Ioana, Thank you for posting this superb video. Your skill is obvious from the start, I am sure that you have practised this technique many, many times. This is a great inspiration to all budding artists and those that are curious as to whether they might paint. My own work is in collections worldwide, having painted for more years than I care to remember, however, your video has really impressed me, both in the skill and technique and the beautiful music that accompanies the video. As you say, don't just try to paint, do it. My advice to my colleagues and students has always been, paint every day, just paint, paint, paint and enjoy!

to anyone who might ask, her technique is similar to Chinese painting. Load the brush with two colors, start with the lighter red and let it fill the entire belly then the darker color black just at the tips of the brush... since this technique is more pigment than water, it works on regular copy/typewriting paper... Chinese paintings are usually done in incredibly thin RICE paper.

Thank you for this lovely tutorial. I just discovered it. I love poppies. My mother was from West Germany and when we visited in '68 and I saw all of the poppies next to the rye fields with the blue cornflowers and little daisies, I fell in love.

It's a poem by Canadian doctor and artillery Major John McCrea, written during his time in the trenches in WW1. He witnessed his best friend die. He wrote this poem in homage of all those who died and it is a poem that EVERY Canadian school child knows by heart and recites during our Remembrance Day (November 11) Ceremonies to honour our veterans. Not WTF!
We also have this recited at our Memorial Day services in the USA, held on the last Monday in May. It is to recognize and honor all veterans who have passed. (Similar to Remembrance Sunday in the UK)

I am struggling with watercolor, and now after seeing your beautiful tutorial, I am able to do this! The brush is key! Watercolor paper is even better. A juicy color with just a bit of contrast on the tip and slowly control roll sometime I use both hands rolling the brush lightly on the paper VOILA! I am sOoo happy! THANk YOU!!
