I bought one of these thresholds with the rubber seal. After reading the comments I am now throwing it in the trash. Now I'm looking for an all metal threshold that is wider and uses the rubber seal on the underside of the door where it belongs. Thanks for the video.
Some of those aluminum thresholds come with a vinyl strip that snaps on the bottom side. This one didn't. So far I have no water problems or dielectrics causing any corrosion. Above the door is an small roof that over hangs and keeps the concrete dry. I plan on getting a new Anderson door, with door jam and threshold. That old door, as charming and cool as it looks, is just not efficient keeping the weather out.
a few days ago the local handyman came repair to instill a new front prehung door frame and did it all in 2 hours to cut corner he remover the top piece plywood of door and didn't remove the bottom Threshold since it was glue down..so he place the new door on the old Threshold and now door whistle also the sit above the carpet.
At the time, the concrete was brand new (one cubic yard!), and needed something to seal the bottom of the door. I am going to install a steel door with a steel frame. It has to be custom made because of the irregular height. The door cannot be any taller due to the height of the stairs above. I am getting all new siding for the house installed this summer.
i don't see why you didn't replace the weather strip all the way around along the door it look like shit.it would only take another 20 min and cost maybe 25.00 . if you was doing it for some one and getting paid that should be done so home owner is 100% satisfy .

Pro tip spray the house with soapy watter before you splatter concrete all over it. Makes it easy to wash off
Cool door. Would have loved to see it completed
Warming the rubber on the threshold really helps a lot to insert into themetal
long side goes outside that keeps the rain and snow out
Is there a part 2

Great music. What is the name of artist/song? Sounds very Bossa Nova. Nice vid BTW.
