Fun fact, Falkner's Pidgeotto may not necessarily be hacked, but instead from Viridian Forest. In Pokemon Yellow, you have a 1% chance of encountering a level 11 Pidgeotto.
Good point, you can also get them in HG and SS in Viridian Forest at lv 7 so I suppose hes not really cheating.

I think Ed is just a cheater! (its probably because my scyther was only lv 13 when I caught it and I assume it had bad ivs).
@@psyduckspice you increase your odds if the pokémon you catch is at full health. A good way to win is by catching a lvl18 venonath for instance.
Yeah I think the main reason I was because my Scyther was low hp. Oh well, more fun to blame Ed

It was not in a nuzlocke but my butterfree in FR had sleep powder, dream eater, giga drain and substitute. It refused to die😅. It held a leftovers too!
That moveset sounds like it would turn butterfree into a monster! Butterfree so underrated.

Great video and nice Nuzlocke, man! I don't know about the exact damage ranges, etc. but I think your Scyther might have killed Aerodactyl if you used Wing Attack boosted by Technician, instead of using X-Scissor. Not 100% sure about that, though 😬 Keep up with your work and content!! 👍😎

The tension in that Lance fight really had me rooting for each of your bugs to pull through against all odds, and I admire your cojones for sticking it through and going for every last Hail Mary you could! Super fun run, Cloth was my mvp just for slicing through those gyms.
Thanks! Yeah, its a shame about the ending but all my bugs did their best so Im ok with it tbh. I still can't pick between Myla and Cloth for Mvp, they both carried so hard.
You could have gotten a choice scarf from mom eventually with earning money before Archie letting you just unga bunga brick break and outspeed ^^

It was because you didn't use shackle. Shuckle would've tanked so many damages for you and give shackle rest, you can sweep any pokemon with that pokemon as a pivot.
Yeah I went with forretress instead, probably a mistake in hindsight
I think gust on butterfree actually is stronger than confusion bc stab, but fun run!
It's actually fairly close because gust has stab but butterfree has a much higher special attack, plus confusion has a slightly higher base damage. Normally you'd be right gust would actually still do more damage but because of the IVs and nature on my butterfree in the video confusion does more, barely. Glad you enjoyed!
@@psyduckspice isnt gust special in gen 4 though? So its just 50 bp on confusion vs an effective 60 for gust? Or am i trippin
@@zachfedyk4740 huh, the more you know. It is special, had it in my head it was physical. That's really annoying, second big mistake I made during that run because I assumed I knew something without double checking.
Hey can you try a hardcore nuzlocke of a pokemon game where the level cap is half of that of the boss battles? It sounds difficult but i saw pokemon challenges do this in platinum and he didn't finish it, but you like to challenge yourself from the few videos i have seen and it would be cool to see even if you don't finish it!
I saw those videos by pokemon challenges aswell! I might try it at some point, I'd need to get far enough to make a video though so we'll see how it goes.

I found your channel as am currently doing this very run myself. Sorry to rub salt into the wound but surely technician Myla wing attack would have KOd aerodactyl as does more damage than x scissor?

Did u restart some of ur fights? I saw that ur spinarak was at level 18 when it defeated kakuna at 6:13 and then defeated metapod at level 17 3 seconds later. Which then leveled up to 18 which immediately ended the battle. How could it jump between levels like that unless u literally lost the battle and then restarted
I see I was really confused by this myself, because I know I didnt cheat but you're correct, something strange is happening. After rewatching the clip I worked it out though, I put the fight between Kakuna and Metapod in the wrong order. In game I KO Metapod then Kakuna and get 228 xp for the Kakuna KO. In the video though I show the clip of KOing Kakuna , then cut to me KOing Metapod, and then cut back to the ending of the battle with me getting the xp for KOing Kakuna . If you slow down the video speed, you can see that the xp Spinarak has when fighting Kakuna is the same amount of xp Spinarak has when the xp starts going up after deafeating Metapod. Also for what must be a single frame, before the xp starts going up you can see it says "The foe's KAKUNA fainted!" before the xp goes up and the battle ends, showing I just put the clips in the wrong order, hope that makes sense.

Where do you stand on Golduck? It's one of my favorites and has to be the most disrespected Gen 1 Pokemon to date imo.
I don't dislike golduck, but I'm not super struck on it either if that makes sense. People do be doing it dirty though you're right.
The most disrespected Gen 1 Pokémon is Dewgong, who is regal and adorable and great but doesn't get any credit
I really like dewgong, but I can see what people mean when they say it's a bit basic even for gen 1.

Problem with beedrill is I would have either had to play soul silver and give up butterfree or give up scyther in the national park.
Butterfree has compound eye which ups accuracy
In the Azalea rival fight, Quilava was in Blaze range for the last 2 hits, it looked like. You dodged a wipe there, I think he could've OHKO'd your team with Ember
Omg I think you're right! I didnt even think about blaze. I knew I got lucky in that fight but not that lucky!
I think you lost at the bug catching contest because your Scyther has low HP and is asleep. I think you win when you catch healthy Pokemon.
I don't think sleep the effects it but according to the wiki you're scored off Pokémon, level, IVs and as you said the hp the pokemon has when you catch it. I'm just gonna carry on assuming ed is a dirty cheat.
I'm not saying this out of hate: I genuinely like that you lost this nuzlocke. You can usually just expect a win when watching a nuzlocke video, but knowing that you actually post videos even when you lose makes the stakes feel like they actually exist.
Glad you enjoyed the video! Was very on the fence about ending with (such an avoidable) loss but good to know you appreciated it 😊.

This was kinda frustrating to watch. Why would you keep Quick Attack on Yanmega? If you'd kept AncientPower on it, you possibly could have won.
Also, STAB Gust against Scyther would have done way more than Confusion.
Wanted a priority move! probably a mistake in hindsight but oh well. Tbf in that fight the one time I use confusion i think its just a misclick. Shame you found it frustrating, I do make some silly mistakes but hopefully outside of that you found the video enjoyable!
