  • Well Well Well! 2.0 mode for the Master Drift series of Yokomo drift machines. I really loved my purple MD 1.0, after the black MD 1.0 was under-whelming. This 2.0 version has big shoes to fill in my eyes. Also it seems a bit soon to me to have a 2.0 version released less than a year from when the 1.0 dropped. Still, many people have told me the car drives very well but I am unsure if this was in box stock form or after some tuning. I am excited to build it up and compare it to the 1.0 both on the bench and on the track :D Let me know if you recently purchased a MD 2.0 and your thoughts in the comments. Enjoy the video! :D

    SO GLAD TO SEE THIS UPLOAD. It's been too long Nez0 ! Feed our Nez0sBadShoppe Needs 🤓
    ,The MD 1.0 had teething problems because of the incorrect Manual settings (v 1.0) Yokomo Dropped the ball there big time
    Yokomo like to bring out many variants of a chassis so this is no surprise how quickly the SD 2.0 and MD 2.0 followed.
    Look at how many YD2 variants Yokomo brought out before end of production ! Felt like a new version every 3 months
    🤺As Regards MD 1.0 Black Owners , I searched for good settings after realising the Manual V1.0 was incorrect for front upper and lower and steering arm link settings , found Nez0s Build Videos of the (Purple/Red editions)
    Without those videos I'd still be guessing and having to resort to letting YT try to translate Japanese Setup Videos / Yokomo'a Website is still in HTML and has very little info besides the incorrect Manual. Unless this has changed recently or someone can link the other manuals.
    Looking forward to the build digest of this Chassis Nez.
    MD 1.0 Owners (Watch Nez0's build Videos to find how to make them work and then thank Nez0 for taking the time to make and upload those detailed videos)
    Just as an additional note / I found a solution for the MD 1.0 front steering issue / the dreaded slide rack not working as it should (unbalanced bearing height) 'needing shims to be added under the bearings in the slide rack to have it balanced (Mine needed it anyway) and it needs to be adjusted at the front bearing every few weeks.
    The Team AD Direct Steering adapter for the slide rack System , makes the steering sharper and smoother and removes the stock bearings and fixings and replaces them with Team ADs own Bearings and bearing holders as well as an extension for the Yokomo Servo Horn which then attaches a bearing for super smooth action.
    Could You please Post Your own Personal MD 1.0 Settings somewhere for DL Nez0 ? I always use these settings as the GO TO for when I've tuned it too far one direction or the other.
    Thanks for the upload

      Cheers! Thank you for watching! :D So far my personal MD 1.0 v1.2 settings are the same from the box, I haven't really started tuning it yet. I need to translate the basic infos to a setup sheet :D

    I built the MD 2.0 about 2 weeks ago. It drift’s really nice. The build was good except two things. I only got 2 wheel nut’s instead of 4. I read another person also only got 2 instead of 4 wheels nuts. The steering rod location that connects to the steering block I believe is an instruction manual error. I moved it one hole away from the block if not you end up with an extreme amount positive toe. I used the yeah racing alignment rack and was able to dial in the toe somewheres between 2 and 4° positive toe. There is a lot of slop in the steering assembly which makes it difficult to dial the steering toe precise.

      I also think it’s ridiculous that they put the adjustable front wheel hex’s with the SD 2.0 but not with the MD 2.0. Especially for the extra money that you pay for it. It should come with adjustable front wheel hex’s. I had to swap the adjustable hex’s from my sons sd 2.0 to my Md 2.0 because I needed more adjustability for my wheel and body setup. Thank God I was able to do this because it looks like the adjustable hex’s from Yokomo aren’t available anywhere except for Hong Kong.

      I only got two wheel nuts as well and my steering rack is also very loose. But it slides super nice

      Same here two wheel nuts.

      You mean negative toe, it’s set like that for stability, I’ve left it stock setup and it drifts very well

    • @freerangehuman7016
      @freerangehuman7016 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@sitapp correct I made a mistake. The box stock negative toe is way more than most videos I’ve seen suggest. These people are more experienced than me. 2 degrees of negative toe is what’s been suggested. It’s also what the yokomo SD 2.0 we built several weeks earlier was set at from factory about 2 degrees so I was very surprised to see the MD 2.0 with so much box stock negative toe. If I had to guess it’s more than 5 degrees negative toe.

    Just finished building mine yesterday! Stoked for the electronics to show up! As others have posted why only 2 wheel nuts and also the non adjustable front knuckles is BS

      They be releasing stuff so fast they are missing little things

  • @sitapp
    @sitapp 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Oh and I too was missing 2 nuts lol
    Also I noticed that they put a small ball rod end in bag 9 instead of a short neck like it was supposed to be, other than that the build was great. Little play in steering but this because there is a little movement back and forth on the front upper arms otherwise slide rack etc all feels pretty good 👍🏻

      Full carbon mainly on md. Hinge pins on sd vs ball studs on md or whatever.
