      There are certainly times like in my Sgriffito that I like the marks to not smear!

    Cheryl, great video. Finally found the answer that not many artists talk about, when you finish an art piece. I see some use Matte mediums but they’re vague in expanding on it. Glad I found you and looking forward to checking out more of your videos.❤

    Thanks. Very helpful and timely for me, as applies to a current painting. I don't want any smudge. Confirmed my guess that fixative best choice.

      Thank you Patty!!! You are so kind. I love being someone’s muse, I used to have a necklace with the words muse until it was replaced with “Gigi” from my grandson!

    Thank you! This was very helpful. I loved how you did a painting at the end since I was curious how paint would react over the fixatives. ❤️

    Loved the test run at the beginning! Thank you for doing this!! Perfect timing. I was just thinking about pulling out my clear gesso to play with retaining my marks.

    ❤. Thank you for the demo on the various applications to retain marks - extremely helpful and anxious to try all but the fixative - working in a makeshift studio in an apartment which makes it incredibly difficult to use any aerosol applications so I’ve been looking for alternatives that I can live with. Also - LOVE your art!

      Glad it was helpful! I used to work in a shared group studio and we had the same issue with sprays. I then used a gel medium but had to watch the smear!!!

    Thank you so much! I've also heard hair spray works. True?

    • @CherylWilsonArt
      @CherylWilsonArt  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have heard that Brenda. Many use hairspray, but as I sell my works, I feel I need to ensure I am using the best materials as people do seem to ask!!! I would just spray several times, wait in between.... even the best sprays need several coats.

    Just letting you know when you rinse your brush you are banging the container really loudly and your voice is not that loud so your water bucket must be closer the mic.
    Also, your word bubbles are too small to read. 😊
    Otherwise good demo thank you.
