Fascinating hotel! The plank vinyl looks sharp in that room, especially with the white trim. The modern furniture works well in the space, and the blue adds just enough color to the room. I’d bet that the bathroom has been renovated at least there times. Probably once in the 40s, once in the 60s, and once in the late 90s or early 2000s based on the tile.
I stayed there during my last trip to chicago - it was affordable, and it was a nice room. The people running the bar and restaurant downstairs were amazing and it's distance to everything was awesome. Don't know why people avoid it!
might have to give this one a try in November i avoided it cause the former red roof near michigan ave had major mold and sent my allergies into a fit so kinda gunshy about older places
hey i work at the hilton downtown des moines if you come back to des moines we got alot of stuff pool full restraunt bar convenice storre setting freee shuttle service
I stopped here in April 2024. I stayed 3 nights and used it as a base to see Chicago. The staff, room, food and views were first class.
@@kevinholden4628 It’s very underrated. Probably not for everyone, but I love this place.
I remember watching the 2 part series a while ago. I cant believe Jacob is back at the Congress Plaza hotel again!
These elevators are luxurious! I remember that hotel a while back
very nice review!
Chicago looks amazing!

Definitely a unique place, great video Jacob!
I believe the mirror over the door covers the area where the old valet compartment once was.
I am almost positive I stayed here on a DECA trip to Chicago in November 1993. Wow
I need to stay here one day.

i'm pondering Citizen M or the Congress. Will be booking via points and this hotel is cheap as far as points are considered compared to Citizen M.
Did Elevator say THIRTEENTH floor?
WhY they're calling the South Tower, wasn't that a separate hotel years ago?
1:49, It seems this Hotel doesnt care if the #13 is A Unlucky Number lol.
Still haven't forgiven them for modding the elevators, especially the Otis Touch
Is this hotel haunted?
very chatty elevator lol
This place is such a shit hole. Owners should be embarrassed. It's basically the equivalent of any of the Brittania owned hotels in the UK.
Room 1415 Tour 2:11
That’s annoying
