- Dover Forest has been ear-marked for housing development. Go and enjoy Nature's creation before it's bulldozed and become another housing estate. The start point for the hike is about 100m inside Ghim Moh Link. Shortly after starting your hike, you will pass by a group of plastic chairs. From here, there are 2 paths - Left & Right. In this hike, I took the Left path. This made me go around in circles, leading to nowhere. I subsequently came back to do another hike using the Right path. Please see my Dover Forest Hike #2 video on this.
Happy Hiking and Good Luck!
The round opening you found is not a well, it my old house toilet fushing systems. The kampong well are all covered up before we and our neighours moved out. The well usually have no concreate walls and 4 to 5 times in diameter.
You are a funny guy. Haha.
Like 9! Amazing adventure. Great walk and bravery hahaha. At a point I saw totally no path and I feel like crying already. Haha. Thanks for sharing. Another great video!
I did a follow up hike, taking the path to the 'Right' (where the plastic chairs are). The paths are very well defined and it takes effort to get lost. Haha. Let me know after watching, which hike you like to personally take on - the one with no path or the one with well defined path. Video will be uploaded this week 😀
@@CMChen to me I will surely take with the path unless I’m following someone who are very experienced in hiking hahaha. 😂
Done watching, but not sure yet if gonna explore like what I did after watching your clementi forest video.
Keep it up Sir🤗🤗🤗
My 2nd Dover Forest Hike video, taking the 'Right' path will be uploaded soon. This route is easy peasy and good for you 😀
Thanks for the video. I did it once and walked in a circle in the Eastern part. Waiting for dry weather to try again
You won't be walking around in circles if you take the path to the right where the plastic chairs are. My next video (not posted yet) will show the way.
Thanks. Look forward to it
as an acsian formerly from acjc, i would say best to start at buona vista station. i went into the forest but aft probably 20-30min walking around, i decided 2 turn around when i could find "no well defined path" as u put it. yes, i was very concerned abt where the water came from, was it drain water? lucky u didn't drink it! nice wildlifei i saw 1 rare bird. It was getting spooky when i was completely shaded & there was constantly the sound of trees scattering seeds & funny things (seeds?) falling 2 the ground. lookout for signs of "civilization;" holes deliberately dug, plants like pandan that don't normally grow wild. Good info abt the markers. didn't know they were there 4 that purpose!
lol, thats a private garden la , probably some residents chill out place
How did u enter Dover forest from Bouna vista station?
That's a nice trail walk in SG, uncle. Will Dover forest remain intact in another year?
The authorities announced on 1st August 2021 that the East side of the forest will be used to build HDB. Just look at Sungei Road. They have boarded up the place yet nothing was done at the place for the past 3 years. I think they will board up the East side by next year. Please go and enjoy your walk before the East side forest is transformed into a concrete forest.
HAHA use to be at SP never thought of walking only 500m from campus to enjoy the sights.
You can still go to enjoy the sights. I'll go with you if you are ready. Go before they flatten the forest. Planting a million trees with one hand while clearing the forests with the other.
@@CMChen Ty for the invite but I am on another island on the other side of the global ATM.
@@CMChen I think the trees are going to be planted along the expressways and in the middle of concrete jungles. Actually 1M trees amounts to 1 tree every 27m. I don't think they will plant them in a formation to create new jungle.
@@cvhawkeye6255 Which island are you on? You managed to travel?
@@CMChen UK, been here for years.
I thought u finding durian in jungle
U doing great adventure outdoor activities
There are no durian there. But there are jack fruits. You will see these in my 2nd Dover hike video.
Go Tekong, use to enjoy Durian trips! All you can eat but don't get caught.
@@cvhawkeye6255 You mean don't get shot!

Hahaha better than buy 🤣

Tnk for sharing your info
Dover Forest is deceiving hard to walk through. It looks like a small patch of jungle, but it is very easy to get lost inside without GPS map or a base compass.
Yes this is true. I went around in circles coming back to the same point when I should be somewhere else. Update: Dover Forest East is now boarded up by HDB and not accessible. They are building a concrete jungle now. What a shame this government of ours are doing. Planting a million trees yet cutting down a natural forest.
Very interesting. Guess you can say : "It's a jungle out there."
Indeed, haha!
Cm chen don't need paths :)
Really, haha
??? No GPS? You shouldn't get lost with today's tech?
Have GPS but no path! Trees everywhere. It's difficult to explain. Like getting caught in a time warp. You've got to be there to experience it. My 2nd trip there follows a well defined path with beautiful heritage trees in the wild. That hike is safe but less challenging.
@@CMChen This is the city dweller in us talking. Can walk in the jungle ... but must have foot path pre-prepared. I guess a person could get fined/illegal for carrying a machete and create new paths.
@@cvhawkeye6255 Hikers hike from point A to point B by navigating through the the best routes. Hikers don't bash through the undergrowth unnecessarily. Unless they are on virgin land and have to create new paths out of necessity.
So sad to see all forests become concrete forests....🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Plant more trees....🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Planting a million trees will never replace the forests that they cut down.
