    Nigel, your work is exacting and precise. Plus you have a love of the hobby that is evident in the way you speak. Such honesty is refreshing, and I enjoy your sprue reviews and your build updates. Keep modelling and have care; that glue gets EVERYWHERE 😂😂😂😂

    Hi Nigel, I have to admit I find these videos fascinating and I love that you cover all the research, prep work, thinking and reasoning behind the actual modification work, my background is toolmaking, tool and condition setting in the plastics industry but also mechanical design engineering so lots of relevance for me :) thanks so much for the videos, especially the diligence shown and the sheer number of them. With all that being said I would love to see more if you have the time :) take care.

      You know it's funny.. I have many contributors, some of whom have contributed every month for a long time. they never complain or moan about anything. yet, it often appears to be people who just turn up and start complaining, criticising and moaning. Such a shame that people get so upset about something they can switch off??

I would not have the time nor the patience to tackle a job of this magnitude but I certainly appreciate that you do - and you get these corrections make. Well done Nigel.

    Hi Nigel:
    Many thanks for creating this video regarding the modifications you made to the Trumpy 1/200 Bismarck hull. As always, you've made these alterations easy to understand and incorporate into our own projects with a higher degree of success and confidence. I'm also pleased to see, as others likely are, that the corrections are far less intensive when compared to the 1/200 Titanic and Arizona (what WAS Trumpeter thinking with those two?!).
    As for those who provide negative comments, the world is, sadly, full of those who feel the need to bring others down to make themselves feel better and more important/self-worthy. Some simply cannot "do" and prefer to condemn those who "can" instead of applauding and supporting their efforts. The DELETE key was developed to "manage" such individuals.
    Looking forward to your upcoming treatment of the "Scharnhorst" with anticipation!
    Cheers!

    Hi Nige, so glad to see this video as Bismarck with advanced Pontos is my next 1/200 build after Arizona. Hull looks amazing👍🏻. Couple of things I spotted worth flagging to you. The bow anchor hole is a bit low in my opinion needs filling and moving. The haws pipe bulges on the hull sides where the anchors sit are A bit shallow and need building up, again in my opinion. Finally on the stern there is a lip that is missing and needs adding on.

    What blows my mind is you did a little research and figured out the hull is way wrong. The end results of your corrections results in a hull that’s not only accurate, but in this case, would have actually been EASIER for Trumpeter to have molded in the first place! Why don’t they bother making this stuff right? I understand that’s sometimes the molding technology won’t allow for it. That I get. But take the late WingNut Wings company, for example. They took the time to research each aircraft thoroughly before molding it. And they produced the greatest aircraft kits seen to date. You would think someone over there could do 20 more minutes of research before undertaking such a massive project to get it as accurate as possible. These kits take long enough to build without having to make these corrections.

    • @NigelsModellingBench
      @NigelsModellingBench  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree Ben. The Bismarck, Hood and Scharn aren't too bad, however Arizona, Titanic and Iowa's are way off!! The Yortktown is an utter joke. To think.. the same manufacturer released the 1/350 Yorktown and 1/200 around the same time, and the hull shape is totally different?? Trumpeter seem to lack the passion of the likes of WNW and Tamiya.

    • @TheMidwestModelShop
      @TheMidwestModelShop 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NigelsModellingBench agreed. I think they are all about the buck and accuracy takes a back seat. Tamiya needs to get into the 1/200 scale game. I don’t get caught up into the hull detail. I just build it as is, mostly and try to correct the simple things. But one day I may choose to tackle these corrections like you have. What I really need to do is win the lottery and start my own company to compete with these other builders. I can’t believe no one is doing 1/200 scale destroyers. I think there is a HUGE market out there for them.
