Lol going back to 1.6 after spending my time on 1.0 and 1.3, I realized how bad and pain in the ass, the 1.6 is. Ever since 1.4 and onward, CS had been messed up in term of every iteration apart, as far as I remember correctly. They really nerfed the movement iteration, the spray recoil pattern iteration and slowed down the AWP draw fire time, significantly. That's why I used to thought 1.4-1.6 version are literally sucks so bad. 1.0-1.3 anyday, but I still think 1.3 was its peak of an update !! 1.3 >>> 1.6
I agree that 1.6 nerfed cs. I also felt it slowed the game down gameplay wise. It felt more arcade like from 1.0-1.5. 1.3 was peak quake style bunnyhopping and strafing movement in my opinion, and the game would have been better to stay there and let that skill remain there like the quake games from eSport perspective, but instead they nerfed it to make it more realistic which was a mistake in my opinion. With csgo they have tried to capture the eSport side of it more again but the movement still feels nerfed. I won't play it because it doesn't feel like cs to me at all and no longer has the same appeal and satisfaction playing it either.
@@_Gecko111 I don't get your point do you mean to say that quake games were better in a esport perspective? Because that doesn't make any sense, CS till 1.5 we could say were literally just run and gun, since half-life is literally built on a Quake Engine that makes sense, since 1.5 game became a little bit slower and had more tactics into it. If you put esports into this equation I say that was a pretty smart move because ever since CS esports only grew while Quake games went downhill.
@@csfragscom ok let me put it this way: I feel the game lost its pace and the skills involved in that. Look at cs 1.3 cpl final of NIP VS X3 for example. From an eSport spectator perspective, I felt it was more exciting than the later years. I've played all versions from beta 5 to csgo and this is just my perspective. More money went into CS later on over the years, but it did with all other eSport games too. CS evolved sure, but I don't agree it is a better game now to either watch or play. The golden years for me were cs 1.3-1.6 (early versions of 1.6 before it nerfed the awp, bunny hoping, duck jump, speed etc).
The hardware bro... In 2000 lots of people played on 15" monitors... Ball mice....30-40 fps... Any1 an idea why the demo looks like no recoil? Is this really a Heaton demo? cl_bob 0 is kinda weird...
this demo was recorded in 2002 (its a small file that you can play with your own version of CS whenever you want) , and decades later i made a video out of it using fraps and adobe premiere
Dude wasn't even at his peak, not remotely. I used to be pretty damn good in the beta-to-1.6 era and could land shots like these on a fairly normal game... There's no way I would have suspected cheating from his plays. I've been called a cheater and banned from some random pubs on occasion tho XD Damn that was like 5 lifetimes ago.
brings back memories of playing Aztec with your friends until the sunrise
Based, that was epic
Takes me back to my teens... I would play this map all the way through the night 🥺🥺
And day
no skins, only skills
A better time.
"Team, fall back!" Time won't fall back

Aztec was such a brutal map as T but godamn the nostalgia watching this

1.5 - my time starts with cs
Take me back!
I feel you brother !
imagine running into this fucking stallion while you're just trying to pub aztec
Everyone ingame asking who he is and accusing him of cheating lol.
in this time HeatoN's sensitivity is crazy
Lol the chat: "Wee cheater, only HS!"
People never change.

1.3 was definitely the peak
50 - 1 on dust xD (not counting the teamkill)
Damn i miss this
my only question is what screen recorder did he use in this video back in 2002 with a nice quality like that
i have the recording of this game, so i could make a video out of this years later in good quality ;)
@@AncientCS you record this back in 2002? what screen record you use im curious
@@j233wfyw no, i made a video out of this over ten years later. but the demo/recording is originally from 2002
Do you know how CS demos work?

wow man, where you got demos like this ??
8:55 LOL
Not as impressive as watching this in the 2000s, the oponents were very bad at aiming, he takes sometimes several secs spraying and still not die
Much harder to aim at that version. Afterwards they made it easier to get HS and reduced the recoil as well.
