Wise does not work in Supermarkets in Australia. Swiping, inserting with pin, still useless.

Thanks for that Jonny. I’ve got a fun time ahead. I’m going to Cambodia in a couple of weeks for hopefully a long time. I will be changing sterling into dollars and receiving Cambodian riel as change. I feel like there is a strong chance I will be getting my pants pulled down on a daily basis 😂

No worries Tony. Haha yes, I suspect there's a strong chance the dollar-to-riel exchange rate you'll be receiving isn't going to be the mid-market rate 😅

You could ask your recipient to get a WISE account and then the transfer will be instant. Can you share any more detail about the transfer you're looking to make? Are you based in the US? ^Jonny

@@Monitodotcom I’m the one receiving the money… I’m curious on is there any way I can instantly cash out instead of waiting 1-3 days on the transaction for the money to go to my bank.

Is wise is wise still the best for transferring and receiving payments? Does Monzo offer the same rates as they work with wise when sending international payments? Thanks

That is a good question! As far as I can tell, if you have Monzo Plus or Premium, then due to the cashback you receive on international transactions, it could work out cheaper to transfer via Monzo. If you're just a standard Monzo account holder then I believe it works out to be the same.
In terms of receiving payments, I imagine WISE could be cheaper especially if you're receiving into one of your WISE local accounts, you would avoid potential SWIFT network charges and other fees that you may incur when receiving international, foreign currency payments into a GBP account. ^Jonny
