Reims, France - Walking Tour
Reims is the most populous city in the department of Marne. Its population in 2013 was 182,592 in the city proper and 317,611 in the surrounding metropolitan area, making Reims the most populated sub-prefecture in France. The city lies 129 km east-northeast of Paris. Its primary river, the Vesle, is a tributary of the Aisne.
The city is nicknamed "the city of the sacred" or "the city of kings". Indeed, it is on the future site of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Reims that Clovis is baptized by Saint Remi and that were consecrated a large number of Carolingian kings then Capetians for more than ten centuries from Louis the Pious in 816 until Charles X in 1825. In addition to the cathedral, the cultural and historical heritage of Reims is important; it has many historical monuments and Art Deco facades. Thanks also to its many cultural events, it is designated City of Art and History and has three sites inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Merci pour cette très belle vidéo. REIMS a beaucoup changé depuis que j'y ai vécu de 84 à 92 mais je me rappelle de toutes les places ou rues. Le Crédit Lyonnais, rue Sadi Carnot non loin de la splendide cathédrale, où travaillait ma mère et qui est toujours aussi beau 👍

Nice tour even if you missed nice places just near by you went, like : Parc de la Patte d'Oie and la porte Mars (roman gate), both facing the train station. Further there is the basilique Saint Rémi where french kings were crowned.
It seems the statue of Joan of Arc has disappeared from its original place :-( (near the cathedral)

I've been there and it's magnificent. The one thing that I found atrocious is that within a stone's throw of all this is a damn McDonald's restaurant. It takes away from the splendor of it all. Just one of the tragedies of our modern times I guess.

Pretty video and I agree that the area of the Cathedral and the opera is the most beautiful place of Reims but it only shows 10% of the city, you could have put the estates such as Croix Rouge or I don't know...this is just the embellishment of a dirty city but nice video🤷‍♀️
