April 2024 Backyard Bamboo Forest Update

Spring has sprung and so have the runners! While most of the growth in the forest since planting has come from the clumpers, the runners have finally started to send up shoots this month.
There are new canes on the Green Temple, the Golden, the Red Margin, and the Rose Temple!
Also exciting, I didn't kill my two tropicals! Both the Giant Burmese and the Timor Black have sent up new canes after looking near death this winter.
Lastly, I had 10 cubic yards of wood chip mulch delivered and I spread it throughout the forest to keep moisture in the ground, prevent weeds, and start creating a forest floor rich in micro-organisms.
