I used to be a sweet eater first thing in the morning followed by processed foods the rest of the day. I recently changed everything and now find myself 52 pounds lighter, off 4 daily medications, by skipping breakfast every day on an 18:6 IF followed by 3 eggs 3 pieces of bacon + protein shake (in milk) for lunch and a meat based dinner of fish, pork, chicken, elk or beef. I cannot eat sweets in the mornings without getting sick now. Best thing I've ever done.

Anyone notice that mass produced eggs are really yellow, and if you get an egg from someone who has their own chickens in the yard, those egg yolks are very orange. Big time difference there.

    • @danyyyyyyy7

    • @FLGurl
      @FLGurl 12 วันที่ผ่านมา +17

Exactly! Orange is much better in the yolk color and it is an indication of how the chicken was raised. I got 'cage free' recently from Aldi and they are yellow! Could not find any pasture raised at the time, so I got stuck. Glad for you that you can source locally and get some that are more appropriate for a human menu. 🤗

Same here! OMAD also at 4pm! First and only meal of the day chock full of protein! Started it by accident after I got Invisalign, because I didn't like having to take off my aligners at work if I ate lunch. Not enough time to eat, brush my teeth, and use my portable water floss at work before putting the aligners back on. Now on OMAD I've got a lot of energy, I don't feel the need to take afternoon naps anymore, and my body is super trim 😂

Dr. Berg, You are absolutely right about Bulgarian yogurt! I live in Bulgaria and making yogurt is our tradition for centuries. Bacteria in fermented milk are beneficial for our microbiome and longevity. Immunity and health start in the gut. Gut health is the most important thing. I know several people here who are 86+ who eat mostly yogurt and cheese, they are in great mental and physical condition and they do not take any medications.
Lactobacillus bulgaricus is a unique strain of lactobacillus that has no side effects but has many benefits even against cancer.

@@Cronus66 We use our own bacteria that grows naturally only in our nature, or at least we discovered it here for the first time - Lactobacillus bulgaricus. It can be found naturally in snowdrops, from which we also make probiotics. In other countries, for making yogurt they use other cultures of bacteria developed in laboratories... We have European standards for raising cows and milk, which we do not feed with pesticides and other harmful things. Many people living in small Bulgarian villages produce their own yogurt. They also raise sheep and goats. They take them to pasture on natural grass.

My goal was two weeks but since I feel so great, I am going to keep it up and just reintroduce salads, probably for lunch. I can go longer without eating, I am telling everyone I know about this also. It's too good not to share. We are a family of five, with two teenage boys and now we are absolutely pounding the eggs. We have chickens and I need it to go ahead and be spring 🌱 so we can get an abundance of eggs. The winter has been difficult without their egg production. Anyway, yes this is a great video! I like to change it up, and like you, experiment. Sometimes I feel like having a savory breakfast (eggs, beef, maybe even fish) and sometimes a sweet one. Like organic oatmeal, but I have a few nuts, seeds and some ghee with it (also a square of 100% dark chocolate, which is my coffee, ha) and also some high-quality protein powder (always endeavor to get around 100g of protein/day). I rarely get hungry and never crave anything. Plenty of energy (when I get enough sleep, heh). I think different ways of eating are good for different people and at different times, depending on health and who knows what. That's why I think it's good to change it up and to be open to change. And most importantly, listen to the body, as to what it really needs/wants. Cultivate that all-important intuition.

Thank you for the emphasis on pecans and pumpkin seeds! I use walnuts as a trial mix filler and I add a bunch of Brazil nuts within this trail mix. I realize though that this mix is addictive because I’ve added those Lily’s Peanut Butter morsels. They’re very compelling, they’re very new to this diet too, but outside of overeating a bit they don’t seem to have a negative effect on my brain. In fact they don’t seem to be anything other than a fat, possibly even a healthy one! I’m not sure just yet!
These peanut butter morsels are from the Lily’s brand. Either way, the nuts I add these to _fill me up._
If I could I would only each nuts and berries.
They’ve been so good to me!
Thank you for addressing grains, I really just needed to know. I couldn’t live, let alone think without nuts in my diet! I’d revolt!

So yesterday I finally got myself a large room cool mist humidifier, plus I been drinking an herbal tea at night called breathe easy. Finally 8 hours of sleep last night and not a cough at all. Dr. Berg you should do a video on how important, especially for us in the northern hemisphere it is to have the proper amount of humidification in the house and to get your ducts clean regularly if you have a gas furnace. The furnace humidifier just does not put enough moisture in the air. Especially in a 2 storey with basment house. Causes bronchitis and sleep apnea for some people.

I make oatmeal for my 1 year old daughter every second morning. I try to give her as much variation as possible with everything else, but oatmeak is the most go-to meal she gets for breakfast. She is strong and healthy, taller than other girls her age (me and my wife aren't exactly the tallest people so her growing so well is awesome) I make it like this:
Organic oats with filtered water, organuc coconut flakes, organic coconut oil (added when served), organic cinnamon, organic chia seeds that have been soaked in water seperatily, organic nutritional yeast (unfortified of course) and that's it. She absolutely loves it

You sound like a very caring parent. The oatmeal you are providing is night and day difference from tearing up that little packet and dumping it in a bowl and adding water. Your daughter is blessed.

You can also ferment oats which makes them more digestible.

If you soak the steel cut oats overnight, they only take 5 minutes to cook in the morning 😊

I remember my Mum cooking the oats in the evening, ready for next morning. We had them with a boiled egg, butterrd toast and bitter marmelade, a cut-up orange and black tea. The weekends we had the full monty: bacon, sausage, fried eggs, black and white pudding. Delicious, I miss those breakfasts.

I'll have to keep in mind about the oatmeal and coffee part. I have steel cut oats made by Quaker and might find something else to switch that out. I never tried organic coffee, although i drink coffee once and awhile throughout the year. So it's not that bad when making some small changes.

I make steel cut Organic oatmeal with equal amounts of pureed lentils, and dehydrated ground green blend, ground cinnamon and ginger, coconut oil and diced apples. It is delicious and is more balanced that straight up oatmeal.

@@BobTubeTheEstimateGuy I have not heard of that and am relieved that I change up the protein source by using lentils, black beans, mung beans and chickpeas. All of these are soaked and sprouted to make the nutrients more bioavailable.
