend a premium duty general to even 1 star, so he's right about that. You'll have to decide whether a well-ascended regular duty general is better than a premium duty general with only the basic main skill (check specialties as well).
That’s exactly what Nola said except he explained that they’re pvp time duty gens as well. They add hp etc to your troops. So you use during war to get the buffs and switch back to the acsendable duty general for peace

I agree. As long as you are willing to switch everyone around, there's no reason to give up even the basic level PvP buffs. Plus, the Oracle likes me. 😉

I’m stacking those Delphic Oracle chest. 😂. I discovered recently that the generals inside change. Unfortunately, what I was originally going to get is no longer in there and I have no interest in the current selection. I’ll wait it out while working towards K35. I find those premium duty generals useful. I simply switch to them before entering the battlefield. I switch back after the event. 🤷🏽♀️. I love and appreciate your videos. One thing I’m getting tired of is the older snobs misleading lower level players every time they ask if a general is good or not. They then proceed to shoot quality generals down just because premium alternatives are out there. I then always bring up the question of money and they always get silent. I always give the same advice pick quality generals available in the core game and let RNGesus sort you out. I will never put down anyone for coining but come on. Not everyone is going to.
Premium is supposed to be the best of the best, not the best sometimes, it feels like out of the bad ones you mentioned, at least two were Friday morning jobs, do a job Friday, your brain is already in weekend mlde, I hope everyone understood that
I recruited all my duties from tavern only duty I got was Ashoka to 1 red star lol I've got Stilicho also but since those two ive never won another duty officer from Oracle I have enough fragments for practically all tavern duty officers @450 or 300 ish besides rally spot
I got lucky and got two of those premium duty generals. However, like you say, I know I won't be able to ascend them. But I am not at the point of the game where I will be ascending my duty generals anytime soon. So I plan to use the premium ones until I start to get to the point of ascending my duty generals.
You mentioned "when you begin to ascend your duty generals". When do you believe is a reasonable time to begin that endeavor? After your march generals are fully ascended?
Definitely NOT after your march generals are fully ascended 😅😂 It will depend on your priorities, but when you want to focus on your defense, you will probably begin paying attention to those. Get the generals ascended to 1 star, then you can decide what to do from there 🙂👌
Same here brother! And not just with gens. My alt gets all the good gens, and even the marches from the compass event without spending a cent. Lol. And don't get me started on refining. I need a mill gems or more to get 4 gold on one piece.
I got heraclius in the trial of knights $100 package with my 3x coupon. The other two i got were copies of someone i already had but when i saw heraclius i about busted out of my shoes.
This video may be 6 months out, but I still feel the same as I would be now. That is, the Premium are absolutely NOT useless and of them ESPECIALLY Ashoka is not useless. Ashoka giving a Range buff a universal one at that imo puts him as a use over Menshnikov. Perhaps if you can go to 10 star quickly or at once then perhaps, but IF you can one red star the premium then usually that ends up after specialties to be in the premiums favor. I think you seem to discount the specialties for some of them. Many have a in city attack bonus to a troop type and even in the non- 4th specialty. to each his own though. Got to say, I could give three shiz about the research speed when i can swap him back in just for big research time. Otherwise Hammurabi is one of the most valuable with what he gives at "idle" so to speak. Especially should you win them free, it is a no brainer to use them when the duty are not fully ascended and definitely during your "peace" time so to speak. To each their own I suppose.
The specialties and ascension are superior for the new generation. As with most things in this game, it's a matter or what you are willing to day. Same for the new sub city generals, and the PVP generals. The best bang for your buck is the "pairs" like Pallas and Kleos, Douglas and Eleanor, etc. They will be the top generals for siege, ranged, etc. for about 12 months or so.

I dont put any good duty general beacuase i dont have 😂 . My highest general rank is electra. So when i have to research, build troops i used to put electra in that duty general gain and remove it. No tension of any duty general 😂😂😂😂
yeap, you`re correct but why are talking about duty generals only? We have the same situation for all premium generals in evony. If you can`t get the copies from tavern, relics or events - it`s almost impossible to ascend them. And with Evony introducing new general every 2 weeks it`s almost impossible to get needed generals from scrolls or from Champion too. Surely if you have adequate alternative for free or from events like knights trial - no point to switch on premium options. But there are a lot of premium duty generals who haven`t free alternatives and it`s better to have them even without ascending than using any generals on duty spots just to get duty buffs.
The reason the premium generals are still a bit better than the premium duty generals is because of the way Evony releases the generals. New premium generals released in the General Summoning are a lot more accessible to the player base compared to the Duty generals, which are usually released through special events or are in the cake. So while most people will not be able to fully ascend premium generals, it is still possible to ascend them a bit 1-3 stars. I fall into this category as well. But these premium duty generals are impossible for the majority of players to ascend.
You could use both at the same time: the old general for “peacetime” and the premium general for PvP. 👌 However, once you get to the point where you start doing the ascension on your duty generals, you wouldn’t be able to do that, because the general you ascend will be the one that you will be using all the time, and that is most likely going to be the old duty general. Specialties work on duty generals, but it’s a similar logic for specialties: no point doing specialties for a general that you will not be using 😇
“The reason Evony designed it like this” is because of the 2% that will spend enough to fully ascend them and those who will spend to get one copy or more! 😂
Yes, the general is not all you would get for spending $1,000, but it still means that you have to spend that much money 💰💵 if you want to ascend the general (freebies and extras aside). Also, the special duty general pack is not as good as the regular event pack. You get much more value from the regular pack. The only reason one would opt for the lower value duty general pack is because they want the general 😉

Hey. There is a new building (in 1502 atleast). you get buffs that go up to lvl10 (just need k10 and do new quests to be able to go to lvl10.) For example you get +15% construction & research speed, +25% production, +5% atk, def, hp , +6%atk on monster and some healing +training related and misc. Basically you get a golden Europe, America, China and other buffs from the start of the game.
S for super coiner, i think S in the clothes for super aka. you are never knows how many fans you have aka becarefull maybe we will kidnap you soon 🤣🤣🤣

The point is since you cannot ascend them you cannot get those buffs. You have to weigh the extra things from ascension with the base stats

I got ashoka when I was around keep level 11 and just did my champion and got him out of it. Still using him for my keep and works out great

I use Casear/Sanada for hunting monsters an Casear/Custer for world boss I am however using li namosa for pvp cav since his skills are universal.
most of my premium are almost all 3 red stars because of knight trial package. you can get them there easily
