The sound mix for the whole show was awful, they seemed strangely subdued by their standards, they never played 3 of my favourite songs (thank God for second best) and I want either Rebekah or Dai back. Apart from that it slayed.
Yes! I was trying not to say anything as I really want BBC to give us the whole show, but damn, I’ve watched fan vids that have sound quality not much worse than this. It is a letdown.
@@alanadams7071 Very glad to hear that! Olivia’s another one I really wanted to watch, but when I’ve tried to, I get a “not available outside UK” message. Gutted.
I heard it on the radio yesterday and thought it was low too. Low for someone singing backing, nevermind someone singing lead vocals in parts of the song too. Georgia & Aurora’s mics even sounded louder than Lizzie’s when they joined in.
They should try and get permission to do the scooby doo hex girls songs. Earth, wind, fire and air. We made love bad but you don't care. We ride the wind with a field of fire. We made love bad but you don't care. I think I got that right.
They’ve never had a full-time drummer in the band - choosing instead to hire drummers. You’ve mostly heard Rebekah Raynor in their live performances as she is their tour drummer, but she wasn’t available for this performance for some reason.
Might be their weakest performance during their festival tour but it is worth it. LDP are good despite the sounds issues and tiredness after post Coachella in the USA.
Dare I say it… future female band to fill the gap queen left ( not replace) when Freddie died. Stage presence, characters and their own music plus being able to play live… just let down here by sound technician.
Better not to say it! This band aren't even worthy enough to shine Freddie's boots, let alone be compared to Queen! Stage presence, their own music and being able to play live you say? That's pretty much what all bands up until the early 2000's could do! It's a prerequisite of being in a band - unless of course you have no writing or instrument ability and are pushed forward because you have a pretty face or look different. Song writers keep rehashing the same old riffs without originality. We are now in the era of the worst music with the ever revolving doors for the one hit wonders.
The drummer takes away the power of the band, it seems like soft lounge pop, Coachella was powerful. Two versions of the same band. I'll stick with the powerful one that made me want to jump.
It's less about the drummer and more poor mixing and a (new?) backing track. For instance, in the section starting at 2:18, Lizzie's vocals are mixed way too low and Casper isn't playing the drums, but we still hear a new rhythm section (sounds a bit like bongos) that wasn't there before. I get that they continually want to mix their performances up, but I don't really think it worked here. I've also seen them in person with Casper and the performance (including Casper) was great.
Thanks for your comment! Beyond the mix they did not look powerful like in other live ones, I think that the drummer's style does not contribute in the sense of empowering the band. That's all. He's not a bad drummer but I feel like he doesn't make the band powerful, did you have the opportunity to listen to the 2 coachella shows? surprisingly explosive! the style of the drummer and the power made everything perfect... on another level....
I completely agree with your opinion. I have watched videos of other concerts with this drummer (Primavera 2024, January 2024, Paris), and they all have the same tendency. I don't think he's a bad drummer, but I feel he lacks the skills compared to the other drummers who support TLDP (Daiana Azar, Rebekah Rayner). TLDP's performance at Coachella 2024 was absolutely amazing.
@@hk-qb6mt Exactly! Yesterday I listened to Coachella live again and I was surprised again by how powerful it sounds. At that time the drummer was Daiana Azar, I found several videos of her on the web, it seems like rock is in her blood! Basically the band sounds different with each drummer... and it doesn't help maintain a sound identity. I think they aren't giving it the importance it has.
Dai is wonderful, I love her drumming and thought she fit well with the band. And it was even more impressive considering how quickly she needed to learn the songs. Casper is fantastic as well, he just has a different style. This mix does not do him or the band justice. Check out some of the audience vids that have started showing up from this past weekend’s show at Primavera Sound Barcelona. The livestream audio mix was a mess there also, but the audience vids have better sound. You still may not enjoy Casper’s style of drumming better than Dai’s or Rebekah’s, but I think you’ll hear that he’s not just a “tickler” on drums. He can also bring the pain when appropriate.👹
I'M JUST IN LOVE WITH THIS BAND
I hope Daiana Azar will play the drums like she did at Coachella.
Her performance at Coachella was amazing.
best drummer at all! This sound performance, wasn´t good enough!
Yup. The energy that she injects to the performance blew my mind on that set at Coachella
She's the best!!!!
or rebeckah..both hit the drums hard and are skillfull
this INTRO ahh i need it infused in my veins or something it's just so GOOD
Thank you!! Been waiting for this, hopefully we get the full set. I was rather disappointed to not be able to watch the livestream.
Amazing !
After all, something good came out of the covid-19-period: This band was formed in 2021, the worst covid-19 time.
❤❤❤❤
very mad at the mix though WHY CAN'T I HEAR LIZZIE

I'm watching Olivia Dean on the same stage right now and the mix is sooo much better@sah-win

😍
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
You are a very powerfull band. Need to get a powerful drummer like in coachella
I feel like the end of their set was their Hendrix on Lulu or Pistols on ITV moment
They have that pleasent sound like Arcade Fire
They do.
I wish he would hit those drums a bit harder.
Great performance but the sounds terrible, what happened? did they mix it in the dark?
yea some venues have terrible sound like the roundhouse thingy venue
😊
arguably the best "classical rock" song of the decade
Biiiiig Hex Girls energy
They should try and get permission to do the scooby doo hex girls songs.

I think I got that right.
they are like mirror universe spice girls
??????????😂😂😂😂
Well, they don't play ANY instruments!
Shame on the person who mixed this, unless it sounded better in person that is. This doesn't sound good on youtube though. Can barely hear the lead.
It sounded amazing in person, they have done a really bad job on the upload
Noooooo!!!! Y Daiana Azar???? Un error no seguir con la mejor!!!!! Un gran error!!!!!
The actual band is incredible, but whats with all that funk from the drummer?

i know mate...i prefer the 2 femaile drummers
Casper, stunning drummer!
he doesnt hit them hard enough

The sound was terrible, sound desk must have fallen asleep.
Do you like the band? I like them

Rock is dead, let the girls have a go...
Bunch of upper middle class offspring playing dress up as a rock band 😂
The worst new band around 🤮
They are the best band. Wrong. Dispute the poor sound quality of this performance.
Most creative and best new band.
Drummer sucks or not. But he is ok. Chris. Possibly blame sound quality.
Your the worst. They have their sound and it's good.
