Looking at a new boat now, love that you are running all the electronics and trolling motor on one battery. So this setup powers clean all day for you? If so you’re ahead of your competition, they all seem to run at least 4 batteries, what gave you the confidence to rig this way?
Awesome video John, I really appreciate your honesty in all of your content!!! Can you do a time lapse video of the entire rigging/mounting process of the lowrance transducer? I’m switching to lowrance and would like to see how you do everything from selecting the location, drilling, and mounting.
John I saw an associate of yours on the boat ramp the other day with Mikey B. ,Byron Childers was his name and he was wearing a Missle Baits toboggan, I have been asking about these for years, now I see they do exist, please let me know where I can get one please, thanks! They should be inyour apparel section.
@@JohnCrews Think of how many anglers are out there right now using the new Bomb chunk as a trailer on their jig, and it's cold, well we know which toboggan they don't have on. People are holiday shopping, add it to your apparel store, the $ your missing out on!
John I like the fact that you rig your boats out yourself. My only question is, do you run clean dedicated power to each of screens? If not how are you getting power to them?
do you feel safe having one TM battery vs 3? if one of the 3 fails it is easy to replace one bad with a lead-acid for a week or so but getting a 36v anywhere quickly is likely not happening? what is the main "house battery? lots of battery needed or two house batteries for all the draws?
Question on the gimble mounts for the bow units. Did you add any kind of rubber washer between the glass and the gimble mount's or did you mount them strait to the boat? I will be running the STS and will have a 12 Live and a Helix 12 on the bow. On the black box for the live scope will you mount them in the driver side rod box against the side wall?
What the reason for all 3 brands of electronics? I know before it was to have 360 and forward facing sonar, but since every brand has forward facing sonar now, why not just 2 brands?
Have a question for you. On the Lowrance helm unit, your running 2 transducers? I have my total scan transducer mounted exactly where you have yours, in front of jackplate on the bottom. How do you make the shoot thru hull transducer read only while running? I lose my depth while running, and would love to add that transducer to the bilge area. Could you do a short tutorial on how that is set up with the 2 transducers?
So i found this looking around, not to sure about it but still worth talking to mercury about it. Service Bulletin 2021-06R1 further states that Mercury has not certified any Lithium Batteries for use with their engines (although some boat manufacturers have and do use them with their boats). It further indicates that any claims caused by use of a Lithium Battery will not be covered.
I run Lithium Pros. They have had Mercury test their batteries. Lithium Pros are fine to run with Mercury. This will be the 10th year I’ve run them and had zero issues. The CPU in Lithium pros prohibits the burst at start up that is the problem with other brands
John, I’m running a 3-in-1 transducer transom mounted on my boat. I’m having problems with the screws in the mount stripping out of my hull. It’s happened 3 times. I recently had it re-done with 3M 5200, but this seems to not be holding up well. Any tips? Am I doing something wrong here?
John, what are the Humminbird features that caused you to add to both the bow and console? You’ve run Lowrance for years and we all know why you installed the Garmin LS, but wondering why the Humminbird units, Helix or Solix?
Im assuming that boat was ordered to spec for the next buyer? That grey just ruins a beautiful boat imo lol Yes im aware this is totally irrelevant. I love your videos and missile baits are phenomenal! Thank you!
john awesome video ?? why did you go with the Balzout mount instead of ?? thanks mike

Nice, can't wait to see the wrap.
Do you run electronics and motor on one battery?
Yes. Works great. Clean picture
Great vid bud I really enjoyed watching thanks for putting hard work into quality content!!
Thank you!

Which transducer? The 3-in 1?

Ha! Yes, we did a special run of those ones. I don’t even have one! 😂
@@JohnCrews Its winter time, that item should be made available on your apparel website every year during the cold months.

I like my active target more than livescope. Which one do you like better
It’s a toss up for me. If you fish deeper water, I’d say Active Target
@@JohnCrews oh ok I see that livescope was better in the shallow water
Sweet boat. Coming along nicely. Are you using a Fortrex 360 mount on your Ghost?
Yessir. You’ll see in a video coming soon
John I like the fact that you rig your boats out yourself. My only question is, do you run clean dedicated power to each of screens? If not how are you getting power to them?
Bass Cat runs 6 gauge wire all the way to the front so I use those
@@JohnCrews thanks for the reply!
Gorgeous boat John. I got my 21 Triton with that same Grey as the main color and black accents. It’s a head turner just like yours will be.
What are the switches you are using on the batteries? Always hard to hit the water and leave the rods behind.
Ha! No doubt. They are breakers on the batteries
what mount do you use to mount your 360 to the lowrance ghost since they're different companies??
Was wondering that myself.
The Fortrexx mount clamps right on the shaft. Watch for future vids with it
Mount the Lowrance on the other side of the jack plate
I’m flush mounting it under the step part. That way there’s no crossing of beams. It worked great last year

I do feel safe with 1 Lithium Pros. I’ve been running them for 10 years

I’m a big proponent of the rubber washers. Yes
More rigging videos coming
I like how you did your disconnects on the battery! What material did you use for that bar going from the battery to the disconnect?
It’s comes from Bass Cat with the bar to the breaker
I’d like to know what part number that bar is.
Have you already sold this boat?
Did you have the issue before with the jackplate transducer shield? Or is this the first time
Not sure why it was way off this year. Never had it before
What the reason for all 3 brands of electronics? I know before it was to have 360 and forward facing sonar, but since every brand has forward facing sonar now, why not just 2 brands?
I ran this setup last year and loved it. I think I’m running the best if the best but Active Target is comparable to Livescope

I will try. I’ve gotten other questions about it 👍🏼
Nice boat John! You will be back in the Eyra next year buddy! I’ve watched enough of your videos to figure out your pattern with these BassCat’s 😂😂
😂😂
Isn't it true that if you use a lithium cranking battery on the new Mercs that it voids the warranty of the motor?

Must be drilling the holes a touch too big. That’s my guess
Hey Coach Lafleur, how's the access to get under the trolling motor?
😂 It’s good. Remove the foot pedal and there is an access hole
Heck yeah!! Always a lot to do. At least you got some time.
Are you only running the two batteries this year?
Yes
John, what are the Humminbird features that caused you to add to both the bow and console? You’ve run Lowrance for years and we all know why you installed the Garmin LS, but wondering why the Humminbird units, Helix or Solix?
Birds have Lakemaster mapping, high resolution SI, and 360. Helix units are dependable

I’m up to 7 people in line to buy this one so I’d say some people like the colors 😂
